I agree. That first win was huge. The Bulls are a tough team especially at home. The Knicks missed Lin a lot tonight.

We will continue to miss him if we can't get any kind of floor leadership from Baron, TD or Shump. Also Woody had no answers out there. The offense has been devolving and grinding down into sludge slowly over time. This is not a playoff level offense right now and it's more than a lack of PG play.

If you are referencing the 18-24 offense that looked good for 7 games then I disagree. The Knicks d will keep them in games against any team if they continue to play the way they have the last 15 games. I do think it is concerning that Douglas regressed so much tonight. He didn't make it back into the game until it was over. From what I have seen of Woodson, he is pretty commited to a subsitution pattern and Toney not getting back in could be a bad sign for Toney. Also, Jeffries hasn't blown as many shots as did tonight in a long time.

It's silly to bring up the 18-24 record as if the problem was that the offense wasn't good enough to win. You can play good D, but you also have to play SMART BB. that's really all the Bulls did. They set picks and forced switches and moved the ball and had player movement leading to open shots and that's all i'm talking about. We didn't do enough of that. We didn't put enough pressure on their defense to create good looks. Yes we missed some open shots, but we also had long stretches of BAD BB. This has been coming for a while. They must fix these problems.

In case you guys haven't noticed this team is still fighting for the 8th seed. Hopefully they get their heads straight for tomorrow night. The Bucks don't defend like the Bulls but they can score. Gotta get that win.

Nixlula, how efficient was the knicks offense prior to Lin?

Prior to Lin we still had the bad Melo who couldn't shoot straight and was getting his shot blocked.

And bad Stat and bad knicks and bad coach and bad defense and bad rebounding and bad OFFENSE and many many many bad shots and ... many bad losses

Why are you ignoring the fact that the team was in a better place when Melo had come back and his poor play and poor attitude negatively effected the entire team? If he came back with the same energy and dedication that he's been playing with since MDA resigned perhaps this team wouldn't be in the mess they're in. It's still in the Knicks hands to beat the Bucks and Wiz and solidify their spot in the playoffs, but let's not pretend that this team wasn't negatively impacted by Melo's bad play and bad attitude for most of the year. Yes there were other factors, but Melo was the major factor as the central figure of this team.

Wrong!! The major factor was the coach who had no phuckin clue how to use his superstar correctly or get Stat to play defense. Its so DOPE that these are no longer affecting this beautiful team.

And it didn't help that the coach did a horrendous job either...Nix, U used to like saying the Knicks proved they could win without Melo...I think the Knicks are proving they are better off without MDA, don't u??

haha - talk about a rhetorical question!

Everyone wants the Knicks to win on their own terms with their favorite players and favorite coaches...U guys are asking for the impossible...Very few win it all...Mostly only the best...Your team is better now than in previous years..Enjoy the ride, it's guaranteed not to last...

Agree, at this point it was probably time to part ways, however, no coach in the NBA will ever accomplish anything major without having his best player support to the system and to the team. It was clearly that no matter what MDA did or did not, he wasn’t going to succeed with a grumpy Melo on the team.

I guess you are a NEW KNICK FAN because otherwise you would realize that last year in 27 games with the Knicks, Melo dropped 26 PPG with 6 RPG and 3.6 APG on 46% shooting with the same CLUELESS COACH. May be MDA had a little clue after all.

MDA trid hard to make Melo into a scrub.

Really? Do you think is the best interest of a coach to do that to his best player? What purpose did it serve to the team?

Not sure, why don't you ask D'Antoni why he didn't bend his system to fit both Lin/SSOL with Melo/ISO/Post-ups?

And what exactly the system has to do with effort? In various games I have watched, Mike Breen, Walt Frazier and Jeff Van Gundy have clearly stated that Melo didn’t play hard for MDA.
Honestly do you watch NBA games? Or just Melo’s poster hanging in you wall.

Actually John Starks "The Dunk" poster hung on my childhood bedroom for awhile. MDA didn't really blow a fire in Stoudemire ass either, he only recently starting Dee-ing up under Woodson.

Have to have a mind in order to lose it.

We not going to beat the elite every nite.

Tonite we got business to tend to.

Stat pulls a "Willis" out of the tunnel during a time out and goes right in at 6 minute in the first period.

True, I was very surprise that STAT didn’t play better this year, considering that he had a MVP season for us last year (under MDA), I can only assume that it was true when he said that he didn’t grab a basketball for more than six months due to his bad back recovery, and it was going to take some time to get into the actual flow of the game.
