+1 a very good point everyone on here should be able to agree on. I say, let's go Nets! single digit wins for the shortened season is a possibility! ![]()

+1+ excellent point and words to live by.
Watching exKnicks play and noting excellence is fine, but when it constantly degrades into a whine and smegma party over a trade that's never going to be undone, or redone then it's pointless. And irritating.
Like most posting on here.
Except for martin's posts.

Doubt it. But this is because Melo made their hair fall out.

42 and 17 in a playoff game? Yup. Durant, Dirk and whoever else will take them everytime. They have that special player. Denver does not. Atlanta Hawks west.

I beg to differ.
Ultimate Nuggets is ''Denver Stiffs'', which I now read frequently and nobody really there misses Melo.
They do aknowledge though that they're in dire need of someone to be the closer that they currently don't have, but they seem to think stronlgy that Melo was no the good guy for that.
I do think that if there is a place Melo can write his name in the NBA history books, that place is NYC.
As Marbury in his time, overly talented but somewhat of a headcase (don't ever forget that Marbury was unguardable at some point in his career), NY will make or break Melo.
And as a Knick fan since '91, I am more than hopeful he'll be able to go beyond what he used to be to bring us a championship.

Those threads are indeed useless.
Overhyping a player (ie: each time Melo scores over 30) or putting him under the ground each time he plays bad (ie: melo against GSW) is just as useless.Players are human beings, prone to make mistakes.
Sometimes they play well, sometimes not.
Some of them have more talent than others.
Some of them work harder than others.
Some are divas, some are good teammates.
etc. Most of time, biased narrow minded fans make biased narrow minded posts that lead nowhere except to some short term ego boost... The ''I told you so syndrome'' if you will.
Truth is most of time not plainted in blacks or whites, but more in shadows of grey.
Let's just try to enjoy the game for what it is, since we missed it so much over the last few months.
Go Knicks. Go Nuggets. Go every freaking team that play good ball.
And oh, fuck the Nets, just because, you know.
It goes both ways, man. After the trade there were a ton of Knuggets threads and bring back Gallo threads which was a bit annoying. Not to mention, those we were against the trade also started threads where they were calling Melo a Diva, hated the idea that he smiled on the court (imagine a grown man smiling while playing a game, the nerve of him; somebody smack Magic Johnson on the back of his head!) and pretty much nit-picked and ragged on Melo. I agree, I think its time to let it go and move on...both ways. I root for the Blue and Orange. Melo wears blue and orange so I root for him. Gallo no longer wears Blue and Orange so I could care less what he does...
I think that there is a lot of misunderstanding on all that story.
For one, I was really mad when taht trade went down (still is) not because of Melo, who is an awesome talent and the best we got for ages, but for how much the franchise has paid to get him. And seeing how Mozgov defended bynum at times, and how Gallo without being a star can be a great player to have on your starting 5, I get a little worried we really overpaid.
All our eggs are in the same basket now, we're all in. We have to win now or we'll be fucked again for years.
Thing is, the team to beat is miami and all rosters should be benchmarked to it.
And if you can't beat miami when you're all in, what's the point of allining?
So now, we're in ring or bust mode, there is no other path, wichh generate a lot of expectations from the fans and the media.

You have to pay the price for top tier talent. Had we nixed the deal and remained status quo, forget Miami, we would be competing with the Bucks and Sixers for thr 8th spot in the East. Gallo is a nice player to have in your starting 5 is akin to saying he's a nice complimentary piece. You dont beat the beat the Heat or compete for championships with complintary pieces.
We have players on our roster right now that can go head up with the Heats best. Melo not only gives Lebron fits, but has a winning record against him in the regular season. Amare is a better player than Bosh and can nulify his affectiveness and tyson Chandler gives us that plug in the middle that can bother the Heat who is not a jump shooting team but an attack the basket team. Not saying we are a better team than the Heat right now, but we certainly can compete with them on a level that the previous team could never dream of. BTW, Melo is 27, Amare, I believe is about 28 as is Chandler. We have star power and we are still young. We are all in, but in should last about 4-5 years...Its alot harder to land the star player than it is to find complimentary pieces. We were a team full if complimentary pieces for the last 8-10 years and it landed us outside of the playoffs every time. We have the star players so now its easier to plug the holes...

No team is static. There are always changes made and other opportunities.
That said, its always possible to have made smaller deals to yield improvement.
We are all in with Melo now and have to live with growing pains.
Lets hope chemistry yields great results, Shump is greater than his draft position, and Baron has a stong back and wants to stay for a while at a good price.

They indeed don't seem to.
Lets not get too excited about our slow start. But don't gloat about when our former sons fall short.
We are far from being able to be so smug.

We'd be working on another trade by now. No way Paul or Dwight goes without knicks going all in on them.

Exactly, and I would have loved to see what the system could have done with a great pg like Paul.

On to something as in a .500 team and no chance for a championship
Is he Melo? No and will never be. Is he a player on a championship level team? I say Yes.

Like I said, we would have gone on to bid on another player.
Dolan cashed in all the chips. Nobody thought another "Star" would be available, but Paul and Dwight are.
