can he shoot?

C - Chandler, CambyMelo and Stat are clearly our two reliable scorers. JR is hot and cold, can't really depend on him if one of the two before mentioned go down. Novak - great shooter but can't create at all.
So, really, we have 1 great scorer in Melo and a pretty good one in Stat. When the playoffs come, the question is "Can our defense (which appears to be great) be enough to overcome the Heats big 3"? This is why I was so against letting Lin go.
Copeland and White might be the wild cards for us. I think we do INCREDIBLE in the regular season, just no so sure about how we stack up against Miami and OKC. We see what they got, both got a big 3, in a sense. We have a big 2, sort of. I feel Lin could have been that missing piece for us.
In my opinion....Felton is a better fit than Lin for this offense. It's not even close. 2-3 yrs down the road, it might be different. But the Knicks are always about the here and now. Chasing that championship. From the fans to the owners....We are very impatient, and can't wait for the young guns to grow, unless they show initial star promise like Shump.....Who has potential on both ends. Lin only impacts one side of the court, without any stars on the floor, in the right system. Felton is solid, when healthy, motivated and in game shape. Everybody on this team will be motivated to win now!

He doesn't have the a great shot to spread the floor, but he plays solid defense.
He cuts well, is a smart player, plays team ball, makes good cuts, knows his role, and would be our starter in our current lineup.
Brewer is still young and would fit in well with the starting lineup with his defense, and his smarts/BB IQ, cuts well, ability to finish, and would fit in with Kidd/Pablo.Iman Shumpert will unlikely be back healthy in NBA shape till LATE season, possibly not in the same shape and a few steps back from what we saw of Iman last season.
Brewer buys us time for Iman to heal and FITs in well with coach Woodson's priority of DEFENSE as a good team defender and solid 1v1 defender at the SG and sometimes SF as well.
Yeah, Brewer gives us a lot of the same things Landry gave us, except he is much cheaper. I'm surprised at how good a passer he is. Brewer is much better passer than I realized and he doesn't turn the rock over that much. I wished he fixed that ugly jumper, but we probably wouldn't have been able to sign if he did.
Hmm, so who do we sign for our last roster spot? Maybe Shawne Williams- he can play PF and SF, won't demand minutes due to sucking last year, and may be able to regain his 3pt shot.
Jason Kidd at 2guard should be put to bed with Brewer and Shumps coming back. Worst case Brewer is coming of the bench with JR as the backup 2/3's. Best case Brewer is playing well as the starting 2guard and Shumps brings some extra energy to the second unit.

Yeah, I can see Brewer starting all season....It's only going to help Shump in so many ways. He needs time to heal, plus he has a few defensive guards (Brewer, Kidd) to learn from, which will help his entire career.
Also, Smith said it on TV, he wants to play with Kidd....Well, now we have the perfect storm coming off the bench....Kidd and Smith in the back court. Don't sleep on Kidds outside shot....As well as Camby and Kurt.
Somebody said this is the old Pistons team....I disagree. I think this is a well balanced team of offense and deffense....More offense than the old Knicks and Piston teams....with Similar defensive IQ players.

A. Exactly.
If Mike Woodson is allergic to yoots, expect White and Copeland only to see light during emergencies. Shump is out as long as Derek Rose (March) and Pablo is insurance against Jason Kidd breaking down. Elders Kurt Thomas, Jason Kidd and Marcus Camby (12 minutes max) are on a pitch count.

This team is made for low scoring games. Assuming Felton, Brewer, Melo, STAT and Tyson you can see that this team is going to have to really dig in on D, cuz we don't have a strong shooting backcourt. Woody is gonna have to really be more creative than he's shown in the past, but overall this team is designed to stop people. Especially given the bench we now have.
You keep saying this is a bad offensive team but it's just your opinion based off of no proof. Is Felton and Brewer a little worse than Fields and Lin? Yes to Lin but really Brewer is a better offensive scorer if you take out 3 point shooting and a better defensive player. Unlike last year Novak and Smith will play a full year and if Smith has a normal season he then will become one of the best 3 pt shooter in the game. On top of that Melo and Amar'e are on a mission this off season. SO that may help. Just not having to play Douglas, Davis, and Bibby is an upgrade to our offense. On top of that in the month of April without Lin the team put up better offensive numbers. It is amazing what this team will look like when the turnovers are low.
Yes I would rather have Lin but this notion of being a bad offensive team is off based.

i think you misinterpreted what nix was saying and his bigger point: Nix never said this was a bad offensive team but rather is was not designed for dynamic scoring, and further, it's a half court team that starts with defense.

I know what he is saying that but Felton is an up and down PG and really good defense creates more transition so on top of the efficient half court play the Knicks may have more easier baskets this year. NO one knows what style of play Woodson will install(offensively) my whole point is not to assume any thing. This is a different team than the one he had with ATL.
Another thing Felton is a better 3 pt shooter so that will help space the floor. He had two poor 3 pt shooting in year 2 and 3 in Cha but has been good not great since then.
Anthony. Chandler. Stoudemire. Novak. Smith. (Shumpert).
Deep.
What This Means:
No one knows the playing personality of this crew until the ball racks are rolled out.

We would have to sign him and then after Feb (forget the date) he is tradeable with his permission. I think we could have traded him anytime after the first year of his contract. I think it is reasonable to say, that he would nab us a very very nice pick, at the least.
Can plaster JR back to bench and he's better at coming into games. Plus Brewer wont gripe too
much at being or not being in end of games.
Brewer should start & will not be liability with the ball. He also has improved a bit his offense each yr.
Can shoot better than he used to & peoples give him credit for
Team player
Q/A ? for real Knick fans

Give yo self another point if you knew his dad's NBA/teams
