So many isolations for Melo that threw him off? I know he works well with Lin, but that's about it. Take Lin out and Landry plays as if he had only 1 arm.btw, Rondo had 20 assists. Which part of Rondo today that didn't blow you away?
Landry doesn't have a problem with Mike's system, and we saw how well he played when Melo was out.
I'M TELLING YOU GUYS, MELO DESTROYS MIKE'S SYSTEM.
Take Melo out and you'll have Landry dropping digits, taking names on notepads again.
Check the man's statistics during the Lin Days, before The Return.
Did you check the man's stats????

Anji, you are wasting your time. Blob's posts about Melo are all emotional and personal. They lack any unbiased logic. His mind was made up about Melo the moment we traded the beloved Gallo for him.
I know, but you can't just let people like this spout just any nonsense. You gotta check'em wit facts when they just pulling things out the back side.

Spammest one was in was melo the worst All-star in recent times. He basically posted that same post!!! SMH
I like the guy and enjoy going at it with him (sometimes
) but his hate for Melo is personal. Melo must have stole his girl!
Lin and Shumpert are the future backcourt of this team. We may as well start them now and keep them together.

Of course why hurt Fields fragile ego! Never seen so many built in excuses for a professional athlete as with Fields. Its always someone else's fault he struggles. It shouldn't matter if you play 30mins or 13mins you are suppose to make the most of your minutes regardless as a pro.
"Landry didn't have a great game yesterday, but I got complete confidence in him and a lot of times between J.R. [Smith], Landry and Shump, whoever is playing well down the stretch is going to play."
hmmm if you have so much confidence in Landry then why does Shumpert close out games! Told you guys Dantoni wouldn't bench Fields for a rookie and hurt his feelings
Is shumpert the future SG for the knicks? If so, who is the 3-point shooter in the lineup?
This topic makes no sense
Both Lin & Shumpert (backcourt of future) have WORST Shooting pct. than the slumped Landry Fields this season
for shots /per attempts taken
If Fields shot or had as much shots as Shumpert & Lin has free reign
there would be no discussion since Fields has overall game & his play recently isn't indicative of
what he's done for NYK club this season yr long.
Shumpert and Lin may have Fields beat on 3-pt pct, but its a M.D'Antoni system which preaches
winning on jumpshots as opposed to a big Rebound, big Free throws and big drives to the basket
DEFENSE stops in close games for possible Knick wins.

westbrook
sefolosha
durant
ibaka
perkins
they make it work. defend first and foremost and the offense will come so long as Melo and Amare's jumpshots start falling again.

Maybe we need to get the flux capacitor and get H2O.

Meanwhile let us waste his talents on the bench as we lose every 1st & 3rd quarter. Coming out flat against Sacramento & Cleveland and having the bench make up the deficit is one thing. Coming out flat against Miami, Chicago & Boston is a whole other story

come on now... have you seen the game log of minutes Fields and he get? When Fields sucks, he sits. Otherwise the guy who is playing well is getting minutes.
You can't yank guys in and out of lineups. That doesn't work.

But he starts, so if he sux that kill the momentum out of the gate.
He has not been yanked in and out, he has always started. Perhaps he would be better suited off the bench.
Problem is Fields always sucks especially defensively he can't keep up with virtually every starting SG in the league. Offensively I can probably count on 1 hand the number of decent games he's had playing with Melo.
Ugh I don't know I guess I will just keep pulling my hair out for the rest of the year unless Melo makes the lineup change again. You see Fields is going to have to be resigned. Do they really want to resign him with the glut of better players at SG/SF? Novak may not be better but he has a role. Shump & Jorts are rookies on the cheap you need them when you have virtually 3 max players. Are they going to waste cap space re-signing Fields? Then again they extended Toney Douglas so that he can count against the cap next year as he hands out towels

To be fair the 1st & 3rd quarter woes is not Fields alone. Amare & Melo have something to do with it too. Usually they try to get Amare going early and when he misses shots or turns the ball over it also puts them in a hole. But that 3rd quarter yesterday was on Fields like someone else said it was like he was playing for Boston! I just think the simple infusion of Shump's skill sets into the starting lineup is the glue that will bring it all together defensively and offensively. Sure the starting lineup lacks a 3pt specialist but the bench with Novak, Smith & Baron more than makes up for it. The LIN/Shump backcourt will run the opposing team off the court most nights and force fastbreaks off TO's. It would be nice to step on teams throats from the start for once!

I agree. Its not all on fields but if he won't be that involved, you are better off having the lock down defender.
And, Fields is far from a 3 point threat these days.
gunsnewing wrote:Melo is going to have to suggest to Dantoni to start Shumpert again
To Start Shumpert again is for Fantasy basketball
Iman found his niche coming off bench for offensive and defensive spark /energy
Iman is terrible open shooter consistently and he cannot start at this point yet
You want TURNOVER city with Iman, Amare and Lin ? We'd lead the league in starting 5 turnovers for minutes played every game
The last game was not on Fields at all. It was a lack of execution on the fast breaks by our guards and the stupid turnovers in the lane or drops by a hurt Chandler. I just watched the game and they missed at least 10 easy points. A few on Lin, a few on Baron, one or two in Shumpm abd another couple on Chandler. Also right now none of the 2s have a their shot going. JR is struggling with his shooting just like the others.
That said I still would start Shump because he is better defender aaginst 2s and 1s. I said it before but they are putting Fields in a bad situation because he has to take on elite 2s and 1s because of Lin's inability.

Exactly! Why do you see this and Dantoni getting paid $5mil a year doesn't?
