Knicks · Wade and James diss Knicks (page 1)

This is why I can't stand those two clowns no class whatsoever I hope all the Knicks read this especially Amare and Melo and get motivated

Speaking of trademarks, Dwyane Wade and LeBron James couldn't enjoy their championship without at least one shot at the expense of the Knicks. During a postgame interview on NBA TV, with Matt Winnick, Shaquille O'Neal and Charles Barkley, the topic came up about how Miami had moments during the playoffs when there was great doubt they could advance.

Barkley pointed out how people thought the Heat might lose to the Indiana Pacers and Boston Celtics after Miami trailed in both series. Then Wade giggled said: "Don't forget New York. They said we can lose to New York, too."

To which LeBron added, "They said that would be a tough series." More laughing ensued.

"Nobody who knew anything about basketball said that," Barkley then said, which had the panel hysterical.

Let me remind you here, LeBron was the one in July 2010, before Carmelo Anthony's wedding, who brashly told his buddies Melo and Chris Paul that if they wanted any chance to win a title against the new-formed Heatles, they should team up with Amar'e in New York. Hours later, Paul made a famous toast. Weeks later, Melo told the Nuggets he wanted to be traded to the Knicks.

I'm telling you now, we've only just begun.

Exactly; those comments are well deserved. Sadly, Tyson is probably the only one of our big money players who uses comments like that as extra motivation.

Pity he did not use the derogatory comments about the knicks this year to motivate him in the playoffs against Miami.

knicks1248 @ 6/25/2012 9:46 PM
really lafag..we were plagued with injuries and had a roster that had not been together for more then 30 games at a time, new coach, no training camp..atleat we didn't cry like some bitches..

don't worry we'll be back stronger, better, faster, smarter..

They should of ask him, do think you would have beat the knicks with out wade, charlmers and battier..

nixluva @ 6/25/2012 9:55 PM
The Heat are lucky that they faced a severely weakened Knicks team. I think that the Knicks really aren't as far away from challenging the Heat as they looked this year. Tho the Heat were a much more tested team having been together for 2 years. The Knicks have a lot more growth to experience before they can match up with the Heat but that process did begin last year to a certain extent. I'll be interested to see how this battle plays out over the next few years.

If you think the Knicks have no real room to improve just look at the Heat. They're already completely capped out for the next 3 years:

Player 2012/13 2013/14 2014/15 2015/16
LeBron James $17,545,000 $19,067,500 $20,590,000 $22,112,500
Chris Bosh $17,545,000 $19,067,500 $20,590,000 $22,112,500
Dwyane Wade $17,024,000 $18,536,000 $20,048,000 $21,560,000
Mike Miller $5,800,000 $6,200,000 $6,600,000 $0
Mario Chalmers $4,000,000 $4,000,000 $0 $0
Udonis Haslem $4,060,000 $4,340,000 $4,620,000 $0
Joel Anthony $3,750,000 $3,800,000 $3,800,000 $0
James Jones $3,350,000 $1,500,000 $0 $0
Shane Battier $3,135,000 $3,270,000 $0 $0
Norris Cole $1,113,600 $1,191,240 $2,150,188 $3,203,780
Ronny Turiaf $1,200,000 $0 $0 $0

TOTALS: $78,522,600 $75,781,000 $76,248,000 $65,785,000

The Heat won't be able to really do much to improve either. They will have to look for some kind of trade in order to make any significant change. Thing is they don't have much to offer a team in trade. I do believe that they have their Amnesty left tho, which could help them out if they use it. I'm not sure about that tho.

BigDaddyG @ 6/25/2012 10:19 PM
Yeah, the only way for us to gain their respect is too take it too them the next time we see them. At least they were smart enough to wait until they won before they started. Last time they thought ish was funny, Dirk ate them like they were an open bratwurst buffet at Oktoberfest. Also, I don't remember Wade laughing when Shump was healthy and not falling for that tired crossover move...
youngandalmostfamous @ 6/26/2012 1:39 AM
Heat no way to improve lol. They got a guy who's a truck and plays like magic johnson stop the hate. Those comments well deserved. Yea I'm a knick fan. But if your cocky arrogant and talk back to the media AND win.

Well deserved.

Had to edit again. No room? They got cole and chalmers who are good pieces

Yeah, no room to improve? How much improvement do they need?
OasisBU @ 6/26/2012 6:56 AM
They aren't the only ones laughing at the Knicks. I work with a lot of guys from Chicago and get a healthy dose of Knick bashing whenever basketball comes up.

Many on this board actually wanted the heat in the first round and said we match up well - not taking into account their defense, their previous run to the finals, and another season of experience under their belt. Not to mention their 2 best players are superior to ours. Sure we had injuries and other circumstances that held us back from our full potential - but we are not on the same level.

fishmike @ 6/26/2012 7:42 AM
maybe they were just calling it like they saw it
Nalod @ 6/26/2012 7:50 AM

They won it all. They can laugh.

Good for them.

They destroyed us. Shump was not hurt going in nor was Baron. Go back and read some comments and Im sure many thought it would be a tougher series.

4-1 for what ever reason is still 4-1.

Next year? Its always gonna be better right?

Take the diss like a man. We had to have a great run to end the season just to get to the 7th seed. We could have had the 6th but we fell asleep.

Who knew being 8th was the place to be?

considering how undermanned we were (team was riddled with injuries) and no point guard to boot, I think we did well, all things considered. People who say we did terrible lack perspective.

+1
I like where we are/will be as opposed to where we were. The glass is half-full, my friends... which reminds me of a song...

We need to start some player off-season workout watch threads like we had with Shumpy during the lockout.

franco12 @ 6/26/2012 8:30 AM
Did Michael Jordan ever behave like this?

I'm sorry, but whether the Knicks deserve such trash talk or not is irrelevant. Lebron could blow out a knee and be finished tomorrow.

nyvector16 @ 6/26/2012 8:58 AM
We had both our Starting PG and our Starting Shooting guard go down with horrific Knee injuries in the same series very early on. That would be the equivalent of them losing Wade and Chalmers... I don't think there has ever been a playoff series where 2 starting guards of one team have gone down in the Manner Shumpert & Davis did. On top of the fact that we were without Lin and our starting Center was pretty much a semblance of the walking Dead with a high fever for 2 games. Anyone who doesn't at least give the Knicks credit for even putting up a fight is just biased.
Vmart @ 6/26/2012 9:25 AM
Amare did it to us again. Tough year for him but he has to stop twittering and get focused forget that brand shyt get back to basketball. This team will only go as far as he wants it to go. Melo can only do so much by himself, for the last two years now it all falls on Melo. Wade and LeBron can do whatever they want and say what they want right now they are on the mountain top.

Hopefully the Knicks can improve would like to add Kidd to the team. But that appeal by the NBA is going to come through so Glen Grunwald has to be creative.

I watched this and you have to put it into context. Barkley was talking about how people were saying Indiana would beat them, how Boston would beat them, and Lebron and Wade laughed like "Yeah they did they say that but they didn't." Then Wade brought up New York, which Barkley did not bring up, and then Barkley (who has always hated NY) made a joke that no one who knew basketball thought that, and they laughed at the joke. In a way this was Barkley being disrespectful and I did not see James nor Wade be disrespectful, they just laughed at Barkley's humor. In fact a second later James became serious again.

I hope Melo and others use it as motivation to perform better, but watching it I did not see anything disrespectful by Lebron James.

@franco12: Jordan was a far worse person to others, just watch his fantastic Hall of Fame Speech.

Barkley is such a girl. Dude is still salty about New York bringing out the broom when we swept his team. Probably blames New York for Oakley totally bytching him on more than one occasion.

Nalod @ 6/26/2012 3:30 PM
Glad to hear Lebron was cool with it. He is learning being a clown comes back hard.

Barkley will respect the knicks when they are feared on the court.

Barkley was laughing at the media who pumped the fans up to think we could take on Miami.

Its funny stuff actually.

Charles is a "personality" and to some extend understands the hype machine. Uses it to his advantage.
