Kidd as backup and a young pg as insurance im down with. Maybe even draft one. Although at pick 40 something you take best available player

How the heck are we getting Kidd?
gunsnewing@ 5/10/2012 4:03 PM
Kidd already said he is ready to move to the bench. Not sure if he meant for DWill only

he is way past his prime. He is a free agent. He said he would play for the knicks. He might take the $1.3mil vet min

The stones on this kid to go from scrub to Linsanity is amazing.
He preformed under pressure and that says alot about him!
Kidd can come as a back up.
I love Nash, but can we stop bringing in players past prime?
MDA made Linsanity. Don't ever forget!
I know its not exactly the same but Fields was a up and comer too in the 1st half of his rookie year. Small Sample size. Who said that? lol.

Remember Lin went through a rigorous workout to get stronger and finish drives in the offseason that helped him have success of Linsanity proportions. I agree you do need to bring in a solid backup. Bibby is ok as third string but cant be relied on for 82 games
Why was he buried on the bench?
Come on man. He was going up against Curry and Ellis in practice. Obviously he wasn't showing anything spectacular.
I personally believe Lin was playing balls too the wall to stay in the NBA and that is why he broke down and hurt his knee.
gunsnewing@ 5/10/2012 4:23 PM
Fields was never an up and comer. He just happen to play well in transition with felton, amare & gallo. A team lacking a real #2 go to guy and played NO defense. He disappeared the minute we got that other go to guy. Hence why he was a late 2nd rd pick and 3rd string backup SF at best. Or nice "locker room" guy

Funny, MDA can take players like Novak, Fields and lin and make them better, but melo he made worse?
We need "woodson" players here who will thrive in his system.
What ever that system is.
I like fields and his game is very good except his outside shot needs to come back.
Is it easier to fix it or replace him with some fictitional player?

You are right. GS gave up on him for a reason. If you look at the scouting reports he had a tough time taking nba hits and finishing drives. He worked out mma, bruce lee, dojo style to be to get stronger. His trainer would wack him with a 2x4 as he drove the lane.

I think you make fair points but at the same time from past posts you dont like lin which is fine since you have every right to your opinion. I feel lin was overlooked clearly but I'm not saying he is the best pg in the league or anything. I think his upside could be very high. let him go through a good camp with melo and amre under woodson and i am confident this team will be real good.
SupremeCommander@ 5/10/2012 8:57 PM
great thread. how fun was that ride? anyone know when was the last time the Knicks made a SI cover pre-Lin?
Nalod@ 5/10/2012 8:59 PM
Watch for Brook-LIN!
I wonder if they would make a run at him?
gunsnewing@ 5/10/2012 9:02 PM
Well since the knicks according to fans and media are going after andre miller, kidd and 40yr old Nash Nets might just get him for the MLE
biglove44@ 5/10/2012 9:09 PM
people are dumb. Dragic is not coming here for MLE. Dude is looking for his payday. His camp has already made that clear.
dragic is not that different from Lin. Yes, he's older so he's a little better but not that much better. You're comparing apples to apples. Now if you want to compare Lin to Nash, then that makes sense. Nash is much better than Lin. BUT we have to live in reality, Nash is NOT coming here for MLE. We are not one itty bitty piece away from becoming a championship team.
Linsanity was fun. I'm looking forward to this kid proving all you naysayers wrong. Don't ever underestimate an asian, especially when he knows he's the only one with this kind of opportunity in the NBA. He knows he needs to be near perfect for you people to stop doubting him. He's mentioned it in interviews; he gets it.

But from a pure basketball standpoint, Goran Dragic, is every bit as much or greater than Lin. He's been in the league for longer, learned from the best (Steve Nash), played well in the playoffs for Phoenix, and commits way less turnovers. And he's only 25. He's probably priced out of the Knicks range anyways, so probably a pipe dream...
Good find. Goran has put up some flashy numbers like Lin, but he has a much better jumper and more of a PG feel than Lin (at least of now).
Goran is a more proven player than Lin, and will definitely command a much higher salary package. In terms of athleticism, Goran is definitely more athletic than Lin. In terms of intangibles, IQ, and work ethics, I have to the give the slight edge to Lin. The man came in the league with an ugly jump shot, and changed his game to be a PG, and has found success in a much shorter time than Goran.
If somehow, we can get Lin to commit to a 5 year deal, paying him less than the MLE. That would be a bargain deal for the Knicks.
loweyecue@ 5/12/2012 10:06 AM
Knick fans are in no danger of forgetting Linsanity.
Melo fans, Gilbert Arenas fans and trolls are whole different subject. Dolan probably fits the first and third categories.
Silverfuel@ 5/13/2012 10:58 AM
Linsanity highlights are awesome! We need a couple of real PGs in NY.

I say Brooklyn is his path w/ DW going to Dallas.

If you are Phx why not bring back Dragic to replace Nash?
