Knicks · Carmelo Anthony: Not even one of the 10 best players in the League (page 1)

BigSm00th @ 3/6/2012 11:13 PM
In no particular order:

Kobe, Dwight, Durant, Rose, Westbrook, K-Love, LeBron, Wade, CP3, Dirk. thats 10 guys. blake griffin, pau gasol, lamarcus aldridge, zach randolph, etc. all of those guys can be argued with melo as next level, but i think you add in the other circumstantial evidence and it paints a clearer picture.

what does it say that the team goes on an 8 game winning streak without him? what does it say that the team constantly goes on runs with the 2nd unit? why do the nuggets have a remarkably better record since trading melo?

melo displays no leadership. he looked grumpy when he came off the bench after 2nd team went on a 15-0 run to get us the lead, which we promptly lost as soon as he came back in the game.

can we all accept the fact that this guy is UNDOUBTEDLY not a top 5 player. he isn't even a top 10 player. he is selfish, he doesn't make the team better, and we play better without him.

people who disagree are denying the obvious and the truth. these are facts.

i've never considered him a top 10 player because all those guys you mentioned. It looks like Melo has become Marbury 2.0 for us lol

Hard to argue with any of that tonight. Melo was a sorry spectacle. In fact, I like everyone on the Knicks roster except our two max contract guys.

melo is a better version of al harrington. he isn't a franchise player.

when he was making that out of bounds pass without looking to where he was passing while jawing with Marion, that showed me what kind of player Melo is.

Not focused. Winning isnt utmost in importance.

exactly. he's so ME first its embarassing. you can't spell MELO without "ME". its all about him. it has been since we traded 5 guys for him and he didn't get it then, he doesn't get it now.

I've always supported Melo. But this is so true. That was disgusting.

He was crap tonight, but I wouldn't get too down on him about that. I think it was supposed to be a no-look pass, to try to gain an advantage over a distracted Marion. If so, it backfired, but not a terrible idea.

uh, no, it was not a no-look pass. It was a god awful, lazy pass.

starmelo shamthony
crzymdups @ 3/6/2012 11:37 PM
seriously, it seems like he's pouting out there.
JCrusher @ 3/6/2012 11:38 PM
marbury all over again
crzymdups @ 3/6/2012 11:40 PM
i made a thread that the biggest issue with this team was melo and MDA not being on the same page and people ripped into me for being a hater.

it very much seems like melo and MDA are not on the same page, still. melo seems to resent when the team plays well and isn't featuring him. and he seems to then go out and pout on the floor.

i'd seriously be open to trading him.

newyorknewyork @ 3/6/2012 11:42 PM
I didn't get to see the game yet. But on the bright side Melo is very appealing to a team like Orlando for Howard.

ya according to those people we need melo to win yet when melo was out we were beating the lakers and the mavs and even the bad teams which we didnt earlier in the season. melo has no interets in this system even though it would benefit him if he would move his fatass around

it'd mean letting tyson go, which i would HATE to do. i would absolutely hate that. i love what tyson has brought to this team.

edit: and i think dwight is even more of a prima donna than melo. tyson is a basketball player. give me tyson.

it'd be nice if we could trade melo for gallo and wilson.

and melo is dolan's biggest achievement in his life so far. he's never trading melo. he'll fire MDA instead. mark my words.

Word.

I would take maybe some sneakers and a set of practice balls for him right now. Addition by subtraction.

The sting is in the 25 players we gave away to get him.

"i want to be in the game when we go on a 15-0 run! now i'm grumpy." - carmelo

screw dwight. he's the same sort of me-first loser this team doesn't need. last time i checked, tyson won a ring last year. no need to trade him for dwight.

trade melo somewhere else, upgrade a few pieces, and move on. the experiment has failed. he's not a player worth building around.
