This is obviuosly the best game these 2 have had..They play better with Tyson off the floor for obvious reason..melo sure did miss Amare on multiple occasions, but I think it could work with the right lineup rotations..
Amare redeem himself a bit, he played hard, and had he got a few more touches he would have easily scored 30 and had miami in foul trouble early.
Great game for melo, but he needs to defer to amare a bit more to keep the defense honest..
I remember the first time spree/allan combine for 62 points..It killed all the noise about them not being able to play together, and i believe it was in the playoffs against the heat..IRONCALLY..
yeah we went on to win that series, the famous allan hoston shot
I too saw a TON of missed opportunities for STAT. The Knicks have been kind of doing that all year with STAT. They MUST rely on Melo and STAT more often. We know the Knicks can defend and if they bring the same or better effort into game 5 and do a better job offensively they can win. STAT and Melo can work if they make use of them in PnR more often, which is something we've been screaming for them to do all year!!!

We need a durable PG if not two PGs, who can run the PnR with Amare and Chandler...Mix up the options Melo/STAT/Chandler.I like the three picks where Amare rolled to the basket..Why doesnt anyone cut to the basket when Melo gets the ball on the wing..This offense can improve with practice time and a PG who can run the offense..Nix u have to give Woodson some credit for adding a few different wrinkles in the PnR to get Amare the ball..
Amare definitely exceeded my expectations today. I think he understood that he had let the team down in the last game. That means a lot to me to see him come out and play like a Stud. As bad as his defense is I have to give him props for being a man and showing up to play for pride alone. Much obliged.
Did Melo miss Amare or did he just want the shots for himself instead?

He did miss Amare and missed Chandler under the basket many times last game...We need consistent PG play to to get everyone involved..I think all this takes in game recognition and understanding that can only come with playing time together..

After a pass I like how JVG said today that very few players can make that pass.
He is an excellent passer - I think it comes down to both chemistry and trust. Hard to do that with JR Smith and Landry Fields though.

It works both ways..If people were cutting when Melo gets the ball on the wing he will apt to recognize those situations..He has to look for that too...But lack of good PG play is holding us back..
Great game. Gritty performance for both, and it stood up at the end. Very happy. Phuck Miami... I hope we win game 5. Bibby scores 30 and gets 12dimes :)
Lol at saying he missed a pass when we are watching the game from 50 ft away.
Probably didnt see him. It happens.
Our backcourt is now missing Two starters and the first back up option at PG. That leaves Landry who is a SF, JR who is shooting under 10% and Bibby who is 50 years old. And after that we have hewhomustnotbenamed. If we win Game 5 the Heatles should commit hari-kiri on the court.

Agree. He isn't Lebron. With that said, he still has pretty good court vision.

He just wanted the shots for himself. He is trying to engineer injuries for all his teammates so that he can go 1-on-5 against Miami.

yeah but if he would display it more, we would be a much better team

That's what I thought.
Seriously, though, Melo had a huge game and deserves a ton of credit for today's performance. I asked my question though because it seemed like a few times Amare, Tyson, or Landry had great position and it was right in front of Melo - I don't see how he could have missed it.

Maybe he does not trust the vaseline on their hands.
If the Knicks are stuck with Amare they should at least let him do what he does best. Amare is a scorer and should be featured more. I dont think they get him the Ball enough on offense.A viable PG probably would

I dunno. I guess we might learn something by studying the film. Maybe he doesn't fully trust them. Maybe when he passed to them earlier theye often missed. Myabe he doesn't have the vision of a good point guard.
He does seem to need to get a number of touches to get going. That said, it seems like Amare did a good job of involving himself in the offense and I thought this was an example of the two of them co-existing without the universe exploding.
melo has to keep his head up more and transform his game into playmaker more than scorer.. we all know he can score, but we need him to make plays for others.. tht is where he can help the knicks most consistently..
IsoMelo is not fun to watch over and over.
Same for IsoLebron, IsoKobe, etc etc.......
We are so hurting for firepower its a necessary evil.
Good game for both our big guns and was happy to see Amare doing his thing.
Melo got tired at the line when we were gifted those three FT's!
Refs called the game tight at least on both sides.
We got a gift. Good win! We were due!
