It's amazing what can happen when your GM is allowed to his job.

I know just think, we could still have injury prone gallo, inconsistant wilson chandler, project mosgov, and deer in haedlights Randolph.. and on our way to a title giving up 115 pg

AnubisADL @ 7/12/2012 10:22 AM
Hibbert max deal?

SMH.

ChuckBuck @ 7/12/2012 10:26 AM
If Donnie was still GM, don't think we get Tyson and witness Linsanity, let alone get Kidd and Camby. It's not in Donnie's DNA, he's the anti-starphuck GM. He's had decent to very good success over the years, but I wouldn't suck his farts yet because he got Ian Mahinmi LOL.

Pacers don't have much of a choice but to match. With Hibbert they should win their division and improve on last season. Without him they might as well blow up their team because they definitely won't improve anytime soon.

RonRon @ 7/12/2012 3:55 PM
you guys to realize they will be in the hunt for Cp3 with room to sign him outright and assets to trade for him....

The next lockout / strike is gonna be fun, eh?

Are both guys expirings? I don't think the strategy for 2010 applies here. I wonder if he wants bigs and thinks he can sign a point.

Can't LA offer him the most money? Why leave Blake Griffin? Why leave LA for Indiana of all cities? Ewww...

Yep, but he has not yet agreed to sign that extension.
So not sure if Clippers will take his word for it or do what they do best, REBUILD, and REBUILD.
The only weakness Pacer's has is their PG, they have all their future draft packs, cap room, and plenty of young/athletic players as assets in all positions.
Rumor is that he want's to wait till the end of the year for more money like Deron Williams, with a 5 year 100m deal.

Even if they do not get CP3, at least they would have a legit offer for him, it is a never ending cycle in The NBA, you want to always be able to improve your team, and collect assets.
The more assets and flexibility you have, the more you power the team has, the brighter future, and be able to make moves/decision with them.
There will always be a FA available and trade talks that will come up, more assets you have, the more power/decisions you have the ability to make.

New York always mortgages their future and in time they will pay for it.
Unlike the past years, The Knicks were able to buy 1st/2nd round picks, and take more risks, but with the new CBA, we could only spend 3m a year.

Mahimi/Plumblee
Hibbert/Plumblee

Plumblee
David West *final year*

I think they are a top 5 front court trio in the entire league.
They very well balanced, under rated, and compliment each other, they are not big names.
All are big, versatile, young, and long with good BB IQ.

Hibbert has to continue to develop, but the Pacers had to match the offer.
Almost all rookies that have ALL STAR potential, you must take the risk to keeping them, if not they will most likely walk off.

FoeDiddy @ 7/12/2012 6:35 PM
Pacers didn't look like they belonged in the same gym with us when we were healthy..they don't scare me at all and they got some favorable match ups in playoffs just like sixers...both teams I expect to fall to their real statuses. Pacers don't scare me one bit
MaTT4281 @ 7/12/2012 7:00 PM
Wasn't a fan of the Mahimi trade for Indy, thought Collison was the best player in that deal, despite size. But looks like Indy just signed DJ Augustin to a one year deal. Good signing by Walsh.
Mray20 @ 7/12/2012 8:36 PM
I don't care what minor moves Dolan does, Glen Grunwald got us Tyson Chandler, Steve Novak, Jason Kidd , Marcus Camby, JR Smith & oh some guy named JEREMY LIN! I'm much more impressed with Glen than Donnie and it's not even close.

without doing what donnie did, glen would not have the luxury of having the FLEXIBILITY that he has now to make these moves.

How hard is it to just trade away people for nothing to clear cap space and sign players to one year deals and tank 2 seasons

You do realize that there is no way in hell CP3 will go to Indiana to play ball.

What big time free agent as Indiana ever signed??

you know. This clown gave up 2 first round picks and valuable "assets" for a washed up McGrady. I dont understand the praise this man gets around here

They got Augustin on a 1 yr deal

That is my memory as well. But now we will have a healthy Lin running things, with a hall of famer backing him up as well as a great European pass first PG. We have Camby backing up Chandler. And don't forget our new bench. Man, we are stacked. I am not worried at all about Indiana (though I respect them), just Miami and OKC.

SMDH.

The whole thing was to pair LeBron with a superstar. He overpaid to do it but so be it. If he had gotten LeBron with another great player nobody would've cared. Enough of this crap.

Praising Glen for getting lucky with Novak and Lin but trashing Donnie for actually making the Knicks respectable. Laughable. Let's all go back to Isiah management. Maybe you prefer that.

There's a certain segment of people who can't recognize a good thing even if it comes a slaps them in the face. And most are not smart enough to account for the dynamics of timing and opportunity when passing snap judgment. But don't worry GKF, Donnie's legacy won't be tarnished by the trolls.
