debatable whether the lakers have a better shot at the finals than the knicks. they're in serious turmoil right now.

With the way sterlling belittled him, why wouldn't he want a shot at redemption.

perhaps. but would he want to play in the same building as his old team, right when they get chris paul?

knicks are in the race. i think they'll get him. miami and lakers are always in the race, too. here we go.

Do you think were better then the HEAT or The LAKERS..maybe, maybe not, but we all three have a few things in common, "The lack of a true play making PG" badly, all three are in big markets with at least 2 bonifde allstar/super star.

Without being Bias, where would you go?? WITHOUT BEING BIAS..

well, i'm completely biased against lebron, but i think the heat would be the best opportunity for a ring.

but baron in new york honestly seems like the best fit. he fits what the knicks need and he's said over and over that he loves the garden - and it doesn't ring false like when lebron says it.

we'll see, but i think he is serious about NY.

I swear it must be taught at agency school on the first day "use the Knicks to gain attention for your client"- everyone does it! If there is no interest in a FA, their agent releases a rumour that they are interested in signing with the Knicks, the media all start to report it, then suddenly they sign with a different team. In Gilberts case, he's probably concerned that no on wants to sign him, even for the minimum, so his agent has released this story. Gilbert will never sign with us- he's done physically, and mentally- he's a broken man.

A few years ago, I would have been happy to get Davis, but not now. I think Bibby is the better option. Behind him, Douglas and Shumpert are just fine.
BigDaddyG @ 12/18/2011 2:03 PM
I say we sign Davis asap.I'm confident in TD, but it takes a while for 's offense to click. It even took Felton awhile to get the hang of it last year. It would be nice to have another veteran here who can play the position. As for Arenas, we already have a rookie combo guard and a third-year combo guard. I'm not in too much of a hurry to add washed up combo-guard to that list. Plus, Arena is insane....
shizzee @ 12/18/2011 3:13 PM
Best option is to land someone can run this offense. Teams like Utah Houston and Pacers have 4 pg's Both Collison and Dragic backups are better PG than Douglas. I have no faith with Douglas game, Arenas heart, BD knees.

I heard rush for amundson rumor here is another option

Pacers get Amundson Douglas Warriors get Balkman Fields Knicks get Collison Rush

I think the Jazz will cut either Watson Reynolds Tinsley MCleod or amnesty Harris

Collison Bogans Melo Stat Chandler
Tinsley Shumpert Rush Jorts Jeffries

Great, just what we need. A waiver wire back injury, and a headcase with off-courtbaggage.
SupremeCommander @ 12/19/2011 9:26 AM
Didn't the Davis/Arenas experiment already fail? I have ZERO interest in a Marbury/Francis redux

We will also need a fresh supply of towels for when Arenas is pouting on the bench.
We got Baron, can we stop with this Arenas hype already?

MarburyAnd1Crossover @ 12/19/2011 10:27 AM
We don't know if Arenas will ever recover some respectable form. I wish him the best but his game was hit hard and time is running out to adapt his approach.
NYKBocker @ 12/19/2011 10:49 AM
Arenas would implode this team.
nyk4ever @ 12/19/2011 11:00 AM
there couldn't be a worse thing for this team than arenas.
martin @ 12/19/2011 11:07 AM
arenas not gonna sniff even a looksie from Glen. none. Knicks will snag a SF/PF for the last spot.

First let me say, I'm probably the only Ultimateknick fan that actually played against a young (college level) Arenas back in Tucson, AZ. I'm also the only one that has friends that still plays with the current Arenas here in Bmore / DC.

Arenas was nasty before his surgery and still nasty after his surgery. He's still one of the best offensive players in the game right now, with a deadly jumpshot from anywhere (when he's hot).

The problem is that he's always been a volume shooter. And as you get older, you become more of a volume shooter, because it takes time to get your rhythm. I personally know all about that.

After saying all that, HELL NO.....I would not even think about adding Arenas to this team. Simply put, he carries too much baggage right now, and really doesn't fill a need for this team.

We need a player who doesn't need to take 30 shots just to get hot. Doesn't need the ball to be an impact player. A solid locker room player with no baggage or chemistry issues with leadership qualities. We need to add players that loves to play both ends. Understands their role, and knows how to play with cocky, high confident super stars.

Arenas is still a solid player, just not the right fit..........

Michael6835 @ 12/19/2011 11:33 AM
we have enough offense on this team.

We need glue guys\role players not to well... "play their role"

Collison is a pretty good point guard and on a low salary. Although George Hill is a good combo guard, I don't see Pacers letting him go with that Rookie deal.
They look like they are one or 2 pieces away to become legit contenders. They will have to decide who will be their core with

Hibbert 2year 6.2m with last year being QO ****
PF
Granger 3year 40m ****
SG
Collison 3year 7m ***

SG? George Hill or have him at the 6th man role 2year 5.2m, last year is QO **
PF/F Hansbrough 3year 9m, last year is QO **

Paul George
Brandon Rush 4year 13m, with last year being QO, not sure if he is traded or not yet... *
James Posey 1year 7m (think he is amnestied but not sure)

Dahntay Jones 2year 4.6m with last year being a QO
Aj Price 1year 900k
Lance Stephonson 1year 800k

Pacers

Realistically, I don't think our future 1st round picks are worth much value at this point. Players like Collison, should receive a package of young players or packaged for
a "star" to add to the core. Collison did great his year where he took over the PG spot and filled in for Cp3's injury and next years recovery. I think, feeling threatened for his job, Cp3 made New Orleans choose between Collison and him. Cp3 didn't want any rumors of his losing PT or slow recovery, losing value when he knew he was going to opt out and
going for a new contract at the time. Hibbert, Rush, George Hill, and Dahntay Jones all have qualifying offers next year with Jones having a player option.
A core of Hibbert, Granger, Collison, and a 6th player in Hill is actually pretty talented. However, these days, the trios or combination of all stars and stars,
makes this lineup look weaker than it actually is. Hibbert is a young talented center, in which teams don't look give up easily.

With this years centers getting their big pay day, you can expect Hibbert and McGee to follow in their peers footsteps. After Dwight Howard, Tim Duncan, Chris Kaman, and Marcus Camby
Hibbert and McGee both are the youngest of the FA, with still room to improve, vs the experience of the veterans in FA in the summer. In my opinion, their talents, size, and potential are around the same level of Marc Gasol and Deandre Jordan. Their games are different but their results are similar, someone will open the wallets up
for a chance to acquire their talents. With this summer, being a strong draft, the Pacers and Wizards both will need to observe and decide to keep their centers
or to use this strong draft to continue rebuilding. Pacers have some nice pieces around them, with salary cap room, and picks coming up, with this year being a strong draft.
Whether they will decide to build around this core, make some tweaks, or deal Hibbert/Granger for picks/young players will have to be decided...

Also, metal detectors and bullet proof vests.
