Look we know melo and amare are suspect defenders which is why they gave up billups.
But tyson is our defensive anchor...notice when he went to the bench in foul trouble in our last two losses we struggled big time. problem I have with him is that his fouls are ridiculous..and the techs are adding up..this is a big problem..we have loss all of our games when he's in foul trouble early...nobody is making a big deal about it's.but his impact is a huge loss.besides that's him not link are our best pnr duo..
SFX: crickets
Really?
With everything Tyson Chandler has brought in leadership, defensive INTENSITY, rugged/ unselfish play in the tradition of Charles Oakley and the fact he plays despite pain - the best you can do is whine about his tech's as "Part of the Problem"?

WTYM (Word to yo momma)
the real problem is tyson being the only genuine rebounding big man on the roster
I love Tyson's intensity, energy, intensity, defense, intensity, FG percentage, and intensity. I even like his technicals.
And I like John Starks. See a pattern?
Completely disagree. As the defensive anchor, he's as responsible for the recent win streak as Lin IMO. He has totally changed the defensive culture of the team.
How in the world did Tyson Chandler get dragged into this????
You can knock a lot of players on the team for their play,
but Tyson should be the last one on that list.
Teams with less talent are always going to be more physical,
get in your head & try to throw you off of your game. This
is a good learning experience for the playoffs.

Kris Humphries gets into my head and annoys the crap out of me just by looking at face.

The numbers dont lie...
Tyson is the knicks mvp. If there is any knock on him it is the lack of any outside game. If Noah can do it he can/should to.
Other than that - I love the hell out of this guy!
Smfh. Without Tyson last night we lose by 40.

Right so, according to a lot of fans the problem is:
Amar'e- broken backed with no legs or knees- the minor detail of his brother dying and him missing a week is irrelevant
Melo- can't play with Lin dispite the fact he's never even practiced with him.
Tyson- accomplishments to date are irrellevant due to his foul trouble
Number of games the whole team has played together to date: 1
Number of practices: 0
Cool

Tyson has argualy been our most important player. HOWEVER, I do agree that he needs to tone it down a little bit with the fouls and the T's. Just like Lin has to stop turning it over so much.
I don't have a problem with someone pointing this out. It's absolutely correct that when Tyson is in foul trouble we play a lot worse. He has to get it under control for the benefit of the team.
I woudn't, however, classify Tyson as "part of the problem". Our problem, as it seemingly has been for a season and a half now, is getting everyone to gel offensively.
At 15-16 this team has no MVP.
Amare is the problem. Not Tyson. When Jefferies was out there Tyson isn't in foul trouble. Having a guy that is that embarrassing on defense makes everyone look bad.
Tyson is anything but a problem. i mean the guys gets injured every game and still competes. Im not gonna bash amare because of his loss but at the same time he has to seperate that from the court. His jumper is not there and he is getting wide open looks. I know he isn't a defender but even last year he tried and was a beast even playing center. He has to get tough again. melo will be ok once he gets back into the groove
Knicks are playing 4 on 5 on the offensive end dude to Tyson Chandler.
He is part of the problem. We dont need him to be a offensive juggernaut but a hook shot or some semblance of a post game would help out alot. He wouldnt clog up the paint and his man wouldnt constantly cheat off of him.
This is why Marc Gasol is superior to Tyson. He is a well rounded center who can defend, rebound, shoot, AND post.

From page 96 of My Life by John Starks with Dan Markowitz:
The very first day of practice, Coach Riley preached defense. "Offense is going to be up and down," he said, "but defensive intensity has to stay consistently high. Defense keeps you in games." He figured we weren't an explosive offensive team -- which we weren't -- so he built the team around defense.
I have a feeling Riley would have liked having Chandler on this team.
