I don't understand how he wasn't considered.

Kenny, Barkley, Reggie and the TNT crew was the reason Shump is not in the Rookie-Soph game. They were killing Shump that night when he took 25+ shots.

but does that surprise you the media take 1 game and run with it all the time in creating assumptions that then the average follower takes as reality

At this stage in the game, it's a league issue in rewarding players they feel are deserving. I'm sure Lin will be getting plenty of fan votes next season. NBA getting him on Saturday night is a fine way to capitalize on his new stardom without passing up more deserving players (this year) in the ASG.
