We talkin' bout Facial hair! Not a game! Not a game! But facial hair! Wow.
I think his headband is sitting three-quarters of an inch lower on his brow. Fraud.
The hate for Melo and Stat on these boards is ridiculous. Melo loses 12lb (and he clearly has if you watch some videos), and people say he's gained weight or stayed the same. Even the Olympic teams coaches said he was in great shape.
Fact: Melo and Stat are working their asses off for next season, right now. Most players are relaxing and taking a few months off. That's commitment.
Melo got us into the playoffs- that's a fact too. Why has everyone forgotten that end to the season?! He was an ass until D'Antoni got fired (which most of you wanted), but he redeemed himself in the end- in that stretch of games where Amar'e and Lin were out, he was awesome- and I'm not even a big Melo fan.
When you see these guys in person its remarkable how skinny they are.
Melo is 6-8!
Camera adds 20 lbs right?

Unless I missed something, no one commented on Melo's facial hair.

Much better looking than the crap which constitutes Anthony's "facial hair."
Yes they did talk about his facial hair. WTF!?
PAUSE
Why the hell are we talking about Melo's hair? Kobe comments are just funny tho.

wasn't fired: Melo stole
's joy.
The Body Conscious UKers among us I'm sure just want to see signs that Melo is pairing his impressive talent with a maniacal devotion to conditioning. He sure looked out of shape to many of us in the beginning of the season. My theory is living and training in Denver gave him a built-in edge, and moving back to sea level closer to banging Puerto Rican food with his banging Nuyorican wife was partly to blame.
But yea... sometimes the UK Musclewatch is just too much. Didn't someone here call Durant out for not being able to bench press whatever amount? He's not a shot-putter for Jah Jah's sake... a basketball weighs under two pounds and you can't hand check, so who cares?

I made a comment, actually.
That scrubby thing on his chin has always annoyed me, to be honest. As for Bryant's, I would keep it if I were him- its a good look for his face.
As far as facial hair goes- if you can't grow it right... don't grow it at all.
By the way, I don't think he looks heavier in the photo, for what that is worth.
Some folks are mighty sensitive, though, about protecting Carmelo. I just hope I haven't hurt his self-esteem.

My bad. I missed it. I think his goatee looks good.

It's the "Knick" effect. Join the Knicks, gain 20 lbs.
Melo look,like he lost weight.
I don't visit a lot of online Knicks/Basketball message boards but is conversation about another mans appearance normal talk?
I have my one Mets and Giants forum I lurk in and there is never convo about how much weight "so & so lost or gain". Folks here talk about that kind of stuff a lot. Examining pictures and sh*t. Seems odd to me.
He looks like he's a few inches shorter

5. Carmelo is wearing shorts by Omar The Tentmaker.
4. His calf muscles look more muscular and defined, even though he is in a relaxed pose
3. He is wearing Kurt Thomas' numeral on his practice jersey. Could it be a hint of more physical play inside?
2. Wearing a blue jersey, while Kobe and Lebron are in white, means he ain't starting.
1. The Answer Man is cool with Carmelo coming off the bench in London. The less wear and tear, the better.
He wearing a ankle brace on his left calf?

If you've been paying attention I spent countless hours defending Melo. One of his biggest supporters. I will always defend those who are unfairly judged
