Knicks · Soooo... is the Melo hate silenced for a night? Or did he just do "what he's supposed to do"? (page 3)

Forget the money, if Baron Davis keeps turning it over like that we are not going anywhere.

Seriously. Anyway, it should be noted that Melo does wear a rib guard under his jersey.
How am I being called for a Ban when everyone was pretty much talking about how he was fat and overweight in the game thread. Don't talk out of both sides of your mouth.
i wasn't in the game thread, i was at the game. he's not fat. next question.
You need to learn how to read. I was talking about a discussion from the game thread. And enough with the rib-cage guard or whatever he's wearing under there. He looks out of shape tonight.
you said "don't talk out of both sides of your mouth"... i wasn't talking out of any side of my mouth in the game thread, as i wasn't in the game thread.
anyway, so i suppose you've answered my question and can't really find a fault with anything melo did on the floor.
How are you even going to start an argument over "Melo is fat". Deal with it.
maybe this would be an ideal moment to reflect and say to yourself, "gee, I just joined and people want me banned. why is that the case?"
Maybe it's because they're too sensitive to any criticism of Melo?
or perhaps that style of posting is more befitting of Real GM or some other venue of low level analysis

As far as D'Antoni ?
You think for 1 sec last nite game with 2 starters being down, a prime bench role guy (jeffries) being out
and a team who gotta play useless M.Bibby would have WON and BEAT Bucks in a much huge win woulda happened under MDA
think again ! ![]()
MDA would of had perfect setup excuse to bl_w the game vs BUCKs last nite as often as D'Antoni lost alot of big
games for NY Knicks in his era and tenure. Shifts blame to roster or "This isnt Mike's team" just the impression
D'Antoni wanna give and fool NY Fans.
Mike Woodson what? won 7 or 8 games or close, and lost 1 ?
D'antoni aint doing that unless starters are: SG Kobe
G/PG M.Jordan
PF Larry Bird
SF Dr J. or Magic Johnson
C W.Chamberlain or Bill Russell or Jabbar (pick em')

Silenced what? That's what you're supposed to do. If you act like an elite level superstar you go out and play like one.
Does anyone enjoy watching this kid? It's the talented kid at the Y/Playground that doesn't pass and loves to score. If you're happy with a .500 record I don't know what to tell you.
I don't care if we beat crap teams with Lin everyone knew what their role is and where to be on the floor. When guys miss shots because one guy holds the ball and pounds it, it's very hard to keep a rythm.
No Lin. No Amare. No Jeffries. And the Bucks haven't played like a 9th place team as of late. Didn't they have a 6 game winning streak recently?
Melo doesn't pass? He hit plenty of open shooters that bricked jumpshots. He is averaging 4 assists per game on the season so it's quite silly for you to make that argument right now. He had the all the mismatches this game. The team (besides Melo) shot 18-54 FG (33.3%) and 7-29 3P FG (24.1% FG). I don't blame Melo for forcing his way into the painting, putting the opposing team in foul trouble and getting easy points at the free throw line.
We should have blown them out first quarter. But then the second unit game in and a 10 point lead turned into a 10 point deficit.

Not really
you cant act like MELO and AMARE when playing leading up to Linsanity was doing diddly-squat
#1 and #7 was pathetic
But in all fairness to Lin he did two things:
1) Won Knicks a bunch of games putting them back on track
knicks became relevant again
2) Saved Lame MDA job which Mike dont even give any credit to PG Lin
then cause D'Antoni is a pom-pass donkey tail
Lin played well & high level; His Knicks teams and MDA also played weaker schedule and foes
but always good to beat whom in nba schedules puts in front of you: Other than LA Lakers and MAVs NY win streaks
was not again cream of crop
When The tough schedule came and Amare & Melo came back they won few but faltered.
and Melo got entire blame completely! Just as Dr D'Antoni wanted is reason he called NYK Mgt to trade Melo for MDA reason
to cop out and exit making Melo 150% bad guy. Amare got off hook and his play especially NO D' was worse than Melo.
Sure Melo gotta and needed to play better he wanted the NY pressure playing in hometown here at Garden.
But coach MDA needed to coach better too!! Mr Stubborn with his answers "We'll fix it, we gonna get it right?"
How many years has U.S.S sunken ship D'antoni come on post game interviews saying we'll fix this or fix that ? eh ![]()
what a joker MDA been in his last season.
MDA vs M.Woodson
seems like a slam dunk for woody at least competing vs weak and best NBA schedule
something the pathetic D'Antoni could not and would not do as long as his offense was fixed thus disgarded D, which Woodson
holds 12 men roster responsible for each nite.
Woodson even barks crap of disgust at Knicks when they beating teams up by 20 late in game.
Last time I seen that was from Popovich, Rivers, Phil J and now Tom Thibeodeau bulls coach
Good riddance Mike D
what took ya so long?
eh ? like they say in Canadian language

I am so sick of this "story". Look at the time the T-Wolves were above 500 and in the playoff race. Utah was right there too and now is playing great and has a far better record than the Knicks. Fact of the matter is the Knicks played 4 playoff worthy teams and beat all 4 of them. During most 7 games stretches you have your share of dogs. During this recent stretch under Woodson we have beaten teams with better records 3 times and that includes Indiana twice. Which means we have beaten dogs as well. I think Portland might have also had a better record at the time...but they were rapidly falling.

I'm sick of people failing to mention that teams hadn't scouted Lin and didn't have tape on him when he burst out onto the scene and even more tired of people failing to mention that Lin saved Pringles' job. The team looked AWFUL pre-Linsanity an dlooked awful post-Linsanity. Now the team is pretty good yet flawed, but sans the Toronto whipping, has been consistent

Ok
now you liked to say Knicks are fine to beat the world without MELO and whomever
else not liked on the Knicks roster ?
All the Knicks win whenver it comes its all cause of Jeremy Lin solely eh ? Explain what you mean
?
Melo was terrific last night, even if the FG% isn't up to where we'd like it. These are the performances we want to see from him. He still only shot 40%, but he drew fouls and kept us steady in the second half, despite cooling off from the field. I was reading a "10-10-10" rule for Melo from a Nuggets fan. Said Karl used to tell him, take 10 shots in the post, 10 foul shots, and you can take any other 10 shots you'd like. Could be something to it, especially if we're going to be without Amar'e.

Furthermore the Jazz are playing well correct
but do not act like Wolves (< .500 now) , Jazz and Pacers are what you're saying Knicks BEAT worldbeater teams are what
makes a nba season. Blazers collapse in now < .500
Only the pacers and blazers were NBA playoff teams 1 yr ago and Pace-makers got in 8 games Under .500
So these arent even some of best NBA teams around going to impact anyone in 2011/2012 NBA playoffs this season
For the simple record our Knicks 25-25
are 9 - 16 record against . >500 teams best
and 16 - 9 records against .< 500 teams this season
Record speaks as is
NY hasn't done anything yet against lead for elite teams on NBA east or NBA west

You got me...Dallas (in NY) just decided on a whim to trap Lin practically at the half court line. It had nothing to do with scouting. LOL!

Geez...I am saying that the 7-0 streak during Linsanity is too often discounted because of some bs notion that they played all easy teams. That is all. Frankly, if you actually watch the top tier teams play, you would come to the conclusion that we simply don't match up. No, Lin is not THE SOLE reason we win games, but when he plays more freely the Knicks offense opens up. That is all I am saying.

It is not discounted but it is contrasted by the loses after. Going on the road to Miami, Boston, Dallas etc. was a completely different and daunting task. The best teams that they beat were LA and Dallas who are both .400 road teams. Hardly a difficult schedule.

understood and i am one with J.Lin or linsanity whichever they give publicity to it
but I agree though Lin has still lots to learn he is a great story and our PG
he isnt a 1 hit wonder at PG
The coach got to get the Lin skills and Amare skills and star Melo skills to mesh
that is what stubborn MDA did not & could not do (left it up to stars) and exactly
opposite of what new coach Mike Woodson is doing messing the skills of stars and whole
team on both sides of court
That is why i disdain Mike Dantoni and one of few aint sorry for that man
nope! suppoerted him and his resume when he got to ny for 4 yrs and loved it
when he left though he shouldnt quit he decided against NY

Look...Lin and Melo hit key shots at the end of the Boston game. We should have won that one. If we didn't let Boston shoot a 3 pointer the game was more than likely ours. Miami...please...if we played the 10 series...we might win one. No shame in losing to Dallas and San Antonio in Texas. You gotta win your games against the scrub and mid-level teams during the regular season to position yourself for the play. Fact is that we were not even doing that before Linsanity/Woodsanity.
