This was just a poorly played game and really this team still looks like they have no chemistry yet. The starting lineup is still struggling and of course it doesn't help if Melo is gonna shoot 2-12. From what I can see Lin has pulled back and is trying to develop some chemistry with STAT and Melo. It hasn't worked yet and so this team is struggling in the 1st and 3r qtrs. It's the same scenario every game now.

amare actually played real well. i agree with you about lin i would like him to attack more because i dont know if melo just has no interest in this offense even though it will help him
yellowboy90 @ 3/6/2012 11:10 PM
Another game another opposing pg showing out. This is getting out of hand. I can accept bad offensive nights but TOs and bad defense is just not acceptable to me. Kidd has a season high in scoring while Roddy goes off too. Oh well lets over look this. Melo sucked tonight and has continued to miss layups and put backs. His jumper is nowhere to be seen since the injuries early in the year and that does not look promising. The real sad thing is that everyone besides Novak is awful shooting the ball right now.

Look, Melo had a Sh*t game. But, its tough to get into a rhythm in this equal opportunity offense. no way should Fields and Bill Walker ad guys like that have the same amount of shots as Melo and Stat. Feed the hot hand. When Stat was hot early, he should have touched it everytime. But thats not how we play.

You do realize that they do have times when they go with the hot hand. It's more complicated than that. You don't want to force it to guys if teams overplay what you initially want to run. Don't try and pretend that you have better understanding of the game than D'Antoni who has consistently had some of the best offenses in the league. This is on the players.

Of course, the positive ones will fing positives and expect a win next game. Right now this team isn't playing winning basketball. Linsanity died when Melo and State came back. MDA hasn't been able to make this team work now that its healthy. The records during Linsanity and after the return are telling.

18-20

Yes, the Knicks are as bad as their record.

ya i miss that team we had last month

No, you miss the teams we played and the extensive home games. That JJ, Walker, Lin team was not winning in Boston or Dallas.

Thats is just silly talk - and childish.

Lin can't do squat because every team is adjusting and trapping him. MDA has to adjust and he is not really adjusting to this overplaying.

Also, what the heck is with the knicks picks? Nobody even touches their pick target. Its always a fake and a roll. What about a real freakin pick and maybe a slide for a jumper? Something a bit different than the same crap every time.

Scouting and adjustments by other teams are hard to adjust to if your approach is to have other teams adjust to you.

Don't be an idiot. This is why we have STAT and Melo and JR. These guys have to step up and make plays. Teams are going to take away what you want to do and that's where your best players ahve to step up. Today STAT did his part, but Melo and JR didn't do squat. Also Lin has to get back to being aggressive and not worrying about trying to get Melo going. JUST PLAY!!!

I kind of agree with this. They didn't post him up enough. couple of times they did he got a foul and a layup. Once they went up one point they should have posted him up instead of chucking jumpers.

If you realize when Dallas went down 1...they called a timeout..after that they posted Dirk every time down the floor. Gotta be smart with your personnel. That's what you have Melo for..to close the game. could you imagine Miami not going to Lebron or Wade in the closing minutes or Lakers with Kobe the way Melo was just used. It's insulting. This is Melo's and Amare's Team and it's Lins job and end of the game to make sure both guys take the bulk of shots at the end when it's time to close. You're just letting the other team off the hook if you have your secondary players taking those shots cause they won't get foul shots.

I think Lin is aggressive. Teams are playing him differently now and the shots and penetration he was getting before are no longer there. Other teams have adjusted to him. I don't think its wrong to look for the Knicks coaches to make some adjustments to help free Lin up.

amare is not much of a post up player he was doing a good job exploding to the rim and lin found him. Melo missed so many easy baskets that a 4 year old girl could drain lol

We went to melo enough this season in ISO's. He is not the same player he used to be. Last year you tell me melo is going to ISO I have no problem with it. This season you know he is going to miss a layup or 3 or get blocked.

Look at all the Dirk ISO's. They work. And they would work with Melo as well and get him into the game.

Oh, I forgot. It does not fit into this "Free Flowing" offense.

But let's not get it twisted: it's either Melo or MDA; this can't work the way it is.

This is so true. Posting Melo was definatly a plus earlier in the game. But it was the 3 ball that brought us back together with Shump's D.

I'm talking of the period from when we were up 1 to being down 13. Our stars didn't get enough touches to close game. In that same period I don't remember another Maverick shooting it besides Dirk. Which either led to shots or free throws. Melo in that time period could have at least gotten to line if posted up.

Reason ISOs are used at end of games most of the time it's cause it's safe. All that picking and cutting at end of game is dangerous cause it leads to turnovers especially with refs calling less fouls. End of game should be Melo Iso time. It almost worked in Boston. If he gets doubled he can pass out and then can lead to ball movement for a open shot.

nixluva @ 3/6/2012 11:21 PM
Knicks are going to struggle at times trying to mesh 11 guys in a rotation. Right now the biggest issue is the starting lineup hasn't clicked at all. When we had the scrubs playing it clicked but with STAT and Melo so far it's one guy playing well and the other sucking and we just aren't playing with enough pace or energy. This is gonna take more time and really it could just be that Melo is slumping cuz he hasn't been that good this year at all.

If Melo is gonna have a down season he couldn't have picked a worse time. People were worried about STAT, but he's playing well actually. Melo and JR have been pretty bad.
