Off Topic · Flash Drive Question (page 1)

I've been using the same flash drive for a few years but it recently started "acting up" on my computer. Sometimes my computer recognizes it; other times it doesn't and says the device needs to be formatted. Sometimes after I've opened the flash drive, it will close and then a few seconds later the computer will recognize it again and open it. Now, it's closing and opening every few seconds. Do I just need to get a new flash drive? Thanks!

It could be the flash drive or more possibly the USB port on your computer. If the flash drive can be used without issues on another PC then it's the second problem.

That's a good point. I'll check it out on another computer today.

On edit: Flash drive works fine on computer at work. That said, on my home computer, my camera does work fine on the USB port even though the flash drive doesn't. I guess I'll just buy a new flash drive and see if it works on the home computer.

For your present flashdrive, take everything off that you need and then reformat it. Sometimes that fixes things.
