I am a die hard British rock fan and in the void that the breakup of Oasis left I found hope in the Arctic Monkeys.

If you have never heard of them you should check them out - really talented group with a fantastic singer (who happens to live in Brooklyn now).

Their first album was typical British pop/rock with smart lyrics, their second album showed more of an edge, while their third delved into some dark and experimental territory. Their fourth effort titled Suck It and See is a balance between the more melodic tunes and some darker edgier songs. Overall the album has a great summery sound and it was recorded in the same studio that Nirvana recorded Nevermind.

I had the chance to catch these guys live last year and they really hit you with a full on sonic assault. A great group that is somewhat under the radar in the US. If you like British rock I think they are the best thing coming out of there since Oasis.
