Knicks Trade:Turiaf ($4.36M), Billups ($14.2)
Knicks Receive:
Chandler ($14.5), Miller ($7.8)
Denver Trades:
Miller ($7.8)
Denver Receives:*
Turiaf ($4.36M), Billups ($14.2)
Dallas Trades:
Chandler ($14.5)
Dallas Receives:
Trade exception ($14.5)
*Denver can absorb the extra salaries because they are under the cap
i don't think anyone knows the particulars yet.
supposedly Indiana has cap room and is open to receiving pieces, too, as a landing spot for Turiaf.
i just hope it doesn't fall apart - Billups will be PISSED to report to the Knicks at this rate.
or aminesty Billups and sign chandler 4yr 58 mil which is how its going to happen
my main concern is that using the amnesty on a one-year player that they could have let go during the offseason would be a monumental mismanagment of a very valuable asset.

i would hope the Knicks see that as a last resort.

but the only situation where it would be a "valuable" asset would be for long term contracts you don't want that are already on you roster: Amare, Melo.

right, you can only do it on players signed before this CBA. so only a very few guys on the roster would qualify. toney, balkman, amare, melo, turiaf, billups, i think.

sorry, but Amare is suspect and will always be suspect when it comes to injuries. the back, the knees -- it's not a good outlook. i'd save it for insurance.
further, controlling Billups destination (i.e. keeping him away from Miami) would also be another benefit of trading him back to Denver.

to get the cap room for that deal they need to get BOTH Billups and Turiaf off the cap.

On Knicks-Chandler front, sources say it looks like Billups will be amnestied and Turiaf will be sent out in separate deal. No sign/trade.

oh damn. i did forget about him. that's how bad he played in the playoffs.
why would Denver want turiaf. Does billups and his contract expire after next year?

Where is the Hill to Spurs news... that's kind of surprising.

i thought denver might take turiaf to partially make up for losing Nene. use turiaf, birdman and mozgov as a 3-headed monster.
