I don't care either way at this point. This team needed a kick to the nuts, and they got it. The Melo/Pringles thing needed to be squashed out. I wanted to see what Pringles could've done this year, but whatever. Maybe it's for the best that Woodson show what he can do and the staff can focus on some one who can make the most of the talent instead of needing to do things a certain way. Hopefully Melo shows some friggin flex too

What did work was when we had Lin playing and the team running Team Oriented BB.

um. he did. he made melo point forward and melo sucked at it and didn't run any plays anyway.
good thing the knicks found a d-leaguer point guard from harvard who knew how to listen.
until melo came back and blew it all up.

it's like when your buddy splits from this really awesome chick. she comes out with everyone. everyone really likes her. but they weren't making each other happy. hate to see her go, but it just wasn't the right fit

He did not put the offense in Melo's hands - nobody actually believes that. And Melo is not a point forward - he is a scorer on the blocks.
Shocked and sad to see D'Antoni go ... but at least we're not reading this headline on espn.com or is this what we'll be seeing soon!?
Isola is saying more ISO's for Melo and less Lin.
OMG! WHat a freaking disaster!

Agree with MrKnickshot
actually aside from a coach fixing Melo 'ball stop' Carmelo is only Knicks valid low post scorer threat an inside shot
foul or up strong to the basket.
That is more post presence than anything you'd ever see in your life from Amare Stoudemire in the paint
You note how many times on a break PG lin looking up floor, Landry Fields, Melo and Shumpert, Tyson all go to basket directly for a
but when Amare is running court block he pulls behind the line for a jumper instead of going to basket
Amare is spared in all this mess
He is worse defender than Melo
and min. played per game a worst rebounder than Melo
imagine ? a 6 6 or 6 7' struggling Melo being able to box out and rebound BETTER the the 6 9' Amare
whom has no interest in mixing it up or boxing out or rebounding or anything which can help Knicks.
If Amare learned to post up instead of 2's or 3's jumpers MDA loves
& perhaps Melo would not have the need to post up since we got NONE post up game for easier points

mrKnickShot, you are a complete ASS!!! I've been putting up with your inane comments this year, but it's time for you to stop posting nonsense. You should be happy and graciously backing off since you have what you wanted now. Just do me a favor and ignore my posts from now on.
This coach wanted to get fire.He did not want a new contract with organization or else he would have met halfway with Melo and Amare. He could have make it work with this team. Im guessing he did not have sit down with Melo to let him(melo) know how he wanted him to play. Instead he goes to the media and praises everyone else but the 2 players that everyone knows is going to win this battle at the end. So hit the road jack.

They've enabled Melo and completely shat on the rest of the team. The rest of the team didn't want this.

MDA wasn't fired he quit. The team should be pissed at MDA for bailing.
Guys are talking about MDA "needing to do things a certain way".
Playing TEAM BASKETBALL is not a "certain way", it's THE way.
MDA was trying to coach a team, Melo just wants to be the team.
crzymdups wrote:I might be officially done after this. I don't think I can do it anymore. Fucccccccck you, Dolan.
Same here. This franchise is disgusting. This is too much...

Word. Melo is a prima donna and a LOSER. I was not enamored of MDA's soft coaching style, but he had a solid system to win with the players on the team (not incl. Melo).
I now can't stand Melo as he is Jimmy's boy toy. PHUCK them both. The Knicks are on a downward slide. Jax won't touch this team with a ten foot dildo. Same for Sloan.
It's back to the drawing board, which if it means Isaiah, I am dropping the Knicks for the Brooklyn Nets come next year, until such time as the Knicks have new ownership.
Mike Woodson is essentially Isiah. Glen Grunwald is essentially Isiah. They are two of his closest friends, college teammates, etc. Dolan is a tool.

Well said Spree!
People fail to realize that D'Antoni was never NY
What nba legend comes in here 3-4 yrs ago, tells you Chris Duhon is a starter PG over Steph Marbury
benches and embarrasses the arrogant but skilled Marbs then when his team is down to 7-8 players comes
to #3 Marbury and tells him he's going to start a game in Milwaukee (Knicks lost)
I dont even like Steph and MDA made a Jack-ass of himself
You know he's the only coach whom gets NBA players in his doghouse and MDA never ever won a DAMN thing in NBA (title)
He came to NY, we loved it I loved it from his phoenix resume
then when you losing for 2 months and 1 1/2 yrs to lousy Clippers, Bucks, Kings, Wiz, Pistons, CAVs teams in your own building
and folks boo your team and Chris Duhon you SLAM the Ny fans paying your ticket $$$ and salary at Knicks/MSG.
Good for MDA
let the door hit him squarely on his toooose!

If Melo is ever an issue (here under 12mo.) Then MDA is just as much a problem cause he got put out of Phoenix the same manner
as he left here. Too stubborn and too much lying to public about how things should run in his system.
Bye Mike!
