Knicks · Fire D'Antoni to make a trade? (page 1)

The Magic would also be interested in a Knicks package of Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler, sources say, should the Knicks make such an offer.

The Knicks have discussed the deal internally but have been given no indication that Howard would remain with the Knicks long-term if the deal takes place. That being the case, they have thus far refused the temptation to engage Orlando in trade talks.

This is PURE speculation right now. Just trying to figure out why D'Antoni would "resign" the day before the trade deadline.

Maybe someone we are interested in doesnt want to play for D'Antoni? Howard?

Maybe D'Antoni didnt agree with a trade we have in place? Amare/Melo/Chandler going bye bye?

Discuss.

Well I mentioned yesterday that there is no way DHoward wants to play in, or, fits into this system.

And he does not! So interesting idea.

Looks more like Melo is untouchable right now.

He resigned because it was obvious Melo was not going anywhere.

The whole media blitz last night and this morning was about CAA and Worldwide Wes and Leon Rose flexing their muscle.

D'Antoni said "F#CCK it, I'm out. I'm not dealing with this." And I respect that.

This is on Dolan. To a lesser extent Melo, but mainly Dolan.

This was about CAA wanting to protect their "product" their "image" their "brand" in Melo. They made a power play, Dolan allowed it, D'Antoni quit.

Same old sh!t different day.

Maybe after MDA and Melo had their little talk...Melo smiled then stabbed him in the back. You know betrayal and all that...it's a heck of a melodrama don't ya' think?

While Anubis' point is interesting, I tend to agree with you and think Melo got tossed the keys to the kingdom. Melo is Dolan's acquistion
