PG-Lin
SG-Belinelli - Until Shump is back
SF-Melo
PF-STAT
C-Tyson

That would actually work, assuming STAT dedicates himself to rebounding.

that's the problem. Why would we expect him to become a better rebounder now, when for years he's tuned out the criticism about him being such a bitch on the boards. Same with defense....dude has to know how bad he is and has never made an effort to improve. Sadly, we are stuck with a lazy guy who only wants to play on one side of the ball, even though his offensive has been pretty bad this year.

WTF happened to his jump shot??? Like someone said, when it's not falling, he resorts to barreling into the paint, resulting in either a charge, turn over or both.

Average BBIQ at best

Yup. That's the issue right there on both sides of the ball.

Pretty sure you can only give the MLE to one player. Not split ut between 2 or more. Can someone confirm?

This lineup would be ideal at this point in time. Even when Shumpert comes back, keep him as the 6th man. We need shooting in the lineup, especially with Lin and Melo on the floor, and Belinelli would be perfect.

Belinelli and Lin would form arguably the worst defensive backcourt in the league. I'd prefer Hinrich.

Just temporary til shump gets back. Belinelli is a very efficient offensive player and like Lin is average defensively. Is he that much worse then Courtney Lee, meeks or others who have been suggested? JR has more potential than all of em defensively but he plays stupid on both ends and even with a pg is far too inconsistent with his jumpshot. Out of 10 games he may have 2 where he actually shoots the ball well. Not efficient from anywhere on the court.

Nice to know we can split the MLE. That makes getting kidd, belinelli & odom are real possibility assuming the arbitrator rules in favor of the knicks.

I think you are judging JR based off of one bad year. He shoots constantly as well as any spot up shooter across the league. I think if retained and put into a roll JR will work fine. Basically, he should be used like Ray Allen and ran off screens for most of the time and only occasionally handle PnR duties. You still must give him PG reps though in practice just for precautionary reasons and use him as a emergency PG.

My biggest fear is the knicks will pursue Nash lose out and then hand Ray Allen the full MLE

Novak should be used like Ray Allen. Smith and Allen have very different games. A lot of JR's production came from quick iso moves and pull back jumpers inside the 3 point line. That's not Ray Allen.

You're going of this year but looking at his career shooting on 3's in transition and spot ups its as good as anyone. Also, Novak can't run. He is James Jones. I say ray Allen because he not only run around but attack the rim if pressured Novak can't do that. What bring JRs

That was JR's worst shooting year of his career. I kept waiting for him to go and tear it up on a hot streak but he never did

Taking the ball out of his hands solves some of his problems.

Ray Allen is going to have surgery for bone spurs in the off season, so little chance of that.

100% agree with this. However, I wouldn't assume that Stat lacks adequate self-respect to improve his game. He was pitiful this season and he must know it inside.

I am all in for Ray Allen for the MLE!

I totally forgot he was a free agent!

Imagine having him and novak on the floor?

I would love to have JKidd (even as a geriatic). Dude's basketball IQ alone is worth a roster spot. Bellineli can at least hit a jumper but, how is New York supposed to afford either much less both of them.

Odom is effective if he feels comfortable where he belongs. Yeah, this season was a bit strange for Odom but this guy was part of the championship Lakers team. How many players other than Chandler can lay claim to that?

I would love to have Odom in Knicks. I would also love to have Kidd in Knicks. I would love to have either Kidd or Nash in Knicks.
