No thanks, too many disappearing acts. When his contract was the talk in the NY papers he suddenly found his mojo and went on a tear.
When the talks cooled down so did he. When he was first traded to Denver, same thing. Look at his numbers, they've gone down every month he's been in Denver. Pts, FG pct, 3pt pct. The man can't stay focused for very long. Ike is right, we have our SF, other more important needs like Center and addressing the PG situation.

Chandler isnt a SG in a traditional offense but playing next to Melo and Amare he is fine.
Waiting for Fields to maybe become as good as Chandler is not that smart considering Amare is slowing breaking down. Do we give Fields another 2 years? We can rock and roll with Chandler next year.
I'd welcome Chandler back to play SG next to Carmelo.
We'd be big and versatile at the 2,3,4 positions.
Unless Walsh thinks he can use that money to get a center, which would be more glaring a need, I'd be all for it.
Put Chandler at the SG backed up by Fields, and trade Bill Walker.
For what? as much as we all like Wilson, his position is not needed here. We need centers and point guards, nothing else.
Between Williams and Walker, they give you what wilson would give.
Yes - just so I my #21 jersey doesn't go to waste.
Really though, I would love to have Wilson back. No, wing players aren't exactly the highest of priorities right now, but IF you can bring him in for the MLE (he has NOT been the same in Denver), you aren't going to bring in anyone better.
Man filled almost any role we asked him to take this year. SG, SF, PF, 6th man...
Landry, Shawne, even Walker (that 0-11 still hurts)..I like all these guys to an extent, but let's be real - our roster is 2 guys deep. Chandler helps shore that up.
Only reason I would say no - I really do believe we're throwing everything we can into a CP3 offer next Feb. I'd feel shitty trading Will away in back to back seasons.

+1 in a big way- Chandler would actually be the perfect fit in this situation- A size advantage w good D at the 2, He can hit the open 3, played well for Mike, doesn't demand the ball, could also backup Carmelo OR Amear and score when needed, homegrown Knick- I would feel really good about having him- I don't want to plan for future starfucking anymore-
I would love to have Chandler back because he would fill the SG slot 100Xs better than fields and he played solid defense for us when he was here.
The thing is, you could only offer him a 1 year deal which Denver would match.
If you offer him more than 1 year you absolutely do not have the cap space for a 3rd max contract next summmer (under current CBA rules)...
if there is a chance to get him back we should do it!
what a strange season we had. watching that video its easy to think those guys are still knicks.
chandler was playing well in nyc.
Having Chandler back would be nice, but as it's being said, we have other needs such as center that need to be addressed first.
No. Not unless he is.coming.off the bench for 25-30 per game. As nice as he is be is an injury waiting.to happen and is not.dependable. My take is that one of the biggest things that separates a starter from a sub is consistency. Wil is not consistent and not dependable. You need to know what you are gonna get from the guys you give the most minutes to, the starters. Wil is too unpredictable and injury prone to depend on.

Bingo....he's the only guy that looks like he plays...lost...
I like chandler when he is on..but he still hasn't figured it out yet..whodini should be his middle name.

it'll be interesting to see what the new CBA will look like...but I would think that there is going to either be a MLE 'or' something else...maybe a franchise tag

Hogwash
How is 72 games, 49 starts, 15 points and 6 not dependable?
The "injury prone" garbage is only a result of The Mayor beasting inside against guys he takes it strong against.
With that said, the Knicks have more immediate, and documented, void at the center position. We need at least two. It would be better to have three.
We have none.
I am beginning to think this may have been in the plans all along - it makes sense. Donnie wanted to resign Wilson but he needed to use him in the trade, knowing he could be available during the summer.
The only thing that complicates all of this is the cap, which I don't see how we will get around and also find a C, a PG, and fill out the roster with better roll players.
This is mission impossible if you ask me.
I think Anubis is the source for this Berman article:
The Knicks would have to get lucky, but one of their targets this summer is to bring Wilson Chandler back into the fold, The Post has learned.Chandler, who was dispatched to Denver in the Carmelo Anthony trade, will be a restricted free agent, and a source said he would love to return to the Knicks. And the Knicks would love to have him back, as coach Mike D'Antoni believes he's the perfect versatile fit for his system who does so many things, including rebound. Chandler's Nuggets trail Oklahoma City 3-1 in the first round.
Chandler's new agent is Happy Walters, who also represents Amar'e Stoudemire and Knicks surprise reserve standout Shawne Williams, also a free agent whom the Knicks would like to bring back.

So we are going to outbid Dallas for Tyson Chandler? Likelihood of happening = ZERO.
Unless they do something with Brandon Haywood's contract, it will be very hard for them to resign Tyson. Their current salary for next year is $61,004,098. They are over the projected CAP. I think martin made a guesstimate that cap next year is around $58M to $60M. Let's say it is $60M. We waive Bill Walker then our cap is $44.5M. We can sign him to $10M per year at 4 years. That is more than the MLE that Dallas can use. That leaves us with a cap of $54.5 for next year. We can even backload the contract and have the first year be $8M to give us $52.5M. Gives us roughly $8M more to make other moves.

Dallas has Chandlers bird rights. They can go over the cap to sign him.

Hogwash on your hogwash with all due respect to your position as the president of the Wil Chandler fan club, I beg to differ. He always gets hurt around the all star break and for last few games of the season he is hurt. I called it this year. It happened last year. It is what he does.
And 15 and 6 is great if it is every game. It is not.so great when it is 28 and 8, then the next game it's 2 and 4.
Wil got talent and potential but he don't got dependability. You simply can't depend on him every night.

i think that $44M number for the knicks cap is way off. even if they waive Billups, he's still on the cap for $4M. and I don't think there's anyway they don't bring him back. Billups will be here. cap room is not one of the knicks options.
Turiaf's expiring deal could be a good chip. Fields is a chip. 17th pick is a chip. Those are our three chips to improve. maybe Jerome Jordan and Shawne Williams. maybe Bill Walker.

joec - everyone in the NBA gets injured.
Point of Clarification. I have, nor have I ever been, president of any Wilson Chandler fan club.
I have proudly served as the Mayor's Campaign Manager since 2007. I stand on my record of service and loyalty. Unlike some, who are quick to yank the trap door for any yoots who wear the orange and blue, I have been a tireless advocate for patience in the players who show up to practice early, get back on defense, eat their vegetables, hit the open man and play the right way.
Trades are for kids.
Bermans article is filler.
Chandler would help the team.
