Who is the best realistic target with the mini mid level? Do we target a SG or a big man?
SG: S Brown, D Green, G Green, Weems, Foye, Meeks
Big man: Camby, Martin, Tolliver, Diaw, A Randolph, Stiemsma
These are just a handful of realistic targets.
Camby.
If there's a real chance at Mayo I think the Knicks will pursue that first. But I think Indiana or Phoenix or someone will give Mayo more money.
From what I've read Camby wants to start but I've also read that he wouldn't mind coming back to NY. I worry about him breaking down again.
Randolph is a UFA and it looks like the Celtics and the Mavs are interested. Have to admit that the Celtics would be a great fit for him. Randolph could learn the game from Garnett and judging by his interactions with coaches, Doc might be the one who could get through to him and bring out his best. Randolph is very immature and Rivers might be the kind of father figure he needs. I doubt he could handle Woodson.
I never nderstand why anyone would want to go for Mayo. We need someone who can consistantly hit the open 3. Signing Ray Allen is not going to happen, so I would rather go with Camby for a bigman or Foye for a SG.

I feel like the most realistic option is adding either Foye or Shannon Brown with the MMLE at 3-years 9M and Kenyon Martin with the LLE at 2 years 4M or whatever it is (1.8M per season.)
I think the best thing to do is wait to see who is signed because some decent players maybe let go to make cap room.

I would love Mayo, but i agree he is very similar to Smith. I think Foye and Shannon Brown could both be decent fits on this current team.
I think that you're going to see Dallas make plays for Mayo, Foye, Randolph since they were shut out and those guys will agree to shorter contracts.
Would be nice to sign and trade JR for Mayo.
Courtney Lee is solid option if we can make kidd a sign and trade and someone that would be good to pencil in from a defensive standpoint.

I do think he'll go to the Heat though- ther're really the only contender that can offer him a starting role. Seeing Camby in a Heat jersey will make me puke.

We're in a tricky situation as we basically need some shooting and rebounding and defense. We need a 3rd string PG, a starting SG who can play 20mins+, and an upgrade in our front court back ups. And we don't have much we can use to get all of those things.
