Knicks · Official veteran minimum players we should target (page 1)

RonRon @ 7/9/2012 9:56 PM
We have many roster spots now and we will be fighting with BKLYN and the rest of the league.

Delonte West
Gaines
Keyon Dooling
Jannero Pargo
Royal Ivey
Pargo
Fisher
Lester Hudson
Mike James
AJ Price
Arroyo
Nate Robinson *wonder how much he will get with his size issues but he played very well for GS last year, not sure what his value would be*
Gary Neal *doubt veteran minimum would be enough, but if he doesn't get offered more than 2.5m+, he might consider taking a pay cut that would find PT at backup PG/SG

Bellini
Ronnie Brewer
Grant Hill
Willie Green
Raja Bell
Livingston
ReDD
Sonny Weems
Cj Miles
Tracy McGrady
Morris Almond
Ronnie Price

Deshawn Stevenson
Pietrus

Terrence Williams
Donte Green
Kapono
Bobby Simmons
Damion James
Al Thornton
Mo Evans
Sam Young
Barnes
Pavlovic

Anthony Tolliver
Rashard Lewis just agreed to sign with Miami
Jamsion
Metta World Peace *I would be VERY SURPRISED if he doesn't get waived this year*
CDR
Luke Walton

Kenyon Martin
Louis Amudson
James Singleton
DJ White
Rodmanovic
MR. Diabetic Morrison

Ivan Johnson

Haddayi
Turiaf
Jermaine Oneal

Joel Przybilla
Wilcox
Fesenko
Kwame Brown
Yi
Shelden Williams
Nazr
Rasheed Wallace

Remember Devin Green and the other 6'11 guy in summer league last year that didn't make the team?
They didn't look too bad to me

Amnesty Targets/Buy outs
===========================

Metta World Peace *I would be VERY SURPRISED if he doesn't get waived this year*

Francisco Garcia

John Salmons

Maggette

Andray Blatche

Bulls players that probably will not make the team this season with team options
========================================================================================

Ronnie Brewer
Korver
Watson

Leaving out RFA, European Players, Undrafted Players, and D Leaguers, there legit rotation players on all leagues/FA's to fill up though.
Probably should target younger 20-26 years of age, with versatility to save roster spots if they can play more positions, potential, and ability to contribute on limited roles.

I will continue to update the list and edit it to see who is available, fits with our squad, with our thoughts and as players signings...
so everyone can see it on one thread....

Starting 5
===================

1) Lin
2) JR Smith *doubt he will start, but we only have 1 SG right now, not sure about White
3_ Melo
4) AMare
5) Tyson

Bench
=================
6) Kidd
7) Camby
8) Novak
9) White
10 ____
11 _____

12 ____
13 ____

Reserve players, can be switched every day, can send them to D league to develop
==================================================================================
14 Iman Shumpert
15

Jeffries??? he didn't resign yet, not sure if he has been offered a contract.
IF Knick's can offer him more $ for early bird rights and do not offer him a multiyear deal, I can see him going to another team that would pay him more.

We can have 15 players on the roster, 13 are eligible to play so Iman will be on the Injured list, we can have 14 other players.

So right now we have 5 spots, 4 ACTIVE spots to play because of Iman's injury.

if he wasn't a weirdo I think he would have a 3m+ multi year deal.
We have a lot of vets and Kidd that played with him last season.
I am sure he has matured a bit since his earlier days.

He is mentally ill and very unstable. His issues are at least partially organic.
martin @ 7/9/2012 11:03 PM
hmm I like Raja Bell.
Knixkik @ 7/9/2012 11:05 PM
Green and Bell are both good options.
loweyecue @ 7/9/2012 11:06 PM
So we can give vet min to multiple players?
yellowboy90 @ 7/9/2012 11:15 PM
loweyecue wrote:So we can give vet min to multiple players?

U can go over to sign as many vet min u want

VDesai @ 7/9/2012 11:18 PM
Raja Bell is the kind of player we need. A guy who plays defense and sticks the corner 3. Every championship team seems to have this guy.

He wants to go to Miami. If he can't get Miami, the Lakers are probably ahead of us.

no idea why he would want to go to Miami to play SG behind Wade, Ray Allen. Other guards on that team: James Jones, Cole, Chalmers. And Battier and Miller can play there in a pinch.

VDesai @ 7/9/2012 11:23 PM
Yeah- the Heat have the better version of Bell who is Shane Battier. I think this is a good situation for Bell. He could probably start here for a few months while Shumpert is out.

Supposedly wants to go back to his hometown.

markvmc @ 7/10/2012 12:09 AM
West.

If for no other reason than to mess with LeBron's head come the playoffs.

y2zipper @ 7/10/2012 12:10 AM
World Peace won't be waived this year. The Lakers are going to keep him. They have no reason to waive or amnesty him.
NYKBocker @ 7/10/2012 12:24 AM
Look for these 2 players we acquired from Dallas to be signed for this coming season.

Giorgos Printezis

Ahmad Nivins

tj23 @ 7/10/2012 8:01 AM
I would kill for John salmons. He would shine here. Skilled ball handler, can spread floor, and shoot off dribble very well. He just can't create his own shot well enough anymore.
tj23 @ 7/10/2012 8:05 AM
And west, pietrus and martin all are very solid role players. I just wouldn't go for any guys with big ego's or guys that need touches. So I'd stay clear of Metta as well as Maggettee.
AnubisADL @ 7/10/2012 8:08 AM
Well with our guard depth at the moment I doubt many would want to sign here and possibly collect splinters. Delonte West would be my #1 choice purely on value. He can play PG and SG and would likely be willing to sign a 1 yr deal.

Chandler/Camby
Amare/Jefferies
Melo/Novak/White
Smith/
Lin/Kidd

Team is still pretty thin actually after the Camby trade. I honestly hope we can still get another guard and forward.

Pretty thin? You just listed 10 players and the 11th will be a 3rd string PG. Temporary SG is the easiest position to fill in the NBA.
