U spin the truth..U harp on his playoff record when u fully know for two years now the only other two healthy bodies from both years was TD and Fields...Imagine your record is being judged with TD and Field as your only consistent teammates...

To be fair i never blamed melo i said we have bad injuries so its just bad luck not his fault.

David Stern better not fuck this up.
Jmpasq @ 6/24/2012 5:49 PM
Why does the NBA allow a decision to be made by an arbitrator only to not abide by what the arbitrator ruled.
So now the decision is being appealed. Can the players appeal the appellant if they lose the appeal. If not whats the point of the arbitrator.David Stern is seriously the worst man in sports.

Also if the knicks are competitive the NBA benefits a lot more

Viable options if you're gonna go that route??

Also I thought the whole point of the MLE was that you could use it to go over the cap to sign ONE player..not that it gives you $5 Mill to use however you please.

Not really, the Knicks value to the NBA has been second to the Lakers for years without winning a single thing.

Remember when Kobe dropped 80+ pts his career year, well it ended with a lottery draft pick of Bynum.
OKC tried playing that style with much more talent and players, failed, enough said.....
3 games, could have went any way, Game 2,3,and 4, with the calls favoring Heats those games, even in game 1 but OKC was just finished strong...

Dude....OKC failed? They lost in the finals. We didn't lose because of Melo. We lost because we had no one that could shoot BESIDES Melo and no depth.

It's odd that the guy who shoots around 40% is considered the only one who can shoot. And he was 22% from 3 point range.

Yeah - its hard to score 1 on 5 let alone against the best defender in the league by miles. How did Paul Pierce do? And he had help. Uh .... not so good!

It's his fault for playing 1 on 5 when he had teammates hitting 45 to 55% but barely getting any touches.
The KNicks were thoroughly outplayed in that series. What teammates are you referring to?

Actually all the other starters were 44 to 56%.

When you say other starters which games? The lineup changed because of Tyson's illness, Iman's knee injury, Baron's knee injury, Amare's hand, and Jeffries knee issues. I don't remember anyone having a good series other than Mike Bibby.

The regular starters. Tyson, Amare, Landry, and Baron each started at least 4 of the 5 games.

I remember those guys getting touches but I also remember pass to Tyson turnover, pass to Amar'e turnover, pass to Landry turnover, and you do not have to pass to Baron because he will bring the ball up then turn it over.

He might get more than the vet min elsewhere...but either way, he's a guy we need to look at...

I don't want any part of Odom and the Kardashian circus, this dude is not emotionally stable and he's turned into a head case , he's older now 2 I don't see any upside.

not terrible. i like west and green even though green went all landry fields against the thunder. he's young and he shows promise. earl clark i'm not a fan of.

why would the spurs let a promising young player like that go though? we'd have to outbid them and any other team.

GodSaveTheKnicks @ 6/25/2012 3:21 AM
Also Mray I get where you're coming from but 1 year of Odom not playing well shouldn't erase his much longer span of being productive.

The guy was a productive member of championship level teams. The Knicks have no good passers and desperately need a quality backup big man. He can back up both STAT and Melo and he can pass.

On LA he kept getting jerked in and out of the starting lineup whenever Bynum went down and he never uttered a peep to complain. After he helps them win multiple titles they ship his ass out of a place he loves to frikkin DALLAS after he got married to a girl who loves LA too.

He's one season removed from averaging 14 pts, 9 boards, 3 assists and contributing in steals and blocks in only 32 minutes. Oh and he shot 53% from the field and 38% from downtown.

You sure you wouldn't want this guy at a discount????

The point made is that we CAN use the MLE and LLE to fill out the roster with great bench talent instead of spend the whole thing on one guy.

callmened @ 6/25/2012 9:03 AM
Earl clark sux..hes a def sf with no game

West is injury prone and a head case

Green looked like he has potential

its in my sig

Danny Green is another great option

gonna move to the thread that martin posted but i THINK our cap situation is a lot more complex (apron, etc) than just being able to use the MLE + LLE amounts combined to sign a combination of players...

again not sure if i've ever read about a team taking it's midlevel and splitting it. if the knicks have to use it on one player then it's gonna be pretty tough decision.

might prefer odom + kidd vs just nash

GodSaveTheKnicks @ 6/25/2012 2:25 PM
peep what Martin just posted. great explanation and of course it broke down into talking all about Melo. Put my armchair GM plan there but it all makes more sense after reading martin's post
