Jarred Bayless is now a UFA. I think the knicks need another young pg for emergency. He would be nice and I wouldn't be mad taking on Flynn. If they can get Foye then it brings down the need but to me he is more a 2 guard.

Uh oh, Camby is visiting the Heat on Saturday and then the Knicks. Said he'll only sign for the MMLE, not the vets minimum. So basically if Ray Allen doesn't sign with the heat, Camby probably will as they can give him a starting role. Seeing him on the Heat roster will be a horrible day for Knick fans

Why the heck are the Knicks not trying to get J.J. Hickson?

He's a scoring forward who doesn't rebound or defend very well and we already have Amare for that.

at three mill that good insurance.

I'm sure at this point Camby is our top target with Martin as plan b.

yellowboy...yeah i love jj hickson 2 but i think hes gonna be too expensive...i was never a kmart fan but hes good and i like the "charles oakley mean guy" swagger he brings...so i wouldnt mind him...camby is asking for too much and he wants to start

Sure his agent and him are looking for a starting gig, and lots more money than the Knicks can offer.
I think he'll get that starting gig and a bundle of cash.

The Wolves have reached out to unrestricted free agent two-guard Courtney Lee, who has a big fan in Wolves coach Rick Adelman. It's even possible a visit is set up soon.

For now, the Wolves have no other visits scheduled. The team source indicated Lee is a higher priority than fellow free-agent guards O.J. Mayo and Lou Williams.

Camby said he wouldn't take less than the mle.

y2zipper @ 7/6/2012 11:58 PM
The Knicks can make Kidd a sign-and-trade and then get their MLE back for Camby if Dallas agrees to take non-guaranteed contracts and then just cut guys for cap savings.

Attain is sport legion a reliable source? I haven't seen anything from other guys on twitter confirming this.

Double checked and haven't seen anything else involving Joel Anthony so my bad on that one. But, Houston is open to doing a sign and trade and with Camby not open to taking the vet min, it will most likely be the only way for the Heat to acquire him.

Don't know how reliable they are, but if you look at my post in the Camby thread, I think James Jones is more likely to be used in a S&T as he's a $3mil expiring, where as Joel Anthony has 2 or 3 years left and sucks.

Ha, I see Kahn has moved on from his PG fettish, and now has a SG fettish. Didn't they just sign Brandon Roy? Other players they have that can play SG:

Martell Webster
Malcolm Lee
Wes Johnson
Wayne Ellington
Nicolas Batum
Brandon Roy

This is probably how the Knicks would have to work it, either a sign and trade for Camby, or a sign and trade for Kidd. Personally, I think there are younger, equally as useful options available for the money though.

Greg Stiemsma
Ryan Hollins
Earl Clark
Ian Mahimni

If the Heat want to land their next free-agent target, veteran center Marcus Camby, Riley is going have to make the same sale or likely lose out to the New York Knicks.

Camby's current starting point for salary, sources said, is $3 million per season on a multiyear deal. The only way for the Heat to make that work is a sign-and-trade with the Houston Rockets, who own Camby's rights. The Rockets, however, are interested in a sign-and-trade with the Knicks but not with the Heat, sources told ESPN.com.

The Heat are scheduled to host veteran power forward Rashard Lewis on Sunday, who was recently bought out by the New Orleans Hornets. With Allen set to take the Heat's mid-level exception when he signs after July 11, Lewis is facing the same option in Miami as Camby.
OasisBU @ 7/7/2012 6:20 PM
Camby is still grabbing around 10 rebounds and 1.5 blocks in a little over 20 min. We could seriously use him.

totally agree, I love what Camby brings but I don't know if he can play at PF with Tyson Chandler because of their poor shooting, lack of offense, and the speed to play together.
He is a shot blocker and good defender regardless of his age. But there are other options that are younger that can play with Chandler.
I feel between Jeffries and Camby, they are both are expected to miss a good amount of games, we should choose between 1 of them.
I believe we have Jeffries early bird rights and I think giving him a contract like what Reggie Evans got for 5m for 3 years would give him some security that he has earned.

Camby is a weak side shot blocker, while if he can play with Camby, it will allow us to have a great presence together.
Tyson Chandler needs helps, without Iman, and a legit PF, that can rebound/block shots and spread the floor.

With Kidd, Tyson Chandler, possibly Camby/Pablo *36 year old Spaniard PG*, we should look to add some younglings that would be able to learn of these guys.
We are already investing money in these type of veterans already, why not bring in players that they could take under their wing, and help their development.
It would make sense to have players that can learn and have potential to develop, if we are already signing veterans that can mentor them to multi year deals.
I agree with everyone on your list, would like to add a couple of other options.

I think aside from Lin, we should also get a PG like

PG
Scott Machado
Tu Holloway
Jardine

SG/SF
Hollis Thompson
Alex Young
William Buford

SF/PF
John Shurna Stretch 3/4
Drew Gorden

PF/C
Henry Sims, I think he would be a great player to pick up with his length/agility to learn under Chandler/Camby

FAs - VET MIN possibles

Anthony Tolliver

Gaines
Delonte West
Gereld Green

More than Vet min FAs
Gary Neal
Danny Green

Nate Robinson - With Kidd, he no longer is a good penetration player, I think we need another guard that can penetrate, hit a 3point shot, and is capable of executing and use the picks of our Bigs like JJ Barea did with Dallas. Kidd can still space the floor with his improved 3point shot and has great passing ability. At his age and shape now, he is a 3rd option penetration player and we need another player that can break our opponents defense, outside of Lin. Nate Robinson will always be doubted, but he has improved much, I watched him in GS last year and I was very impressed with how much has has developed since and is in great shape.
