What is your best idea for a back up pg?
Do you think Lin is ready to play on a level of basketball we saw the last week?
I don't think we have any players on this roster (Except Tyson) that play at he level of the corresponding Heat starters and that includeds Melo and Amare - so exactly why should Lin be benched again? We don't have a window of beating the Heat with Melo and Amare put down the kool aid.
Really, you don't have to like Melo but you should be honest..Melo is an elite player that can and has played on that level...He performed down the stretch this season...He was the only player we had against the Heat that showed up, where was Chandler?...He showed up last year against Boston in the first round...Amare has tons of playoff experience in Phoenix where he has been a beast...I have to disagree with you wholeheartedly...
The question wasn't about showing up, it was about playing at the level we saw last week. Right now Melo isn't even on the same planet as Lebron, comparing anyone we have to Wade is a joke and Bosh is better than Amare. Show me when Melo has matched Lebron's stats from this playoff series in the playoffs - go ahead. And by stats I don't mean pts scored as the only metric. Lebron has more assists, rebounds, plays incredible defense and Melo has baby fat and a piss poor shooting efficiency. If you want to be "objective" about Lin, then take the same approach with Melo.
Bron is the best player on the planet, no one is playing on his level...For me, I'll take Melo over Wade, and that's not a joke...When healthy, Bosh is not better than Amare...The problem with Amare is he needs a PG that is looking to get him involved...I'll take Melo with the ball in his hands with two minutes left over any player the Heat has, but that's me...You are trying to equate a guy who is essentially rookie to proven all stars...
Mario Chalmers is proven all star? OK, if you say so.
The game isn't played in the last two minutes you need to get through the first 46 without being down 25 if you want the last two minutes to count. Amare's chances of getting healthy are diminishing with each year. And Melo doesn't play Wade's position. As constructed we can't beat heHeat because to do that Melo has to outplay Lebron (ain't happening), JR has to outplay Wade (LOL) and Amare has to outplay Bosh (this is still within the realm of possibility). And yes I think Lin can definitely hold is own against Chalmers once he gets some experience and develops an understanding with his teammates.
Well I thought you were comparing Lin being able to handle the pressure to Melo and Amare not Charlmers, you did say no one on the Knicks can play on that level other than Chandler...As constructed you are correct, we can't beat the Heat...Our PG can't or hasn't handled the defensive pressure the Heat brings to the table...We could accept that as our fate reup and hope he gets better in the off season or sign a vet who we think can handle the pressure...
Basketball is not a series of one on one matchups, if so, Dallas would not have won last year...

However, if Kidd is willing to sign for the vet minimum, it should be a no brainer.
I am not big on Marco Bellinili, he is very small for SG, not athletic, quick, or explosive, can't handle the bball, lacks the ability to create, and cannot defend well.
Heck, I would even rather have Allan Houston...
Could go for shooters, or 2nd round pick, Kim English, that are not drafted as options..
Rather have a minimum player like Kapano, Redd, Anthony Parker, Delonte West for their shooting.
Probably spend a little more for someone on the Spurs, with Danny Green, Gary Neal, Patty Mills
some players that could be signed for cheap to replace JR's production in addition to ur choices
Shannon Brown
Willie Green
Gerald Green, agree with him, could use players like this who just might have figured it out, finding a role like Cory Brewer has.
Courtney Lee is a RFA, so don't know if we would be bidding for his services.

DANNY GREEN! I'm on board with that!
And I'm back on the vet bandwagon with everyone else.
Danny Green, Jason Kidd, Lamar Odom, and draft Kim English. Trade Douglas for a cheap big man. Let's go Knicks!
Big on drafting Kim English now. He's got heart and brains and can shoot from all over the floor.

Because NY breaks old bodies for some reason. Don't know why. But we have been a vet graveyard for many years.

Legitimate HOF-er who won't be taking sh!t from Woodson or his Superstar to pass him the ball on every posession and will actually orchestrate an offense and get Amare involved. I can see the Melo fans losing some sleep. But Melo himself may nix any Nash hiring.

Basketball is not a series of one on one matchups, if so, Dallas would not have won last year...One more time....
I don't think we have any players on this roster (Except Tyson) that play at the level of the corresponding Heat starters and that includeds Melo and Amare
It woulda been nice if the GREAT Tyson Chandler actually showed up in the Heat series. He was quite unimpressive (when we needed him most)

That makes it ok then, maybe he will show up next year...
IrishKnickFan wrote:Yeah and he wouldn't have signed in NY if Melo wasn't teamed up with Amare. And if the knicks didn't make the move for Melo they still have Felton and Lin never gets signed or doesn't get run and is dumped before his contract becomes guaranteed. So the 'smilin evil villain' actually is more than likely the reason Lin is the point and is the reason Tyson is the center. The previous coach decided his own fate by his performance. Believe it.mrKnickShot wrote:Tyson was really sick the first couple games you can tell.loweyecue wrote:holfresh wrote:loweyecue wrote:holfresh wrote:loweyecue wrote:holfresh wrote:loweyecue wrote:holfresh wrote:yellowboy90 wrote:holfresh wrote:gunsnewing wrote:Exactly keyword role player. As JVG says, if you're playing then you are NOT sick. I saw Jordan so sick in a game that he looked like he would collapse during timeouts. He still played great because thats what great players do.
Tyson did not play too well after he "got better" either.
