Thats a fair point. I mean like they say talk is cheap prove it on the court. when i play i dont trashtalk because you look foolish if ou dont succeed. He should just go out and shut up the critics thats the best way to do it
Off-FENSE
Mr Carmelo Anthony had to go on ISO plays because the guard play was non-existant. Douglas barely could be trusted to advance the ball past midcourt and Shump was learning on the job with no summer league and no practice. No one else on the roster was adept at creating his shot. No one.
As a result, the other four of the floor stood and watched while Carmelo tried his best to create with stationary runing buddies... AND brought the ball upcourt on occasion. It was jacked up, not because of Carmelo, but because there was not a reasonable facsimile of a guard on the floor. The Knicks offense had to work for every shot and three pointers became a shaky crutch. 28 three's in one game? C'mon son!
With that said, it is on defense where the Knicks new playing personality was formed. If Carmelo wants to endear himself to the crowd at The Garden, all he needs to do is take a page from the Charles Oakley book - and dive into the second row after a loose ball.

You're 125% right NO GUARD play
and the rally-killing Toney 'Fredrick' Douglas killing us all with his zeal to hoist up jumpers and turnovers anywhere
anytime to play himself out of his funk. Douglas could care less about PG or developing some passing skills he's a scorer
and not a good one at that!
You cited my main man Charles 'oakman' Oakley and the DJ got all very excited ! ! ! those were the days my friend Oak/Ew

Well i made a point before that maybe all the questions Melo is getting hit with with is a good thing. Melo now has something to prove that he can move without the ball and get others involved. now he has the talent to do that i just hope mentally he can

DJ - you shoulda been with The Answer Man the night he watched the playoffs with Oak.
It was a blast.
If Stat and Amare would focus on defense and rebounding, their offense will flow naturally because they will be able to fastbreak and get early possession good shots as well. Look at how Ron Harper transformed from a flashy offensive player with the Clippers to one of the top NBA wing defenders with the champion Bulls. If Amare and Melo are willing to do that on D, the Knicks would be near unstoppable. A big IF though.
