Everybody knows Rodgers is the best in the game, but Tom Brady is still pretty dam good! It's the old trading the position of strength problem, we're already good there.
Right now got to say no. It would be a mistake. We'd have chemistry issues all over again and we'd wouldn't have a consistent scorer inside especially come playoff time. Dwight shrinks Mare excels

Amare=Beast Mode in the Playoffs
Dwight=Hack a Dwight in the 4th qtr of playoff games, see him build a homeless shelter at the FT line

Tom Brady doesn't have the Same Talented receivers that Rodgers has. Out side of Brady's TE's and Welker they have decent receivers. Rodgers has a better Receiving core. Finely is not far behind Gronk. Nelson,Driver,Jenning's > Welker,Branch and Chad Johnson.
Green Bay also has had the easiest schedule in the NFL. Only played a few top 10 defenses. Last year Brady played atleast 8 of the top 10 defenses and posted 33 TD's and 4 ints. 14-2 with a shit defense. Don't get me wrong Rodgers is great but what Brady did last season against the defenses he faced last season. Brady had a tougher schedule last season and this season.

Should we start a football thread in the Off Topic Forums?
Just wanted to make a comparison, let's say Dwight Howard is #1 Center and (Top 3 player) in the league. Amare is maybe top 3 or 4 PF and Top 10-12 player in league. You already have a top 3 Small forward and top 10 Center (Finished 3rd in Defensive Player of the Year). So you already have 3 Top 10 players in the frontcourt, and to get that #1 Center you lose the top front court in the NBA, scrap whatever chemistry was developing, and start from scratch. You downgrade, because Chandler will have to be involved, and Turkeydoodoo is a clear downgrade at whatever position he plays, as well as, being stuck with Hedo for the next 3 years...Just a terrible idea all around.

What are the better packages? Brook Lopez is a gimp and Bynum could fold like a house of cards at any time. Amar'e has had his injury issues but since his last major incident, the eyeball, he has proved durable.
That is what I was saying earlier. It would be between the knicks and Lakers. But I think the Lakers have better pieces
Pau Gasol and Andrew Bynum is the trump card. That's better than any other offer could be. Question is - would the Lakers do it. So far, they've been reluctant.
The thing I keep thinking about in this type of scenario is this: Kobe, Hedo, Dwight, Artest.... and ?
In 2 years Kobe is 35 and the Lakers are capped out still. What does Dwight look forward to?
I thought about that too. Why would you want to go play with Kobe who is already past his prime but still has good basketball in him. Wouldn't he rather play with someone who is also in their prime? Like Rose or Dwill.
yeah, it's a good point.
and makes the Lakers trade of Lamar Odom look that much worse.
Fisher
Kobe
Artest
Odom
Dwight
with Hedo off the bench is solid. without odom? Hedo starts? ugh.
but someone up thread said Amar'e and Tyson is a better offer than Pau and Bynum... I don't know about that. I don't think that's true.
and I don't think Amar'e is traded... unless this season is a big disappointment, they bring in a new coach, maybe they look to move him next summer.

could swear I saw a report today saying they were willing to part with Pau and Bynum.
Orland does not want to lose him for nothing like Shaq but, no way do they move him for a guy with uninsurable knees who, is possibly one knee collision from being a role player. That would be just as bad as getting nothing for Howard. It ain't happening.
Over the last five years Amar'e has averaged 75 games played a season, where Bynum is 55 per season for his entire career and he's had major injuries in each of the last four years. Amar'e has many 70 and 80 game years under his belt.
Bynum is a bigger injury risk than Amar'e, by a long shot.
Amar'e-Tyson is a better package than Pau-Bynum.
This is missing the main point of STATs contract being uninsured. Bynum's is.

In my opinion:
Melo + Amar'e + Chandler >>>>>>>> Dwight + Melo + whatever
because that whatever will be Turkeyglue or whatever he can fetch on the market
Damn! This guy put up 45/23 last night.
This is why Melo+Dwight+Hedo > Melo+Amar'e+Chandler, to my mind.

No, it's why Dwight > http://espn.go.com/nba/team/roster/_/nam...
After the Memphis game, this is not so crazy.
Dwight> Melo + Amare + Chandler.

If the CBA allowed it, I'd gladly give Orlando our entire roster for Dwight Howard. It would be a chance to start over and we could spend the next 8 years building around him.
We could build a great team around Melo/Howard/Shumpert and a new defensive minded coach. Make it happen.
Still don't get what's so special about Dwight Howard. Dude's a fantasy player! Fills up the stat sheet nothing more. He's been in the league 8 years, and he couldn't even sniff what a great center is all about. No post moves, crappy FT shooter...does this guy even have a Jumper? Olajuwon in his prime would eat this guy for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner. He couldn't hold a candle to the original Superman, Shaq! Guy is just David Robinson without a jumper!
Howard alone ensures an elite defense. We wouldn't even need Shumpert honestly. Melo, Howard and shooters to space the floor makes us an instant contender. unlike Amare, Howard is used to creating his own offense. he's never playe with a point guard in his caree and he had one of the best post games in the league after Hakeem's tutelage.
Turkoglu is a stretch four, which is what you NEED with both Melo and Howard on the same team. Hes a lethal shooter, playmaker, pnr option, major mismatch, could be a bench scorer/facilitator.
I'd give up Amare, Chandler and Shumpert for Howard and Turk.
Baron
Fields
Melo
Turk
Howard
Douglas
Walker
Balk
Harrelson
Jeffries
contender. you can be competitive with superstars and a thin roster as long as there are legitimate shooters and the team plays defense

David Lee is a fantasy player. Dwight Howard is a force.
It's true, there are some shorts in his game, but this is not so important; they said the same thing about Shaq.
Who can guard this guy? No one. Who will score on him? No one.
The guy is defensive player of the year for three years.

God I wish we could put Dwight Howard in Shaq's, Ewing's, Olajuwon's era...then you'd see how great he'd be
He's lucky to be in a center-less era where being 6'10 and 250 lbs constitutes a center..SMH

This is probably true.
But the reality is that he is in this era, and he is far ahead of any center in the game.

I think a lot of people feel this way. I am one of them. And let's not sell off Mar'e just yet. I've said he's hurting us the most right now, but we need to hold off judgment until he has a PG feeding him.

dude is a rebounding machine. Amare is more of a fantasy player. Who does Dwight play with? 23 rebounds? when was the last time amare had more than 14 rebounds I think Dwight hits that every 3 games. Dwight's defense is on level 10 while amare is a 5 at best. He's that bad on D. How many times have we seen Amare in position to make a play on a lay up or dunk and he just steps aside when Dwight challenges the shot. "But Amare" this and that. He doesn't try to contest lays or dunks cause he doesn't want to get embarrassed. When Dwight gets the ball in the paint he is hard to stop. Now Amare fumbles the ball and has zero post game. He plays like a SF with no handles.
