Yeah but they're not dumb enough to go into the season planning for Toney Douglas to be the full time PG with Baron Davis and Mike Bibby as the backups.

you can blame the GREAT Donnie Walsh for that one

I thought Donnie was gone last summer?

Wasnt it Walsh who never addressed the PG issue knowing that MDA (the Coach he hired) needed a capable PG to run his offense?

He had felton. That was working.

Working towards what being the worst defensive team in nba history and perennial 1st round exit team? Dantoni & amare couldnt win with Nash, joe johnson & marion

The question was about a pt guard. I answered it. The year before we had Duhan and Nate.

Before we had Marbury.

What does PHX have to do with it? We defelect the answers back to another team?

Was a team that averaged like 57 wins for 4 years really that bad?

I think last nite we deducted down to the Ray Allen trade for Payton and Karl's feuds.

MDA is gone. Just get the facts as they were. The assumption is now that MDA is gone and if sooner everything would have been great. BUt really, Linanity was about also about Novak.

There was no linsanity without MDA. Can't happen. Thus, we don't really have a PG for woodson.

Isn’t that what the Knicks currently are, a perennial 1st round exit team?

As far as the old Phoenix team, true, they couldn’t win the championship with the players they had, but they definitely past the first round way many more times than Melo’s Nuggets.

Who was Melo's 2nd star in Denver? Nene, Camby, JR, Billups? PHX had Amare, Nash, Joe Johnson & Marion

SMH

The Knicks organization earned this criticism. No way we traded for Melo and signed Amare with the goal of going 1-8 in the playoffs.

1-8 due to the team being decimated by injuries in the playoffs 2 years in a row. Look at the heat, 1 game without Bosh and they get blown out. Brighter days are ahead buddy.

The injuries a symptom of the problem rather than being unrelated to it. We gave up our depth in the Melo trade and replaced that depth mostly with older, more injury prone, inferior players. Going into the season, our plan was to use Baron, Landry, Melo, Amare, Chandler as the starting 5. That 5 has had 45 seasons of wear and tear. You should expect many injuries.

How do u know that was the plan? Why did they add Lin, shump, novak & JR then if that was the definitive plan?

If you want to replace Fields with Shumpert, fine. Then it's 44 seasons rather than 45. That's pretty close to a distinction without a difference. At the start of the season, none of those other players above were expected to be our starters. You can't seriously be claiming otherwise.

I heard that as well...In my opinion, Melo is better right now...Better scorer, more consistent, better rebounder, better passer, Wade is a better defender...When u look at what Melo brings on a nightly basis, it hard to argue...I'll take Melo, thanks!!!!

Iverson was 31 years old averaging 25 PPG with 7 APG while shooting over 45 FG%.

Andre Miller, was 30 years old averaging 13 PPG with 9 APG while shooting 47 PG%

And isn't the prime of most NBA player from 27 to 32 years old by the way?

Iverson played without regard to the pounding his body took on the court. He was undersized and fearless. He also had bad habits off the court and had a lot of knucklehead in him. He was over the hill at that point in his career. You can look back at his numbers and games played and there is an obvious decline. In regards to Drew Miller I liked him but never saw him as a star. Also, I have never heard a player criticized because he and Drew couldn't put it together and go far in the playoffs.

Not undersized 2-guards who take a pounding. No player has ever taken the pounding that AI took. It was inevitable that his career would be cut short in his early 30s. Gotta commend him for lasting as long. Derrick Rose doesn't drive nearly as much and is already broken down

WRONG, Iverson's career was cut short due to his poor behavior in and out of the court, in his last season in the NBA, he was still very productive player and could have been a good 6 man on a very good team. Why don't you check his stat? And what does a 2010 Iverson has anything to do with a 2006/2007 Iverson in Dever?

Throughout his 13-year career, Iverson has played with blatant disregard for his opponents' size and his own physical well-being. It is a minor medical miracle that he has been so durable for so long, having crafted his reputation by challenging bigger men, throwing his boyish, 165-pound frame into bodies that are as thick as vending machines — and somehow escaping with all of his appendages intact.
