How did he get 10 mil when he was forced to retire less than a year ago because of chronic knee problems?? There's a lot of madness this offseason with these contracts, owners locked the players out and are still throwing out ridiculous contracts smh.
the lockout wasn't about "fixing the system" it was a shameless cash grab by the owners.
players used to get 57% of revenue, now get 51% of revenue. and there's your reason for the lockout.
The draft thread was created for this. Who cares about the Timberwolves anyways?

Is this really all about the new CBA or is it about owners making dumb decisions that would make under any CBA? I've noticed a bizarre pattern here: every time an owner offers a player too much money, it is considered to be the fault of the new CBA.

? Did the T-Wolves just draft a different guy named Brandon Roy?
What the Wolves pay him the Blazers don't.
If portland owed him 35 mil, Minny now pays 10, and Portland just owes him 25. Something like that.
why not just pay him the minimum? I don't know.
Its a low risk deal.

It's not the new CBA itself. It's the owners insisting on it because they want to be competitive all around and they want less albatross contracts, yet they continue handing out insane contracts and Dwight Howard is probably leaving his own team to play in Brooklyn.
This was pure greed on the owners part, and now they are looking exposed plus really stupid.

I'm hoping that he just substituted "draft" for "free agency."
surprised no one picked up Roy for 1m or so when he got amnestied...
