re: the bolded part, LOL, did you forget houston beating the knicks to win a ring? and then winning again the following year?
how did donnie get cap room to sign amar'e again?
and more than 5 teams out of 30 have won since 1990. i left out the pistons, spurs, rockets because those are just well managed teams that don't have the money that comes with the market and owner the knicks have.
so, that's 8 out of 30. or basically 1 out of 3 teams. and the knicks have more money than any other team except maybe the lakers. what does that tell you?
Houston has not won since 95 and the knicks could have easily won in 94 if it not were 2-18 so I am speaking about the years since them. 8-30 is closer to 1 out of 4 but I understand the frustration. I really do. However, I believe that they are in better shape now then they have been in a while, especially after the layden, Ike days.
If Donnie cleared cap space, that was wonderful but using it on Amare was the worst move in many years. If that is what you call rebuilding, than you are no better in judgement than they are.
Remember too, if Lebron decided to take his talents to NY, we would not be having this conversation. Was that the knicks fault that he decided to go to south beach? Maybe it was but I don't think so.
Life is like a box of chocolates ...

there's a reason why lebron didn't come to NY. when dolan made his presentation to lebron he read off of cue cards. riley just threw his rings on the table. decision made.

Baloni!
It was Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh vs. Amare and MDA phuked up system.
Easy decision.

He was also extremely stubborn and was a big part of the feud.
Going back to Kobe and PJax and Magic and paul westhead - sh1t happens.
There are many sides to blame here - but that was yesterday and we are in a better place now. Is it much either to deal with pain and frustration if we can have a villain for a scapegoat? Maybe, if you take this sh1t that seriously then ... to each their own - I guess
yeah, it was a dope move for kobe to get phil jax fired. how did he do that season without him?
look, the knicks weren't winning a championship with any combo around melo. i'd rather have a team based around Lin, Gallo, Shump, Wilson, Fields, STAT, Tyson, Jeffries, MDA. i could root for it. and i don't really think the win total would be that different from what melo will bring us. but que sera.
I understand, crzy, but its kinda easy to say this without looking at history as it happened.
Whithout sending out Gallo and Wilson we don't get Melo. Without Melo, we don't get Tyson by amnestying Billups. Ty even said Melo was a big part of his decision. More so, without Melo, Linsanity never happens, as we always keep Felton and Lin probably never gets his chance.
I know the D'Antoni-Melo feud left a pretty bad taste on a Melo-based future, but while Melo gets it too rough from fans, D'Antoni gets it too easy. As stated previously in this thread, D'An had his many faults and problems (lack of emphasis on D, lack of practices, lack of in-game adjustments, being too stubborn) that were going to keep us from improving much further. You really think Melo was the only reason we plaued so well during the final weeks? The change of approach from coaching helped a lot.
Unfortunately the team you would've wanted probably never had a chance of happening. We have a new set of guys who may be talented enough to make serious noise. Why focus on negativity? I don't personally know Melo to know he is the terrible guy media always portrays, but I unofficially know that there is always more to it than one guy being good and another one evil. Melo has done mistakes, but are they worse than the guys also related to them? Since he is here for good, why not give him the benefit of the doubt and root for him along with the whole team?
There has been turn over, sure, and some 'veterans' I(euphemism for over the hill athletes) added, but its the same roster as last year, and we have yet to see Melo, Stat and Chandler all perform in harmony together.
Even last year, those three were never out there together performing individually and together well as a group.

I thought the Walsh fiasco was awful and a testament to Dolan's dickheadedness though you and the other GM's on this board overrate him excessively - Ike, and continuous Ike - obviously retarded ...
Amare - Worst contract in the league! Nuff said.
MDA sucked - good riddance!
Lin, I wanted him back but I am not dumb enough to think that my opinion or yours for that matter is DEFINITELY the correct one - no matter how much bitching people do
Blind love for Melo? Whatever ... I just have fun pointing out the fallacies in yours and the other bobbleheads arguments. They can trade him tomorrow and I could care less - remember, I like chaos and if I were a GM, I would trade half the roster weekly just for my personal edification - but thats just me

could we just talk basketball and stop trying to pick on fights/piss continue to egg on other people for boredom, entertainment, or any other reasons.
Seriously, like 9/10 of your posts, are either defensive if different than your POV/opinions or offensive to another member on the board, looking to pick a fight/piss someone off, and its getting rather annoying.
The 1/10 that you do posts, usually are some pics/videos of some sexy ladies that are beautiful.
You get insulted another members opinion is different from your's and argue about EVERYTHING.
I was not happy about the trade for Melo because I felt it sent us backwards and Melo resembles everything that I don't want a team to be with his drama and his self centered ego.
Yes, I know you see it differently, but so do I, we don't have to argue about it everyday.
Lin is hard to let go off, there are many DIEHARD Knick fans on the board, and in those 20-30 games, we have seen the team play their best, with continuity, cohesiveness, DEFENSE, and the most unselfish basketball.
Those were all 2nd unit players, outside of Tyson Chandler and *maybe Iman Shumpert because he is a rookie after all*
It was damn exciting and I still can't stop watching bits and parts of it today.
I still remember the damn reasons why I thought they could contribute and kept posting Lin/Novak should at least play minutes and could even move up to starters on the roster.
Dantoni's stubbornness and his lack of ability to adjust, time after time, killed me during his tenure here.
My beef, was letting Lin walk for NOTHING, I do not think he is as untradeable as many of the articles suggest because of the fan and marketing he brings with him.
Yes, Lin would not be enough to bring make us championship contenders but it would AT LEAST be start of how we should play and maximize the team's abilities.
If I was GM, I would make it seem like I would trade Lin, but move Melo out to the Nets for Gereld Wallace/Kris Humphries and maybe even some picks at the deadline.
I would also send out JR Smith, packaged with another player and a future pick, for Brandon Rush, and those 2 that threw Lin out under the bus would be gone.
Hand over the keys for Lin to succeed and move out the 2 players, who had a problem with Lin's contract.
The schedule makers usually have a Texas swing that includes a minimum of 4 road games in tough places.
What major events will occupy the Garden during early 2013?

Seriously, like 9/10 of your posts, are either defensive if different than your POV/opinions or offensive to another member on the board, looking to pick a fight/piss someone off, and its getting rather annoying.
The 1/10 that you do posts, usually are some pics/videos of some sexy ladies that are beautiful. You get insulted another members opinion is different from your's and argue about EVERYTHING.
I was not happy about the trade for Melo because I felt it sent us backwards and Melo resembles everything that I don't want a team to be with his drama and his self centered ego.
Yes, I know you see it differently, but so do I, we don't have to argue about it everyday.Lin is hard to let go off, there are many DIEHARD Knick fans on the board, and in those 20-30 games, we have seen the team play their best, with continuity, cohesiveness, DEFENSE, and the most unselfish basketball.
Dantoni's stubbornness and his lack of ability to adjust, time after time, killed me during his tenure here.My beef, was letting Lin walk for NOTHING, I do not think he is as untradeable as many of the articles suggest because of the fan and marketing he brings with him.
Hand over the keys for Lin to succeed and move out the 2 players, who had a problem with Lin's contract.Heres defensive RonRon, have you ever made these accusations to one of your Anti Melo Minions?
I rest my case.
Just spinning in a fancier way ... with lots of sentences ... that I never read ...
Yes I have, how many days in a row has it been since, you are initiating a post about either defending Melo or attacking Lin?
IT is annoying, this is the cliff note version for you to to understand.

Donnie started by signed Amare to 100 million while no other team offered him more than 60. Amare was/is a broken down injury ridden uninsurable player who nobody who is "rebuilding" would have gone near.ahh yes... Amare hate. Good stuff. You say Knicks are poorly run, but you fight tooth and nail to defend everything that has gone on here last couple of years. MDA, Walsh, Lin all dumped... GOOD. Yet you have never stated why you have undying and blind love for Dolan's wonderboy Melo who has accomplished zero in this league, yet you fully embrace him. Worst playoff record of any active player in the league, but he's everything Kobe is, just without the supporting cast. Funny stuff. What about Utah, Denver, Phoenix, Houston, Orlando, Philly ... 5 teams out of 30 have won since 1990. We so far, have not been one of them. It sucks, of course it does - but thats life.
They can trade him tomorrow and I could care less - remember, I like chaos and if I were a GM, I would trade half the roster weekly just for my personal edification - but thats just me
Never said Melo was Kobe but thats exactly what you spin-losers do - SPIN. But you do it badly which is easily impeachable

He's right. You do have good insights but they're hidden in excessive, attack-style, name-calling posts.Thats what I enjoy - attacking BS posts
you guys know that I am playing the same game as the fishmikes of the world - but you guys don't call out the posters who subscribe to your agenda. VERY UN-AMERICAN
FAIR AND BALANCED - DO IT FOR YOUR COUNTRY
I don't think I could have possibly crafted a reply that would have better illustrated the point RonRon and I were making. Maybe I would have called myself and RonRon part of the terroristic axis of evil but I'm sure that was coming in your next post anyway!
