how can you even say this? on the one hand you knock felton for being a d'antoni guy, yet you think lin isnt? what about lin's game makes you think he's good at anything other than running an up and down offense? what about his game makes you think he can run a half-court set?

I still remember the Nets game after the Euphoric Dallas game. Boy did Deron have Lin for Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner hanging 38 pts on him. Calderon and even Greivis Vasquez toasted Lin. Rondo hung a triple double on him. Alot of Lin Lovers remember his last second 3 pointer to beat Toronto, but forget they had to switch Shumpert onto Calderon just to keep Toronto from running away with the win in the 4th quarter.

Rondo hung a triple double on Felton as well: http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=3...
Here's what Deron Williams did: http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=3...

Who exactly was Felton stopping while he was here?

I don't recall Greivis Vasquez and Jose Calderon taking Felton to school.

DJ Augustin: http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=3... http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=3...
Rodney Stuckey: http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=3...
Mo Williams: http://espn.go.com/nba/boxscore?gameId=3...

Is this the SSOL Knicks? More possesions in uptempo offense no? Wasn't the whole team bad on defense? Felton actually made a name for himself to the Knicks with the Bobcats, because he played good on the ball defense with Larry Brown.

There are reports that Lin wants out because MDA isn't here anymore and Woodson thinks he a backup.

I also think lin doesn't like playing with carmelo.... honestly, I don't blame him for wanting out of this dysfunctional franchise....

GoNyGoNyGo @ 7/16/2012 11:20 AM
I don't get this Lin is bad on D idea! He is at least as good as Felton, who is not great either. IN any case, I am not paying him for his defense, when I have Chandler and Camby having his back. Is Melo paid for his D? Lin is valuable because of his ability to see the court and make his teammates better. Felton is not that type of player.

so who likes playing with Melo?

This is the same old Knicks, they are attaching themselves around the biggest cancer on the team. Finally a PG falls into their laps and just like Mark Jackson and Rod Strickland, they are letting him go!

If it happens, I hope Lin comes back to the Garden and puts up 40 and 20 on Fatton. I really do.

Lin is 24 he will become a better nba pg especially with Kidd as his mentor. He obviously doesn't have the experience of a raymond felton at running an nba offense. Lin right now is the teams best scoring option behind Melo & Amare. Now we will be relying heavily on JR Smith who is just flat out erratic and settles for bad shots

Exactly Lin at 24 sees the court better than Felton who relied on the pick in roll with Amare. Didnt really make Gallo and his teammates in Portland better. Hubie Brown said the same thing about Lins court vision and high basketball IQ but what does he know

you literally gave me nothing about what will seperate lin from being a "dantoni PG" other than lin's age is what makes him good. did leandro barbosa ever develop into a PG? how about dj augustine? how about roddy beabouis in dallas? i could go on forever with this list.

guns, just move on! Lin is gone bro. He pissed Dolan off so the Knicks are not going to match. We are screwed because we are stuck with Dolan. Just be thankful that Grunwald got us Felton who is decent or you are stuck with Kidd running the point.
gunsnewing @ 7/16/2012 11:33 AM
Lin played well under woodson with amare & melo & cut down on his to's So well they went 6-1 and beat indy on back to back once woodson took over for dantoni. And he was playing on a torn minicus

That's one thing for certain. We won't miss Lin as much as he'll miss us. 3 solid PG's with Felton, Kidd, and Prigioni should more than make up for Lin's loss.

gunsnewing @ 7/16/2012 11:34 AM
Obviously he wasnt putting up close to 20 & 10 without Dantoni but he put up 14 & 7 playing with amare & melo on a busted knee

I cant wait for for wed to arrive whatever the outcome is. Im sick of arguing about this. I will not invest my time on mediocrity

I liked Felton on the Knicks, though I remember fans had a love/hate relationship with him- hated him at the start when he was out of shape, loved him during the middle stretch, then turned against him when he started tiring out (he was playing 40mins per game). Hopefully he can bounce back next year and help Amar'e bounce back too.

I'm not sure who the better player is now between Lin and Felton. I'd say while with us, Feltons 25 best games streak was as good, if not better than Lin's best 25. However the key thing is that with Felton you're hoping that maybe he can be almost as good as he once was in the past, where as Lin has the greater potential to improve due to his age and work ethic. That's what sets them apart for me, and is important on a team with lots of vets on the decline.

you sure invest a ton of time in the nu-gnr and we all know that's pretty damn mediocre

How does that in any way relate to this argument
