First winning season since Van Gundy's 48 wins in 2000-2001.
40 different players over 3 years; still makes playoffs last season.
Felton dropping 17/9 on a winning team. Felton 11/6 since leaving.
Season sabotaged by robbing him of the one thing he asks for: a halfway-decent point guard.
Good things happen when you stick with your coach, even better things when you work with him.
Celtics stuck with Rivers through 3 terrible years, then gave him a team and good things happened.
Mike's proven, you give him a team and he will make it rain.
April 1st is a just a few months away...This thread could have waited...
So you deny that he lead us to the first winning season in 10 years?
You deny that Ray Felton was scoring 17 points per game with 9 assists on a winning team, and since leaving has only managed 11 points and 6 assists?
The simplest solution is to acquire a point guard. Any way you can do it.
The worst solution is to fire the coach.
No. The Knicks don't just look bad. They look like guys who have never played this game. That's on the coach. He has enough to be at least .500. It's not entirely his fault but he has a fair share of the blame.

So he forgot how to coach since last season?
Simplest solution is to find a point guard any way you can make it happen.
If I didn't know better, I would say they intentionally sabotaged his chances this year by yanking the most position from the team.
Nah. Be unstable and fire D'Antoni.

I don't think he forgot how to coach. I just dont think the players are responding and he is not holding anyone accountable. Its not all on him and I get that he's had roster turnover. But he himself said this is a championship roster. They should at least be respectable and they are far from it. At some point it's the coaches responsibility.

You don't understand, it'S the D'Antony's fault if:
- marbury was a headcase
- crawful was shooting us out of games
- spoon was getting rejected all the freaking time
- Qyntel Woods botched that stupid 360 while we were loosing the game by at least 20 points
- KT couldn't jumpo over a pancake
- Mardy Collins was not Allen Iverson
- Anfernee Hardaway had bionic knees but didn't have any oil left to make them work
- Nazr Mohammed was the key to the deal
- Mike Sweetney was overweight
- Vin Baker was a drunk
- Frank Williams was overweight
- shandon anderson could score
- Eisley couldn't pass
- Melo doesn't want to pass
- Curry couldn't keep his weight down
- Dice couldn't just walk
- Othella harrington played like Othella harrington, which was way worse than playing like let's say, Bruno Sundov
- Larry Hughes was disgruntled
- Tim Thomas only played when he wanted to
- Zach Randolph invented new ways to dribble on his feet
- Trevor Ariza was not kept although he was a promising young player
- Stat doesn't understand what boxing out means
- Moochie Norris had a weird haircut
- Chris Duhon couldn't last a full season at full speed while partying every night
- J.R. Giddens had that weird alien look
- Jared Jeffries was the glue and as such never bled when hit on his mouth
- Darko Milicic was out of shape and didn't care cause he was a badass russian hitman wannabe
- Nate Robinson was a human circus
- Jerome James had one good playoff series in his career and got a full MLE for that
- Quentin Richardson was overweight
- Malik Rose was LOL Malik fucking Rose that couldn't jump, shoot, pass or dribble
- Tracy Mc Grady was not Tracy Mc Grady
- Chris Wilcox was finished
- Renaldo Balkman smoked too much pot
- David Lee was not 7ft tall
- Steve Francis was added to the Knicks
- Channing Frye had only one ball and a small one on top of that
- Jackie Butler never paned out
- DerMarr Johnson had a broken neck when we got him
It is D'Antony'S fault for all of this, and for that, he have to be fired.
This time, it's gonna be different, trust me.

how do you hold someone accountable? Call them out in media or not play them?
I would give D'Antoni until the end of the season but if the teamed plays half-assed lazy basketball, I'd chuck the Pringles in the trash and go with something fresh and something that is more aligned with the NY Knicks tradition. How long did Don Nelson get again?

Insanity.
One I think having AMare and Felton and CHndler and Gallo had more to do with a winnning record initially than MDA. Two we lost more games than we won last year.
It looks like he did forget how to coach. What do these guys do in practice anyway? Honestly, aside from all the scandals, Isiah did a better job coaching than this clown.

I'm not really sure. I've never coached. But I do see that players are doing the same thing every game. Turnovers, too many 3s, not hitting the open guy. Good coaches correct problems. He can't correct poor shooting but he has to be able to adjust and make his players see what they are doing wrong. To me it doesn't look like anything is being worked on. I say that because as i said before we are doing the same things every game.
Extend MDA? WTF after 4 seasons? some of you guys need to stop deep throating MDA.

and this is the quandary for all coaches in the NBA, and especially ones on the last year of their deal.
Players own guarantee contracts. And those not on a 1 year deal can't really be held accountable, especially in a situation like the Knicks are in. Bench Amare cause he doesn't box out? Possible, but not very reasonable. Bench TD cause of awful play... better have another PG that can fill his role instantly. And so on.

I know when the Knicks lost to the Bucks Skiles held Jackson out of the game because of issues. I know Cousins was kept away from the team in Sac because of issues. D'Antoni doesn't have any guys with the maturity or character issues of those guys but he certainly is the guy that sets the line up.
