Knicks · wow. SVG to media today: "I know Dwight wanted me fired." Potential Ewing coaching debut tonight? (page 4)
I feel like SVG knows he's going to be fired so he has decided to go out in a blaze by betraying the confidence of the organization. They're in a bad spot right now. Horrible press. Think about it. What good does it even do the organization itself to go public the way he did? All that will end up happening is SVG will be fired (because they can't trust that he won't go to the media and throw everyone under the bus if he gets bent out of shape) and D12 is going to either be traded or leave because now you have the boos coming in. And remember, the anger towards Howard didn't start until SVG himself went public. The fanbase was happy about him re-signing. Of course this slump hasn't helped matters. Howard hasn't handled things well at all! Now you have boos reigning down as well as bad press on the highest levels. All because of the story SVG fed the media. I go to the ESPN homepage and it says "Howard wants me fired!" What is that about? So what! SVG is not the first coach that a player wanted to see moved just like I'm sure SVG has wanted certain players moved. And they got moved! But you don't go public. It looks bad for everyone. That CAN'T sit well with management.
D12 = immature, SVG = scorned woman, front office guy who told SVG = snitch. I am a general fan.....why do I know all of this? SVG, that's why! Some things need to stay in house.
Dwight has made a circus of Orlando this year.

Right now, what is ESPN and every sports station talking about? Be specific. This entire episode is based on one thing......SVG telling the media about a closed door meeting that didn't even involve his presence. Tell me how Howard has prompted this particular thing that we are talking about? Keep in mind, we are ONLY talking about it because WE got word via SVG's inclusion of the media.

What the hell man??
Guy's getting squeezed and has no way to put the squeeze back, so this is his best choice. Made other guy look like a dufus, which we knew, but it was ridiculous with the waffles guy was eating.
One guy comes in everyday and works, the other guy is throwing fits and not focused. Give me a break.
You spit on Basketball when you try to throw dirty water on SVG.
Get the heck out of townnnnn.
and the best part is that he ruined Dwight's image and Dwight's trust in management. he basically said: you wanna fuck me for this guy? fine, then fuck you. and fuck him.
no doubt SVG will be able to get an analyst job and live comfortably without having to deal with divas.

But I'm sure management does and so will future players who would play under him (if he ever gets another job that is).
Shaq on SVG: "And one thing I really despise is a front-runner, so I know for a fact that he's a master of panic, and when it gets time for his team to go in the postseason and do certain things, he will let them down because of his panic. I've been there before, I've played for him."

Saying "**** u Dwight! **** u management!" in public is handling it like a man? Smh.
The thing about some people (I've noticed) is that some of you think that there is always one person who is 100% in the right and the other person is 100% in the wrong in every case. Life isn't that simple. I actually said there is enough blame to go around. In this case, throwing a tantrum is not good. That's what a scorned woman would do. Or a child. No different from D12's behavior. Shaq called SVG a master of panic. And Shaq has played for some of the best to ever coach the game. I agree.

i'm not saying anything about who's right and who's wrong (in the grand scheme of things, that is. i obviously prefer the way SVG handled this situation specifically). i don't follow Orlando enough to have an opinion on it.
fact of the matter is, SVG and Dwight don't get along. SVG is man enough to confront it and Dwight is the one being a passive agressive girl.
i don't think SVG threw a tantrum. i think he answered a direct question honestly. could he have danced around it? yeah. but if i'm him, and my front office and my superstar are hanging me out to dry, i'm not doing anyone any favors by being politically correct.
i think his honestly is refreshing in a world where cliches rule the day.

You keep using terms like "confront it" and "direct question" as it pertains to SVG but you are failing to mention that this was all TO THE MEDIA. Not to Dwight Howard. We have no idea what Dwight and SVG have talked about in private. But when you say SVG confronted it, all you are saying is that he decided to talk to the media instead of the guy right in the same room with him.....Howard! The organization. There is such thing as in-house. Being a tattle tale while the person isn't around isn't confronting things nor being a man about it. Did you notice how quick he got out of there when Howard walked up to him? I don't think Howard avoiding talking to THE MEDIA is passive or that of a girl. It's the media! They not part of the equation.
Being politically correct would be doing YOURSELF a favor. Not Howard nor the organization. Players know (as well as other coaches) you keep a certain level of dignity in keeping confidence with the people you work with whether you agree or disagree. The one thing Howard didn't do, nor the organization is break that code. SVG did. Not to mention, Dwight has denied even saying that. It's not like SVG heard it from the source. He went to the media with what he heard Dwight said. No one from the organization has said that this was said either. The only person saying it is SVG. Does Howard want him gone? Probably! but it was irresponsible for him to go to media with that. When he was asked "Who told you?" he said "I work here". True, but that wasn't the question. He said "From the top". It will be interesting to see what the people from "the top" have to say about this. So save the whole "truth" thing. We don't know yet. After all, SVG is an emotional woman about things.
Let's say you worked at a job knowing that there is a guy you now work with that was fired from a previous job. But before he got fired from that previous job, he decided to go on Facebook, Youtube and all social media in order to air people's dirty laundry. Would you "trust" that guy with any personal information now that YOU work with him?
It's not a matter of who was right or wrong in the situation, it's how it is handled. And like I said, there is enough blame to go around. SVG did himself no favors by going to the media and tattling smh. He's emotional.
Spot on analysis. SVG is putting Orlando management in a bad place and they are going to have no choice but to fire him. The bottom line, he didn't get the job done.
TheloniusMonk wrote:Regardless of how D12 is acting, it serves no good purpose to tell the media basically "Howard had a meeting in confidence with management. in your scenario you say "be a man and come talk to me," but then why are you "talking behind closed doors"? why are you gossiping behind someone's back if you think it's more manly to confront someone face to face? am i understanding this wrong?
