As for rooting against Miami, it's no differetn then people outside of NY, rooting against the Yankees. People don't like the big bad wolf. They root against him. I don't hear the Yankees crying about it.
I'll go one further...I want him to do well...I want to see a great basketball player play great basketball...I want him to be at the top of his game and our guys at the top of their games and we beat him/them...The hate thing I don't get...If they won, it ups the ante, the Knicks as an organization know who to gun for...That creates a great basketball rivalry and good hoops to follow hopefully...

TheGame wrote:In making that statement, Lebron was basically saying, "Hey, tomorrow I will still be rich, and you will still be a working class loser, so hate on me all you want." Well, those working class losers are the ones that by the tickets and the products that all you to be rich Lebron, so you basically are showing how low class you truly are.
All the dude had to say was, "we worked hard but did not reach our goal. We will work harder over the summer to hopefully get back here, and hopefully next time we will be able to win it all. We look forward to the challenge." He ends it like that, he can move on. Instead, it is like he is starting to relish the role of the bad guy and makes statements intended to insult NBA fans.
I think we have to give LeBron the full benefit of a doubt on this one...This statement is just too damning that I can't see him meaning it in that manner...You could also take it as the season is over and you can't hate me anymore, you have to go back to your normal lives like I'm going to mine...I'm running with that..LeBron is a good dude, the limelight got a little too hot for him this past season...That's why he couldn't come here...Everyone isn't a villain...Give him the benefit of a doubt on this...

He cut a better heel promo than most dudes in the pro wrestling biz today.

What bothers me is that people who choose to hate LeBron seem angry at people who don't hate him.

it's not anger, it's confusion and disappointment

He just doesn't get it.
loweyecue@ 6/13/2011 6:51 PM
LBJ needs a lesson in humility. I think he needs to learn how to respect other people before he can earn their respect. But I am not sure he was trying to disrespect people by what he said, just sounded like it was awfully worded.

I just heard a joke on the radio from someone in Ohio. Why didn't Lebron go to College? Answer: He couldn't handle _____. I'll give a "congrats" to whoever fills in the blank.

Finals. too easy.

Well well well. There was a time when lebron refusef to shake hands after a loss. This time its personal tho. The assumption that the rest of the people have to wake up to a life that is not as good as his is his most immature and plain STUPID comment. Immature and stupid people do not become bball legends.
Solace@ 6/13/2011 8:46 PM
Well, what LeBron said may have possibly been true. That being said, it was really mean spirited, nasty and a downright stupid thing to say. It appears LeBron enjoys making an ass out of himself and acting like a villan, and has pulled Wade into this as well. I don't wish ill on anyone. But, this guy is immature and irresponsible. The people defending him are simply choosing to ignore the blatantly obvious WWE heel-like tactics. Not cool, IMHO.

Darn, I was trying to decide if I should put part of the 2nd sentence as a clue or not. Guess I shouldn't have.

I heard a good one:
I asked Lebeon for change for a dollar. He gave me $0.75. He didn't have a fourth quarter.

I hate it when you say something sensible.

No, that makes much more sense than 90% of your usual statements.
Damn you basketballjones
