Say what you wanna about MELO
MELO is into the game
whether he makes a hard foul OR draws a foul vs. a foe
Tyson Chandler & J.Lin is "Into the game"
Whether down OR up they show emotions. Even Tyson with the silly T', he didnt take any mess from Kris H.
And we all know that was a referree GIFT call, Humphries played well and hard but all the ticky tacky stuff was vs. Tyson
Jeremy Lin pumps his fist and is into the game. Always looking for mates and running the offense
Amare Stoudemire is one of 12 guys, who settles for just that !
he's not into the game whether Offensively or Defensively
He isnt the same guy from last season. He's taking up space & filling useless stats
if he isnt going to be an impact When club needs him.
Mentally, emotionally, pyschologically and physically he is only into game in 2-3 minutes when outcome isnt decided
and rarely wants the 'Rock' to do anything useful with it.
There is your $100mil. guy whom is a star, one of my favorites is fading away 2011/2012
He isn't into the game enough to really help this team consistently. He's a FORWARD version of Toney Douglass with
slightly more offense since that is all he simply seems like he's most interested in these days~ !
I give him a pass on the death of his brother. Maybe he's taking it harder then we think. This isn't a forever pass, it's a "right now" sort of thing.

And before his brother's death?
It doesn't matter what he's looked like this season so far. We just need him to be right by the playoffs. In the end we also have to see if perhaps this is just a temporary down swing. It's funny how people don't seem to realize that players have slumps and periods of bad play. Doesn't mean the player is done for his career. Just too much knee jerk reaction to things that happen on this team.
How quick we are to forget how Amare led the Knicks last season before Melo's arrival. Playing though injury, through flu is one thing. A death is another, let's give him room so he come back strong mentally by playoff time.

The death excuse is not working. He looked just as bad before his brother died.
You have guys that have been the man all their career now trying to learn how to play roles. It is going to take time for Melo and Stat to fit into what the team is doing. I think Stat will come around in time.

I think Melo will come around. Don't know about Stat because he looks like drek and he lost his explosiveness. I love the guy and respect him for helping turn this franchise around but I think we might seriously regret not saving our amnesty for him.

+ 1.
Think some fans need to admit that 2 months into the season he should be in playing form. He lost a step. He has become the weakest link. Chandler at this point is more valuable to this team with his defense and ability to run the pick and roll.
Amare has yet to take fully advantage of the pick & roll we see with LIN
However the point of the post is Amare gets a free pass around here.. Why ?
Listen I love Amare S. but I'm disappointed in his game since the injury of last season before
the limp playoff appearance where its admirable he try to play but MELO carried Knicks in Celts sweep
Folks forget MELO special games by himself Gutty vs champs like Celtics & want to bury MELO now cause of poor shooting or bad
Melo season for his standards
Amare is getting a pass
BUT if knicks limp around into playoffs around .500 and bow out early its MELO and MDA whom get KILLED in press
and NBA Media. Amare a nice man isnt going to get any flak!
He's happy being just 1 of the other guys. The injury last yr this isnt the same Stoudemire. No Fire no desire.
I am very very sorry about his brother lost & you cant imagine what Amare goes thru. But he's been as bad before
that tragic loss of family.
Amare hasn't stepped up to anything!
He isn't reliable Nor has won any games for Knicks in a long long time.
Knicks aren't going far with their star PF playing inconsistent as he did vs HEAT the other night
& getting schooled by Bosh. Lord knows Amare says already things about Chris Bosh and so far hasnt backed up a thang ! in recent yrs
If MELO and MDA is on their way out to blame for Knicks not improving I do not see this being fair
when Amare's game is far south of the border! Thats a fact jack
all the talk of Amar'e adjusting to a role, etc.
But he can't hit wide open jumpers. What is up with that?

gotta be the back. it's all related.

I agree. I don't think you can question Amare's heart and determination. I think he is trying to work thru an injury that just isn't healing. The back obviously was still a concern because he wore those funky shorts all through training camp to help him maintain proper posture.
I'm just curious to see the reaction if STAT has a big 2nd half. His back does concern me, though.
TheRealist wrote:I'm just curious to see the reaction if STAT has a big 2nd half.
my reaction would be joy. but i don't expect that at all, unfortunately.
I think Stoudemire's inability to finish at the rim is more concerning than his effort level right now.

I think that indicates an injury. Amare was Blake Griffin before Blake Griffin.
It's the goggles. He needs to get rid of the goggle.
Before his tragedy it looked like he was coming back to form. I'm hoping the week of practice gets him comfortable with that mid range jumper. That's the key to his whole game. He still gets past his defender rather easily when they play too close to him but until he hits that mid range again defenders will sag.

If its the back same injury /old operation
then why dont the Knicks just SHUT down AMARE for 1-2 wks ?
They got Melo and wont be any worse without him
I dont get it
The man had problems with injury at season end /playoffs last yr
we heard of no work or procedure post treatmeants long before the NBA strike this yr
Its like Amare was sick last yr end with bad back & the work to have him prepared or stronger this season was
lacking ? Dont get it
I know the back isnt a simple thing but if he really wasnt ready for the season WHY
fool the public ? He is playing for his current contract$$$ and can't play ? what good does it do Knicks eh ?
I aint surprised the Knicks/Dolan would try to cover up this thing
I'd felt better if we heard Amare was going to a specialist in off season with NYK docs
we heard none of that!
but we get this mess & 1/5 player in Amare which used to be
SHUT down Stoudermire cause he's hurting Knicks and Tyson Chandler isnt getting any help from him
I'd rather go out and sign Wilson Chandler a F/SF whom can play BIG cause of his shotblocking ability
bring him in
Defensively he's alot better than Amare
There is something fishy with this Amare situation. If he was playing better alot of criticism would not be coming to MELO
whom's been hurt also physically but you'd never know it. Melo is spirited and chippy as ever Win/Lose or Draw
You cant say that again about Amare & we used to can depend on Amare for toughness and comeback attitude
He seems content on going to the bench more than ever know & I dont like it!
This isn't the same team that necessarily need to be carried by Amar'e. I say, if his back is still bothering him a lot, give him all the rest he needs.
Its evident we don't need "hurting" Amar'e out there because he isn't the offensive threat we need nor he tries enough on D. If his back is hurting, sit for a month or something. I think it will be enough to comeback in time to get your game going for the playoffs. But if its his back, he should rest.
We play fine when Jeffries is out there. Jorts will come back soon. Get yourself healthy, Amar'e.
