Depends hiw badly he wants to play in NY. With the current knicks roster I think he will ssriously consider. He loves ny. 1.3m vet min and give a sg who can shoot 3's the vet min as well. Maybe Korver
Rumor has it that Camby loves NY but won't take the minimum. A sign & trade for Kidd means that Camby could take the MLE and we'd get both, but it may not be realistic.

$5M is the full MLE which the Knicks can't use.
$3M is the taxpayer MLE.
$1.8M is the LLE.
$1.4M is the veteran minimum for guys who have 10 years of service.

Would thin skinned Dolan bring Camby back? Remember how Camby and Latrell landed on his naughty list for blowing off some PR meetings Dolan was trying to setup.

huh? the knicks are trying to work out a sign and trade with dallas so they can offer camby the MLE. even if that doesn't work, they have the LLE before the vet min.
Berger saying knicks may have the inside track on camby because of grunwald and non guaranteed contracts to use in a sign and trade.

Knicks NEED the depth. Its a long season. Even 15 minutes a night from quality vets like Kidd and Camby would be huge for this team.
Okay, so basically, depending on the way we decide to aquire Kidd (either MMLE or sign and trade), here's what Miami and the Knicks can offer to get Camby:
Heat- James Jones ($3.35mil expiring)
Joel Anthony ($3.8mil per year, up to 3 years).
Both of them are terrible players, and I think Joel Anthony's has too many years on it. James Jones coupled with $3mil cash would basically cost the Rockets nothing, plus a pick or two would probably get it done. In addition, this means the Heat could offer Camby a salary of around $4mil+, and he'd be their starting centre.
Knicks: Either the MMLE if we trade for Kidd, or a combination of these players in a S&T:
TD ($2mil expiring)
Jorts ($765,000 expiring)
Jerome Jordan ($765,000 expiring)
Dan Gadzuric ($1.3mil non-guaranteed)
draft rights to the 2 Greek players and the PF we got from the Mavs
According to Ken Berger we can take back 150% salary, so essentially we can trade $2mil worth of contracts to give Camby $3mil. Unless he rediscovers his love of the Knicks, he'll probably end up with the Heat. I'd hate to see that, but realistically we still need a SG or combo guard that can shoot and defend, and we'd have nothing left to help us get if we traded for Camby. Maybe getting Randy Foye and Kenyon Martin would be the smarter thing to do.
With Houston losing both of their PGs, i think they would be interested in a s/t involving Douglas for Camby. Gadzuric and Douglas for Camby is reasonable.
