Knicks · Knicks sign Jason Kidd - will either match Lin or sign Felton?!!?! WHAT? (page 2)

I'm just glad we finally got a backup.
holfresh @ 7/5/2012 4:56 PM
What can I say ..We like cornering the market on 40 yr old PG..Some one wake me up from this bad bad dream...
gunsnewing @ 7/5/2012 4:56 PM
I like Felton but I trust Kidd's leadership & ability to get everyone involved than a felton/amare one dimensional pick n roll. Awesome news made my day!

If the Knicks sign Lin and then S/T him to the highest bidder
after securing Felton, I'm going to cheer like crazy.

You can't match and trade. Knicks wouldn't be able to trade Lin for 90 days.

And Kidd just got the MLE, so there's no way to sign Felton unless they get him via a S&T with Portland.

But.....Lin does not have a signed offer sheet, so there is no "match".
Sign and trade him to Houston like BRIGGS suggests for Jeremy Lamb and #1 pick.

Wow!!!!

Re-sign Lin stat! Kidd will be the ultimate teacher.

Bonn1997 @ 7/5/2012 4:58 PM
Kidd was the BPA. I can't complain about this.
gunsnewing @ 7/5/2012 4:59 PM
Another thing kidd is a better 3pt shooter than felton
Nalod @ 7/5/2012 4:59 PM
Kidd and Tyson got the cred to lead.

Adds a dimension to dilute Melo "leadership"

This looks good to for mentorship for Lin to be the new Jedi.

Kidd is still a clutch guy. Lin has the stones to deliver.

Kidd don't make or break a team but its a nice addition and more vet leadership.

I think Kidd and Lin is a better fit as a PG tandem than Felton and Lin, so I'll say that.

I hope Kidd can be a good mentor... and not the guy who yanked Lin to the floor by his hair...

Believe it b@tches!

LOL sorry man its been.a crazy day!

Kidd played with Melo in the '08 Olympic Gold medal squad...that's gotta mean something right as far as veteran leadership goes right? 2 Champions on the Knick roster, Kidd and Chandler, can only be a good thing.
smackeddog @ 7/5/2012 5:01 PM
I hate this move- what a waste of the MLE. Kidd is past it, he'll be mike Bibby soon. At least Felton could play defense. Urgh....
holfresh @ 7/5/2012 5:02 PM
What of Lin doesnt live up to expectations or cant bare the rigors of the NBA?
gunsnewing @ 7/5/2012 5:02 PM

He wont be starting and playing big minutes like he did last year. 15mins is all. Now lets get Camby & a sg!!

holfresh @ 7/5/2012 5:03 PM
Kidd average 6.2 pts last season and people are going nuts for this signing..wow just wow
JrZyHuStLa @ 7/5/2012 5:04 PM
This is the smartest PG the Knicks have had since Frazier.

crzymdups wrote:I'm not sure I think Kidd is a better player than Felton right now. And certainly not for the next three years. I think this is an understandable move... Kidd is a "Veteran PG with a RING" etc, but I think Felton is the better player.

I dunno.

If Lin doesn't come back, I might be done.

kidd will except his role without a problem. Felton who knows. One bad game from Lin and the media will make sure lin loses his confidence and goes to the bench
gunsnewing @ 7/5/2012 5:05 PM
#2 alltime assists leader
VDesai @ 7/5/2012 5:05 PM
I think its a good signing. Kidd knows how to play the position as well as anyone ever. Hopefully he will help Lin cut down on turnovers and improve his D
holfresh @ 7/5/2012 5:06 PM
How do you go into the offseason and come away with Jason Kidd and that be a positive..Bibby was great for us last year..
