Knicks · If this is who Melo really is, He is top 10 no doubt!!! (page 3)

That is exactly correct.

Other starters were 8-23. Not gonna cut it.

Totally agree, look how bad our record is since Lin and Amare went down.

Yeah we really suck! I love Lin fans.

Dude, Lin gets others involved so teams can't focus on one player scoring all the points. Melo got 40 + today and we still lost! The only other player that got double digits was JR. Good teams will shut that down quick. Knicks gotta get others involved early or we going home early in the playoffs....and yes I am a lin fan, and not ashamed to admit it!

Good teams are not shutting down Melo - c'mon who is shutting him down?

And Melo makes Melo better? What the heck does that mean? Does he not need Lin?

We all miss Lin but we can also appreciate how well the knicks are doing. Even without LIN.

How did Lin do in Miami??????

So you saying Melo can win a 7 game series against chicago or miami all by himself??? You don't think those teams will find a way to shut that down especially if no one else is involved, and we're relying heavy on Melo??? Your crazy! And honestly, it doesn't matter how many points Melo scores, if no one else is involved we're done. (see todays game) With out Lin, this team is very predictable.

You obviously have not read any of my posts and even in this one I in no way state the knicks can win with Melo alone. And that's what he is - ALONE. Can Melo be stopped? No! But he can't score a hundred points.

What does Melo makes Melo better mean? Does Lin coming back help him?

And again I ask being that you think that having Lin definitely means a win - How did Melo do against Miami?

Don't matter WE STILL LOST!!!!!! Thats been Melo's MO his entire career!!! If we don't have a facilitator that can get others involved with high percentage shots, we're done come payoff time, trust me!

1-11 FG, 8 pts, 6 rebs, 3 assist, EIGHT TURNOVERS!!

Now, of course we need Lin but educate yourself a bit before throwing around baseless absolutes.

Good for the team for doing well the last 11 games and getting in the playoffs.

We know Melo can carry a team in stretches with great point totals, smiles and some heroics. He did this in Denver.

Im pissed we lost yesterday. Miami was prime to be taken. We tied it and were at home. They were ready to be beaten and Knicks did not rise up.

Threads like this seem insecure that they have to keep selling Melo after he has a big point game.

We all saw the game.

Team is still deep in the roster and we have the likely defensive player of the year.

Im pissed we lost. Good teams beat better teams at home. Even Miami.

Miami does not have its swagger of late. Forget who is a "Star" or "Superstar" crap.

This was a statement game. We made our statement and its on the huge Billboard: "come see Melo do wonderful things on Broadway"!

Seems the script sometimes if for melo to have a great game and winning secondary. Glad many are happy with that and wear your no. 7 headbands to work.

Me, I want to win.

Team is in progress and this is not hate, its a statement of what I think MSG is selling. Im NOT pissed at Melo, Im pissed we lost. Im not buying Melo headbands today. IM not buying anyones head band today.

Stop hating on melo and/or downplaying his contributions tothe Knicks good fortune.

It's getting rough reading a long time poster temper his enthusiasm on purpose after years of extolling virtues of crappy Knicks.

Time to rise up and support. Win or lose this team is the best knic team and collection of talent in a long time.

Also, shelltops steadfast refusal to aknowledge lins crappy play against e heat and at the same time blame melo for yesterday's loss speaks volume.

Nobody is selling Melo to cover any of the teams weaknesses. Melo's numbers speak for themselves, most importantly 13-5, 7-4 since Lin and Amare went down, in the Woodson era. The reason for yesterday's loss is the lack of 2nd scorer, and the incompetence at point guard. You make it seem like Melo is the sole reason the Knicks are only 2 games above .500, not because of him. We're lacking major firepower in the lineup, and he's doing everything in his power, unfortunately the rest of the squad let down.

and we didnt win the game. So whats your point? Maybe we should just go back and discuss Melo's great game we lost against the Celtics in the playoffs last year? Man that was exciting! Great games in losing efforts do NOTHING to excite me. Did people get excited about Ewing's stats when MJ was beating him time and time again.

Its about wins. Thats the only stat that counts people. Unless your really into fantasy. I guess Im more a reality kind of guy.

Melo had a great game. I watched. Maybe we can win a playoff game or god forbid a playoff series before we start sucking each other's dicks over his great stats?

sure you can ask more. You can ask him to play like that from the start. These top seeded teams with great record have great records because the effort to win is there everynight. Not just when the playoffs are slipping away, or a coach just got canned, or another player is out.

Imagine if the team tried to win every game, except just the ones they had to have to be just beyond mediocre

Funny how MDA got a pass here from some for his horrible record based on circumstance/excuse after excuse but will now say things like "we are not beating the best teams consistently" and "Melo is 2 games over .500 for us" "wins are what counts" ... ... ...

Just sayin ... a bit disingenuous being that their sole argument was always circumstance. And, the fact that every article and every sports show/sports cast says that Melo can't do it alone ... eh whatever. Thus is the political spectrum.

First, I was not responding to you, I was responding to ChuckB. Second, I did not create this thread. Third, how posters excused MDA and showing the double standard and partisanship is completely relevant and a basis in any post that a poster calls for accountability or requires that WINNING be a prerequisite for judgement.

I respect your opinion. However, I believe that it is disingenuous and I am stating why.
