Hey let our big three restructure that money so we can bring in a nice piece or 2 and let Dolan buy 2 late 1st rounders. We need another star who can creat his own shots and have a brain. Maybe Michael Redd??.

Well then they need to break up the LeBron, Wade, and Bosh team because it gives an unfair advantage to other teams. All of the owners should unite together on this. They have 2 of the top 5 players in the league and 3 of the top 10. That is unfair!! Sterns should break up the team point blank!!.

i think the sooner tha heat win the sooner they will break up. I mean the good thing is that the lebron/jordan comparisons can stop since he couldnt win a title on his own. hell he still hasn't won a title with two other superstars

As a fan, I just sit back, watch and enjoy. After all, that's what games are for. I do not and will not pull my hair out trying to control something I can't control.
youngandalmostfamous @ 5/12/2012 12:35 PM
As a fan let the front office do its job. NOBODY is going to take a pay cut, everyone knows this is business then preference. In a league where your cut today or traded. Then JR tweets you might get what you ask for NY, I MEAN be a man and say I'm leaving so the team can move on. Then he tweets just kidding I might opt in but I think I'm worth more. Pre madonnaa personalities I swear.

Agree 100%. If you can't enjoy watching Lebron or Wade, that's a shame.
Nalod @ 5/12/2012 1:53 PM

Major Kudo's to Lebron of late.

No more clowning or preening. No more dancing and self adulation.

Dude is just straight up taking care of business.

No question he rules the planet.

that said, Im not going to rejoice in any Heat victory.

Respect to pat the rat for getting superfriends signed.

I hate it, but it is what it is.

Players can't restructure. Hahn explained it well in his recent column. Very complex rules.

Hard to make that assumption - how many times were the bulls 1 basket away from losing a series. Scotty Pippen was soooooooooooooo underrated both offensively and defensively and was one of the best finishers on the break that I have seen

Papabear, the reason the heat are able to affored LeBron, Wade, and Bosh and still be under the cap is because they first drafted Dwayne Wade. That enabled them to have his bird rights. They resigned him to max money and it didnt count against their cap, because well they're bird rights. With talent like Wade and a city like miami, which sells itself, they were able to attract two great free agents to their team. They then had the room to sign LeBron to max money and still sign Bosh to max money. They even still had the room to pay pretty decent role players and still, all of this while under the cap.
Now they have a pretty good shot at a championship or even championships.

Kinda makes me wish Knicks management and ownership was as smart .

MrKnickShot says:

Having Bird rights enables a team to resign and go over the cap (while still counting against the cap). Signing Lebron and Bosh at the same time as Wade resigned, the Heat still had to fit them under the cap. So I am not sure I understand what you are saying.

It counts against your cap when it comes to paying dollar for dollar luxury tax under the current cba it is matching the dollar for dollar provision of the old agreement. However, it doesnt count against being able to sign roll players if one of their max players was signed under his bird rights. That is how the Heat are able to afford a good roll player like, say Mike Miller. Well they will be able to afford him up until the 2013-2014 season that is. That is when his salary will make the heat pay significantly more into the new tiered tax to the NBA, at which point he will probably be amnestied. But the point is the Heat had the flexibility to sign three max players and good roll players because Wade is signed under his bird rights. He is signed under his bird rights because he was drafted by the same team he is playing for now. If he was any other max player without bird rights the heat would not be able to sign said player and good roll players. It would be an either/or situation.
