Knicks · Lin's basketball value (page 1)
to have some perspective on Lin's real basketball value. Let's look at the team's win/lose record with and without him:
Games with Lin from February 3 thru March 24th: 16 wins and 11 losses for a winning percentage of 59%
Games without Lin from March 26 thru April 26th: 12 wins and 5 losses for a winning percentage of 70%
The Knicks actually did better with Melo leading the team at the end of the year.

no, you're right, the player who scored more points THAN ANYONE IN THE HISTORY OF THE NBA in his first 9 starts is completely done developing and getting better.
that's it. those 25 starts are it. he won't get any better at age 23. he's done.
time to move and start a 40yr old alcoholic at PG. oh yeah, i mean a 40yr old alcoholic who beat his wife and scored 6ppg last year on 37% shooting. YAAAY.

Jesus are you crazy????? I never said that. I want the Knicks to sign Lin. However, let's not over estimate his real value to the
Knicks last year, especially his UNWILLINGNESS to play in the playoffs. He could develop in a great player but that is still to
be determined and neither one of us has a crystal ball. What is clear is what he did last year.

See this is where I shake my head. That cool little stat he can tell his grandkids about about his 9 starts.....does not solidify him as a great player. Just like I have no problem admitting that the games played from March 26-April 26 are NOT a sign that he sucks and the team is better off without him. FeltonandAmare's post is just one example of some of the many things the FO has to take into consideration with regards to matching this contract. It is a tough decision that has yet to be made, despite what the media and their "sources" are saying. The overreaction by fans is crazy.

This unwillingness to play in the playoffs is complete bullshit. Did anyone read one article last season that said that? And really, why should he be rushing back from major knee surgery after we annihilated in game 1? Would Lin have made that great of a difference in the rest of the series or would he just be fruitlessly jeopardizing the entire rest of his career? Seriously, rushing a good, young player back from knee surgery was not going to be the difference in that series.

that's why i worried about him coming back about a month ago. frank isola started tweeting about how Lin didn't play in the playoffs despite being healthy. it was horse crap after the fact, but when isola starts tweeting sh!t like that, you know he is being fed it from someone in the garden trying to poison the well. isola is too stupid to come up with that stuff on his own.

thank you, doctor feltonandamare. but you do realize that you are just blindly repeating the MSG spin about why it's okay to let Lin go? you realize that you know nothing about the player's knee and how it felt in the beginning of may. the guy tore ligaments 5 weeks earlier. i'm sorry but no real time table has people returning from torn ligaments to play the highest level of playoffs basketball in 5 weeks.

Like who? The only player I can think of is CP3 who wears a huge brace on his knee and everyone's scared that his career has been shortened and might possible end at any moment. At the very least he doesn't play the same as he did pre-injury throughout the game.
EDIT: And, it doesn't address the fact that we had no chance in that series. It didn't make sense to rush Lin back until he was 100% healthy.

Yeah, did you see Melo hurt his "ankle" last year? His first one, I believe it was vs Memphis.
You just see him "grimacing out of no where, a few minutes in to the game, as Rudy Gay was lighting it up and DUNKING it like a beast.
Cause I watched the replay 20x and I did not see any sprain.
It was a WCF early road trip, avoiding teams with players that would have ate him up.
Funny, he avoids playing Rudy Gay, OKC *Durant*, and a few other teams that would have TORCHED him and his MAX deal up....
And I was not the only one, I know 20 people that said the same thing, and I wasn't the one that brought it up, in all different conversations.
1:20 watch as he rolls his ankle and misses, okay it was in the start of the 2nd half,
Next game OKC, is next....
He misses 10 games because of his "ankle injury" and 20 days for him to heal....
#just saying, u want to talk about injuries and at least Lin had surgery

Melo sat out this year against the Heat in January and no one here said a peep. Melo wasn't injured. I think the nature of his injury was "fatigue, upset with mike d'antoni."
