Knicks · Knicks in the lead to get TYSON CHANDLER!?!?!??!? via Ken Berger (page 10)

From the way people here talk about this guy you would think he is Dikembe Mutombo and not an average center.

What is your major malfunction? Why would the Knicks have to overuse Chandler? We will have other bigs to play behind him. Jared & Jorts in particular. I'm sure they could add another big to that crew and the team will be fine.

This is a move that the Knicks have to make. If they can't get Cp3, then the logical thing is to sure up the frontcourt and they can find a capable PG in the FA market. I listed some of the guys available up above.

Don't think NYK out of CP3 Hunt if it gets Ty Chandler. Ty & CP r close friends. Most likely, Amare would hit trade market.

for me that's pure speculation on Broussard's part, nothing more.

Broussard's a whore that makes shyt up. Amare is NY just as Melo is New York just as KRS was Hip Hop

Camby and Nash or Chandler and Nash? Is there a difference, because the latter is a definite possibility.

Yeah, the difference is you have financial flexibility without Chandler's contract destroying your cap.

Irony: you complain about Chandler's injury situation and the alternate center you propose is Camby? ... who has played LESS games because of injury over the last 5 years and is almost a decade older?

Camby will not cost you $14 million a season.

right, because he's ten years older than chandler and not as effective and not as sturdy at this point. in their primes, camby is the better player, but we can't trade for 2004 camby anymore. that ship has sailed.

people (myself included) covet getting camby get as a way to undo that horrible trade - it's time to let it go.

Tyson Chandler / Amare Stoudemire / Carmelo Anthony

that's the most dynamic front court in the league.

and we still have an MLE this season and next season. what's not to like? throw in our ACC lockdown backcourt of Iman Shumpert and Toney Douglas and this team is looking REALLY GOOD.

Camby is still putting up numbers despite his age. He is still a capable player in the league.

I just don't think you understand how horrible it is to give this guy such a large contract. It severely cripples our flexibility to continue improving the team moving forward.

Cap flexibility was thrown out the window after the Melo trade.

only thing i can say on that point is - maybe the knicks should have waited on Melo. Then they could be looking at CP3, Amar'e and Tyson. but every single asset that went in the melo trade would have to go in the CP3 trade.

so it comes down to do you prefer CP3 or Melo.

or we could just deal with reality which is that the Knicks now have the best frontline in basketball.

question is: who plays the point? Baron Davis is amnestied and he clears the bid period (which he prob would)? jamaal tinsley? maybe steve blake if the lakers get CP3 and keep fisher and amnesty blake. maybe luke ridnour?

but, seriously, with a front court of Amar'e (just measured at 6'11" 260lbs) / Tyson Chandler (7'1" 280lbs) / Carmelo Anthony... who beats that frontline?

agree and its old school... you win with size and that size is great and its backed by elite athleticism. These arent plodding dinosaurs. Chandler is everything Camby was, and most would agree that even for 60 games Camby was pretty freakin awesome here.

I understand our PG options are limited, but our two offensive stars in Melo/Stat arent players that have to have perfect passes to score.

What criteria are you using to judge him as the 2nd best defensive center?

The guy plays 27 minutes a game, averages 10 and 9 and all of a sudden he's Dikembe Mutombo's son.

If we got this guy 2 years ago all of you would be calling for Walsh's head. Such is life.
