The Hornets have started to inform teams that they're sending Chris Paul to the Lakers for Bynum and Odom, league sources tell Y! Sports.

Stern must hate Sterling.

David Stern definitely put the fix in for this one.

Bynum and Odom for Chris Paul. LULZ.

BigDaddyG @ 12/8/2011 6:06 PM
Well, at least that's out of the way. Bring on the Dwight Howard rumors.
AnubisADL @ 12/8/2011 6:07 PM
I guess Paul gave the Melo (Knicks) the word and we moved forward with T. Chandler
ATrain @ 12/8/2011 6:07 PM
He just corrected himself. Its for Gasol and Odom

Correction: The proposed deal to the Lakers is Chris Paul for Pau Gasol and Lamar Odom, source says.

Even worse...........

Gasol - 30 yrs old
Odom - 32 yrs old

for

Paul - 26 yrs old

Lakers get to keep

Bynum - 24 yrs old

the correction makes me think this is less confirmed than the initial tweet would imply.
eViL @ 12/8/2011 6:10 PM
although now Ken Berger is reporting this as well.
NYY1NYK2 @ 12/8/2011 6:12 PM
Look at it this way.... The lakers strength was their size Gasol and bynum 7ft, odom 6'11
They lose gasol both a scoring option and decent presence, odom scorer off the bench
Hopefully someone else takes howard, and the lakers wouldnt be that much of a threat
martin @ 12/8/2011 6:13 PM
NOH now have Odom, Okafor, Gasol, and rights to David West... something has to give.
eViL @ 12/8/2011 6:13 PM
my hope is that this all blows up in Mike Brown's face (afterall, Phil Jackson replacements don't usually fare well), Kobe breaks down, and CP3 is forced to leave in free agency.
Silverfuel @ 12/8/2011 6:14 PM
That means Dwight to LA is next. Damn, Lakers are building a monster in LA.

how? THey just blew their wad

Childs2Dudley @ 12/8/2011 6:16 PM
Lakers once again gifted a superstar for what amounts to nothing.

Gasol is on the decline and Odom is an old, overpaid, overrated player.

gunsnewing @ 12/8/2011 6:19 PM
main question is what happens to khloe & lamar

You are right. Pau and Odom being gone will make it real tough. But the way I see it, Dwight is not staying in Orlando. He wants to go to a warm weather town. Orlando wants a center in return for Dwight. LA just has to be creative. If LA starts the season with Kobe, CP3 and Bynum, its really not that much of an upgrade from last season.
Silverfuel @ 12/8/2011 6:23 PM
P.S: I am just happy Amare is going to stay in NYC.

NY front line is going to beast out.
matt @ 12/8/2011 6:30 PM
Hmm.. With Paul to lakers, maybe if Cavs amnesty Davis he'll come here now, since we need a semi-capable pg
VCoug @ 12/8/2011 6:30 PM
Holy crap, things have really gone crazy the past 24 hours. Does he go to Lakers? Bulls? Nets? Maybe Clippers? These past two offseasons are the best thing to happen to the NBA since Jordan.
