Knicks · Knicks Might Match Fields (page 2)

Matching the Lin/Rockets reworked shakedown AND the Fields bloated deal? My God, I am gonna need a drink after reading this madness.
While I am aware that the Knicks are in a tight spot, just paying out all that money, leaving the team mired in cap hell after the next couple of years, isn't a smart move. This team is about to kick out WAY too much money on unproven inexperienced players, who will just shrug their shoulders and cash their checks if their performance isn't up to the level of those deals.
It's gut-check time for Grunwald. If he plays this hand wrong, he's done.
Agree. Its crunch time for Grunwald.
He got played pretty badly by Houston and Lin. You think its a coincidence they waited so long for the new offer sheet? They were waiting for NY to make their moves. The Camby deal leaves us no real assets to do other trades. The Kidd signing uses our lil MLE, which now makes it hard to get a guy like Felton, once rumored to be Lin's possible substitution. Now we are trapped. Anyway you look at it, we lose. If we match, we lose any flexibility we had with Lin, who now would become a pretty bad contract who would have to play "Linsane" to justify it. We don't match and suddenly Kidd is the starter at PG and the argentinan the backup.
I think Lin lost a few fans tonight.
The two of you can write a book on how to build and rationalize conspiracy theories. Way to go.
That's the best you've got? Now I understand where those weak arguments come from.
LOL. Weak arguments? Because I don't take rumors and proceed to make sh1t up? That's how YOU make strong arguments? You have consistently blamed Lin for trying to screw the Knicks when there is NO evidence he did or said anything at all. If you say something a 100 times over it becomes true, doesn't it?

You can read Dolan's mind? No, but If I was a betting man I would put money on it. Lin has made enough money to cover his contract for MSG already. Fields on the other hand hardly played up to his 2nd round contract. Do you envision seeing us pay Fields 10mil in year 3 to brick open shots and Fts?
I agree with Mr Clean.
I was responding more to the way Clean phrased it - he seemed to be declaring it an established fact rather than an outcome he was just "betting" on.

You have stated in multiple thread thats Lin was trying his best to screw the Knicks. This is your opinion not fact, but you keep stating it like it was a well established fact, which is why I had a problem with it. Lin's agent was asked by Knicks management to go test the market and you are upset becuase he did that and you don't like the outcome. I don't like th eoutcome either, but I see no reason to take it out on Lin.

Hahaha this really does it. You see my post yet read it as you wish. Did I call you a god? Hahaha whatever dude.
For the record, its you saying that I claim Lin wanted to screw us. What I said was that the move was dirty from Houston and Lin since they agreed on a different offer before. In Houston's case it does seem they wanted to screw us. In Lins case he wanted all the money he could and at the same time you could wonder if he really wanted to remain a Knick or go to Houston. I did say that Lin is intelligent enough to understand this is a poison pill for us and he signed it anyway. If in your little mind that is saying Lin wanted to screw us, then thats all you.
I know you will keep arguing your opinion disregarding this post i just wrote or simply interpret it in a different way, so respond to this message as you feel you like. No more from me. Peace.

whether signing Fields makes us a better team than signing some scrub that we could get using other
methods. I think the answer is obvious. The question of whether Fields is worth the money should
not enter into the equation since it's not our money and it does NOT adversely affect our cap situation
in the future.

Also can't rule out trading for Felton & resigning Lin. Just to punk Morey

A smokescreen for what though? Lin already signed the offer sheet, it can't be changed.
