He looked Steve Nash-ish on defense last night on his 2 minute show
It is inevitable that he gets some minutes soon. With the horrendous PG play of Douglas* and Bibby making that a foregone conclusion. It is actually better for him to not be rushed in as he needs a few weeks, or rather days (I momentarily forgot he went to Harvard) to pick up the plays. (Then again, do we have offensive plays?)
I really really look forward to him getting some minutes.
Note - I really like Douglas, just not as a starting PG. As a starting or backup SG (if we have a taller PG to guard opposing SG's) and for moments as a backup PG he is fine, actually quite good for the former.
Unless he can show something in practice and against Douglas, I am beginning to think he won’t see minutes unless is garbage time.

There hardly are any practices. If Douglas continues his poor PG play (As well as Bibby) then MDA is going to have no choice but to put Lin and have him learn while being thrown in the fire. Sometimes that's the best way, sometimes it's the worst.

I really hope you are right but I don't expect Lin to be tested by
unless he sees more (a couple more weeks), by that time I hope Shump is back.

You can't rely on Shump to be the PG. The man is a scorer, and quite frankly, I like how he does it. Asking him to be a PG is going to be a HUGE mistake. Asking him to start in place of Fields is the way to go. If Lin is the guy that's advertised and he's really a PG, then at least a couple of problems will be fixed.
stubborn is as stubborn does - he won't play him meaningful minutes. Last night even with the game out of reach with 4 minutes left, he would not put him in. Only the last 1:30

He is considered a combo guard actually.

Lin's natural position is PG. His "problem" is that he can also play the 2 well due to his size, defense, and scoring ability, so Harvard, Reno, and GS each used him at the 2 when needed. Ultimately, Lin can play and defend the point, and is best when called upon to make decisions and play smart ball.

Well we all know what happens when we rely on combo guards to be our PGs. Shumpert can dribble penetrate, shoot, create his own shot, pull up, defend, make some nice passes when needed and he has a bit of an ego. Those are the BEST aspects of his game that will help a team win. Why would we take that from him so we can do something that he's probably either OK at or not very good at, kinda like what we are doing with TD right now.
It would be like asking Hakeem Nicks to suddenly become the quarterback of the Giants. That's going to spell doom and we are all going to want to excommunicate the kid.

We are at a point when we might as well ask him to be the PG for the Knicks.

MDA can put Jorts at PG and will get the same results that TD gives.
