If you offered me Wade for Melo straight up, I would do the trade. In fact, with our team as-is, I think you have to do that trade.
Look at wins produced, win shares or any other good stat assessment. Wade right now is FAR better than Melo. He's better right now in every relevant individual category too (Scoring efficiency, rebounding for position, passing? steals? blocks?). I wouldn't gut my team for either of them now but I'd rather have Wade as a key piece of the team. Tell me what Melo does better than Wade does right now.

Allz im sayin. Its just more convenient an argument to always diminish Melo

The knock against Wade is that he's playing through an injury. The knock against Melo is mental. Big difference, IMHO.
Still I rather have melo because I think he will be better into his 30's
Career wise Wade, he's a more complete player. At this stage of their careers I'd rather have Melo. My biggest knock on Melo is that sometimes he reaches a point in a game, usually in the late stages, when he gives up on his teammates because they aren't producing and tries to cut the deficit all by himself. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. Melo gets a rep that this is how he always plays for four quarters but that's not the case IMO.
Here is the problem:

The question being asked and the question you want to discuss in the first quote involves comparing the two right now. But the basis of your answer has nothing to do with the players right now. Your answer is based on your imagined future performances of the two players.
It is based on right now. Wade is breaking down and will continue to because his style of play and wear and tear over the years because of it will be costly verses melos style of play
Wade is the better player right now, but he is declining.

If it's based on right now, then tell us something concrete about what Melo does better than Wade right now.

MELO is better in....
watching the playoffs rather than competing in 2 straight final appearances...
Its not even debatable
All Melo has to do is come into camp in shape and his style of play will keep him on the floor because he is not getting roughed up near the rim for for the past decade. He is 6'8 not 6'3 and doesn't rely on athletism to score. Sure Wade is a good shooter but the physical toll and mileage on his knees and back are beginning to catch up to him as he enters the down years of his prime.

Shaq, Lebron & Bosh. Other than that Wade is better at leading the league in scoring in his prime on a LOTTERY team
You have to look at the roles they play for their respective teams and who they are playing alongside with.
I expect that Wade would be a different player if James was not on the team and the Miami offense went through him.
Anthony's big issue with MDA was not being the guy our offense went through. His numbers (and perhaps more disgracefully, his effort) changed when MDA quit, Woodson kissed his feet, and Lin got hurt.
Any of you think that Anthony is going to be the dominant player on our Olympics squad? He is not a complete player, and probably never will be. He is also not the leader that Wade has been as a player, and will not be a leader on the Olympics team.
Wade puts a lot of energy and effort into his game, and he has always been injury prone because of this. Seems clear that he has peaked as a player, but he came to the table with many more positives and things he can do on the court than Anthony, and unlike Anthony, he has willingly given up, or chosen to share the spotlight with another superstar, something Anthony would probably not want to do.
You want a guy to take the final shot- maybe you take Anthony over Wade. You want a guy who is a complete player and a winner- you take Wade.
Sacrifice versus selfishness.
Effort versus futility
Hard work versus chilling.
Leadership versus Melo-drama.
Wining versus dreaming.
I will go with Wade

So you give Melo a bump because he's lazier and not as physically gifted and that will allow him to play better when he's old. Well Melo, thanks.

Stop this nonsense. You make it sound like Melo had no teammates and still made the playoffs. He had a pretty good supporting cast. As for Wade, the Heat had a few years of lottery, but the year before LeBron + Bosh, the Heat won 47 games. They also did pretty well when he teamed with Odom.
This is too easy. It's Melo hands down he is a Knick. There aren't many players in the League as clutch as Melo. When motivate Melo can up his game to another level. I'm not a big Wade fan never have been to me he is a over glorified player elevated to star status on the back of Shaq, LeBron, the NBA and the refs.

There are not many guys in the history of the NBA to bring a team to the playoffs without a damn good supporting cast, and as much as I hope for nothing but the top of the rock for Melo and the Knicks, Melo was not, and is not, one of them.
Dominique Wilkins was a maestro of a mediocre team year after year, same with Clyde Drexler, Allen Iverson, Lebron did it in Cleveland. But those occurrences are rare and don't breed championships.
Don't hate on Wade because he's been surrounded by talented guys and succeeded. Look at all the teams stacked with stars over the years who didn't produce a damn thing, the Knicks included.
If you watch basketball, and you've seen Wade's body of work, and you still talk shit about him being lucky, then you should stop watching the NBA, probably basketball altogether.
