The Knicks are discussing trades & there seems to be an opening w/ MIN where NY could get Johnny Flynn. NY still trying to trade up too.

I would NOT want to trade anything of value for Johnny Flynn.

GustavBahler @ 6/18/2011 11:49 AM
What do we have left of value to get him other than maybe Fields?
Ira @ 6/18/2011 11:51 AM
Minnesota should give us a pick to take him.
Knicksfan @ 6/18/2011 11:52 AM
Interesting, considering Min is looking for veteran help and they have more than one 1st rounder. I hope they dont trade Fields, though, as I think he will be great off the bench.

Would it be Douglas the one being traded? Would that be good or bad? Does this mean we are going for an SG, C or maybe both?

nyk4ever @ 6/18/2011 12:22 PM
playa would have a heart attack if we got johnny flynn!

i in no way thought flynn was a lotto pick but i did think he'd be a good pg in the NBA. flynn's game is much more of a free-flowing attack and rambis style was never going to mesh with his abilities. if we can get him on the cheap, i'm all for it.

Bonn1997 @ 6/18/2011 12:45 PM
Don't know anything about him other than that his numbers last season were awful
Olbrannon @ 6/18/2011 12:55 PM
if managed that'd be Flynn, Rautins and Melo. Orange reunion or more CAA?
Nalod @ 6/18/2011 1:44 PM
Flynn=Rainman Felton?
AnubisADL @ 6/18/2011 1:52 PM
At this point I'm hoping we trade the pick for a proven guy like OJ Mayo.

Memphis traded their 2011 pick to Utah for Ronnie Brewer and could use the cheap talent with Gasol due for his payday.

mikesknicks @ 6/18/2011 10:41 PM
I'm with this move! I really like mayo and I think he can become a star on the right team.
CrushAlot @ 6/18/2011 11:51 PM
I think Chicago is rumored to be offering picks 28 and 30 as well as a player for Mayo. If that is accurate I don't see anyway the Knicks have a shot at getting him with what they have to offer.
mikesknicks @ 6/18/2011 11:59 PM
How can you say no chance without knowing who the player is?? Knick fans so negative! No chance

17th pick > 28th & 30th picks

17th pick > 28th & 30th picks

this may true in any draft, but in this one in particular if the guy or guys you are targeting at 17 aren't on board, 15-30 may be all the same talent, and let's not forget that Knicks need depth.

Let's say the Knicks can pull off a straight up TD for Flynn, and then 17 for 28+30+43 (maybe there is a SG that CHI likes at 17).

Nab someone with high upside like Tyler, Selby or Shumpert at the end of the first.

That's not bad.

i think i'd rather have TD + pick 17 than jonny flyyn and 28+30. flynn is horrible.

Twolves were horrible. Was flynn the problem or was he just caught up on a bad team?

agreed that flynn is an awful fit for the triangle, but he just looked too small and completely overmatched whenever i saw the t'wolves play.

@Probballdraft:
As first reported by @Probballdraft Knicks exploring deal for Johnny Flynn. Sounds like Douglas and $ for Flynn.

with so many PGs on the Twolves team I can see this going down, TD would be a scrappy outside shooter for them off the bench. Good work ethic too, which they need with all the young dudes.

For NY, it gives them that PG off the bench and someone that you can include in a CP3 deal if there is an outside chance at that. Also lets them concentrate #17 on a big defender and perhaps buy 1 late 1st or early 2nd and take a flier on a second big like Tyler.

If Johnny locked up, I would love to see Singleton and maybe a C like Tyler (if he got the defensive nack).

Heck, even Singleton and Faried would be 2 nice dudes to draft if that was possible.

yeah, if they believe flynn can play a felton type roll here, it could be good. and i agree that it would be very good if they got a big and a PG out of this draft. if flynn is that PG, i guess that's good.

Markji @ 6/19/2011 1:42 PM
If we do this trade it also means that we don't need to take a PG at #17. We have much more flexibility as one of our needs get fulfilled (PG) and TD played some SG, so now we have room for another SG. Ex - Klay Thompson, Alec Burks or Marshon Brooks - if we consider one of these players as the BPA.
