That is another high quality young MLE prospect for what we need.

Were not sarting kidd so where's he going to get PT, and he's not a 2g by any stretch
VCoug@ 7/6/2012 4:04 PM
I don't know that he has a role on this team. We already have Lin to start and we just got Kidd to back him up. Where would he play?

Well not naturally but he's a Scoring PG and I think he's 6-3 ish no? He's a heck of an athlete with a smoothe handle and a pretty good jumper. I think he could play SG.

Well we need more than 2 guards!! He shot 42% from 3 point range last year--can dribble drive a good passer rebounder--how about hes a good player who can help the team. Were banking on TO TD?

THis goes towards the whole SG situation. We need a stop gap from the season opener until Shump gets back healthy (All Star Break?). But when we have Kidd, Lin, JR, and Shump, does Bayless want to be our 5th guard?
check his stats as a starter....they are very good...he's just a talent that I just can't understand why nobody is checking for him.
And he can absolutely play shooting guard full time. He's a scorer
EnySpree@ 7/6/2012 4:14 PM
From my thread on Bayless....
I was thinking...Bayless wasn't extended his qualifying offer....why I dunno because he has been a super talent for them.
What's the difference between Bayless and Eric Gordon? Probably 10-12 million dollars. Bayless has proved he could produce plenty of times throughout his career. He was Portlands second wheel to Brandon Roy in the playoffs one year only for him to end up on Toronto some how....in Toronto he was brilliant while Jose Calderon was hurt. When Calderon was back they went back to burrying Bayless on the bench.
Bayless and Eric Gordon are both 6'3" and 210-220 pounds. They both are stubby but powerful guys. Their athletisism and scoring ability are very comparrible. I'm thinking the Knicks need to contact Jerryd Bayless asap and try to sign him to a contract.
Injuries? Eric Gordon got the max even though he hasn't played much in over a year with knee problems. Bayless had a sports hernia or some shit that shut him down last year. I think Bayless risk is less and he could come here and possible start at the shooting guard spot and do very well next to Lin.

See the thing is that Kidd is old an even though he will be a back up you still want to save his body for the playoffs. Which is where a 3 pg would come in handy for nights when you want to rest Kidd. I see him as TD plus.

But do we need more than 2 point guards? I don't see this guy playing the 2 for us.

the problem with him is that hes not a PG...hes a shooting guard trapped in a PGs body but he cant shoot...plus hes injury prone...
id take him as a stop gap til shump gets back...but id rather have LEE

The problem with your statement is its based on the stigma that he has on his head. Check the links I posted and also read my posts here on him....as a starter the dude is legit.
He's definately not a true pass first point guard, but neither is Eric Gordon and they are the same exact size!!! but nobody has a problem with him at shooting guard.
callmened@ 7/6/2012 4:55 PM
o ive been watching him play ever since he was a HS all american that chose to go to Arizona for one yr...i was expecting great things from him (kinda like a tony parker type)...im not sayin hes a bad player...if anything im more worried about him being injury prone
Jmpasq@ 7/6/2012 4:58 PM
Id like to hit Skip Bayless with a Brick

Eric Gordon just signed a max deal after coming off a knee injury that sidelined him almost a whole season. Dwight Howard just had back surgery but cats still want him for the max and will trade their franchise for him.
It just comes down to why certain guys get a pass and why other guys can't get a break.

I see where you coming from but do you really worry about that when he is your 3rd guard?
EnySpree@ 7/6/2012 5:01 PM
Oh and Shump might not even come back till after the all star break.....that's realistic cuz thats the normal expectations for guys that have the same injury....in other words Shump can't be relied on this season. maybe in time for the playoffs. Knicks need to start from day one not when Shump gets back
callmened@ 7/6/2012 5:02 PM
true good point...but are we looking for a STARTING SG (im not ready to start JR yet...hes too insane)..or a back up to JR...i was hoping to get courtney lee

Courtney Lee is good....but the knicks probably would have to pay more. Bayless is still in that relm where we could probably snatch him cheaper. This guy James White might end up being close to Courtney Lee too.
tj23@ 7/6/2012 9:21 PM
Bay less might not be a legit starter, but Courtney Lee is DEFINITELY NOT starting material.
callmened@ 7/6/2012 9:43 PM
why isnt lee a starter?...hes no star...but y not a starter?
