Lin, Novack, Chandler, and dare I say JJ saved our season when the stars where out, NOW those guys are after thoughts because the divas are back. I don't buy the whole, we played crappy teams, thats why we won, crap! Hell, WE were a crappy team before Linsanity! Those players showed us that this system works and the D was waaaaaay better during the streak. I hate watching this team play now, and all the players we gave away, which happen to fit this system by the way, for a player that hasn't done Jack sh!t since he got here. 2-8 since he came back! The team kinda lost it against the Hornets, then had everything together for the Dallas game
Then the lost it against the Nets, but had it back against the Hawks
Lost it against Heat, allstar break, then had it going again against the Cavs.
We play the celtics on sunday afternoon after getting three more days off and in the first half look like we are go run over them if we take care of the turnovers. Then ever since that half time we have for the most part played like the lock out just ended and everybody is feeling each other out.
What the hell is the reason that a team could fall like this in about two weeks, I'm all ears!!!!
Let's all collectively pull out the the white board like house and start throwing up symptoms and see if we can figure this out. What is IT.

It's a 2 fold issue. With STAT and Melo in that means that for 30+ mins of each game we get mediocre to bad D and congested and hesitant offense. In the last few games the offense has gotten a bit better, but the D and rebounding is still awful when we have those guys in there. Also it has taken away from an almost pure SSOL game for 48 mins. Lin was able to keep the same flow of the offense for an entire game. Now we have to change up when Melo is in there just so we can run plays that Melo is comfortable with. You don't see the free flowing offense as much. Ball movement and player movement stops cuz Melo is going ISO which is fine, but there's a better way to score and Melo could actually be part of it.
One thing that has really gone under the radar is that most of this slide Jared hasn't played and Tyson has been injured. We absolutely NEED those 2 guys to play significant minutes. I can't believe how much we miss Jared!!! All of a sudden you don't see as much drawn charges and lanes cut off since Jared has been out. Also it's cut down on Shumps minutes, cuz Shump isn't a great shooter, but when you have him in there with Lin, Jared & Tyson it makes a GREAT defensive unit that can apply pressure get TO's and score easy buckets. IMO this is the biggest issue. Even more than Melo.

it's not twilight to me. JJ2 covers the defensive mistakes of guys like Melo and Amare regularly, and he helps on D enough to make everyone on the team better. Chandler does it for the first unit.
He also hustles his balls off and that rubs off on other guys (the energy, not his balls).
With their play, Melo and Amare deflate the team. It's visible.

Well because I would like an answer of what do you buy, because it doesn't seem to be much.
I want to know what has had this team playing up and down since the Hornets game, before melo and Stat came back. And since the come back the team had played well, then stunk, played well then stunk, played great in the first half against the celtics/ lost their edge in the third and had a tough lost in ot. And pretty much have flatlined since.
What is it??? What do you buy???
Not to make us all look silly, but JJ2 was never playing this well, we would have noticed it..no one liked that guy but Thomas and MDA. obviously we were so obsessed with his horrible offense you never really focus on his super psitivives on D.

As for Jared, I have always seen his defensive contributions, but they aren't as noticeable if he's the only one doing it. During the streak minus STAT and Melo we could rely on defense and play our better defenders more.

You've got a long way to go to reach my level! PJax is one lucky and smart man. He lucked into MJ and Pippen and made the most of it, but it started with him having the best player of our generation. Then he goes to a team that has the closest thing to MJ and Shaq. If you don't think that had the MOST to do with him winning all the time then you don't know jack. PJax is a great coach, but he's not the only guy that would've won multiple titles with that kind of talent.
